Oh my god... I cant imagine how you all cope:scared: .... I wont even defrost the windscreen on the car.... I wait til it melts on its own then go out and leave the car running for 5 minutes to warm up before I get in it:drive: . Brrrrrrrrr...I'm sending you all warm thoughts:goodvibes

Not rubbing it in or anything but its quite nice here today - cold but dry so far.

Chris - every time a lightbulb blows in our house it trips the circuit  - we have to squeeze into the pantry with a torch to get to the fuse box to flick the switch (why do they always stick these boxes in stupid tight places?).

I hate it when the people come to read the gas and electric meters - It takes me 1/2 an hour to clear the pantry:rolleyes1 - its our junk cupboard - when in doubt shove it in the pantry, close the door quickly and pretend its not a mess.:rolleyes1

Talking of bears.... we were on a tour of Canada once and the guide told us to keep our eyes open on the road sides cos bears had been spotted recently and we might get lucky and spot one, and if we did to shout "bear" and the coach would stop so we could all see it.......well,....I was chatting to the girl sitting across the isle of the coach when over her shoulder I spotted a black bear right on the road side.... I screamed "BEAR!" at the top of my voice right in her face and she nearly died of fright:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
We saw a couple of bears later on that tour too on some ski slopes...she crept up behind me and yelled "bear!"... trouble was I had seen her coming so she didnt get me back:rotfl:

We still keep in touch now with xmas cards and all we ever write is "BEAR!":rotfl:

bye for now folks:wave2:

It's a lovely Sunday today. Sunny, but cold.

Just about to put lunch on - Roast Chicken.

Have a great day everyone.

Heather

Guten Morgan alle!! :)

I was thinking it would be funny to write this entire post in German. Brenda could write her's in Russian. Anyone else fluent in a different language? We could all talk about Jeff (we'd change his name to Fritz) and he'd never know it!!:lmao:

Poor guy is probably at the character breakfast now enjoying all that fresh fruit and chocolate croissants. Then I suppose at dinner last night he had to suffer through a bowl of mango soup and was forced into eating the chicken strips at Plutos for lunch. (Hmmm, strangely resembles one of my days on our cruise :confused3 ).

So for all you repeat cruisers, what was your favorite thing to eat or drink on your DCL cruise?

Nancy: Mango soup, chocolate croissants, mango soup, chicken strips, and more mango soup. I also think I had a Mochaccino every day too.

Chuck: Bacon, bacon and more bacon!! He actually liked the burgers, the hot dogs and chicken strips at Plutos too. See? Now you know why Palo was not for us.:sad2:

Hmmmm, know I see where we both gained weight on that cruise. All those walking sessions we did around deck 4 couldn't even things out for us.

Guten tag :flower3:

Bonjour!:wave2:

Well, its definately warmed up here this afternoon, just been around the shops without my coat on! - just a jumper!

Been to the sports shops and kitted us out in new exercise and swimming gear so at least we look the part as we collapse on the equipment:rotfl:

Hubby and son have just gone to the park with their silly nitro cars - boys and their toys:rolleyes: I'm having a nice cuppa in the quiet:coffee:

Here I am again.

Chuck and I were just looking through some brochures for Key West. I see that there is a cigar shop there. Can I purchase cigars and take them back on the ship with me? Will I have any problems getting off the ship in Port Canaveral with them? One of my co-workers would just love a few cigars. I wanted to buy some for him on our Eastern but was told I couldn't bring them back onto the ship. Just wondering...is Key West different?

:hippie:

Nancy, as long as you don't buy Cuban cigars (which you won't be able to purchase in Key West anyway) you should be fine bringing cigars back home.

If you're looking for tips on how to smuggle Cubans cigars into the US, please talk to me offline (your secret code for this transaction will be: The streetcar is going up the hill). :lmao: :rotfl2:

Keep in mind that you can also buy cigars on the Magic - I know the Cove Cafe sells them - so you might get a better price buying them on board.

Hmmm...favorite foods on the Magic? Grand Marnier souffle at Lumiere's, Prosciutto Pizza at Palo, Shrimp & Asparagus Salad at Palo, all the fresh shrimp, and oh yeah, Mochaccinos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dobrye Dehn (that's phonetical Russian for Good Day - it's hard to get the Cyrillic alphabet into the Arabic one).

PS - on both of our 7-night cruises I bought cigars in Port (Costa Maya and St. Martin) and had no trouble bringing them back on the Magic. Sounds like you were the victim of a misinformation campaign - the cure? A Mochaccino!!!!

My dear AFEG, my husband and I are cracking up at the idea of either of us being considered twigs. :lmao:

We only eat like that on vacation - the other 340 days or so out of the year are actually pretty spare around our place, other than those times that I fall off the wagon and go eat half the menu at McDonalds.

Jason is trying to get me off my lazy butt right now to go work out...I want to keep playing on the computer until we lose power (we lost it twice this afternoon but it came back on after about 15 minutes each time).

My new motto is this: Hard work pays off in the long run but laziness pays off right now. :thumbsup2

And your another twig too....:rotfl2:

Morning Karen, did we put to bed which company got are vote for "Best 12 month insurance quote"?....Thanks

So Chuck and I did lots of cruise stuff yesterday. We already have Port Orleans French Quarter booked for after the cruise so we booked the rental car yesterday. We got a pretty good deal with an Entertainment coupon that snagged us a free weekend day. We'll be paying $100.0 for a 3 day rental of a Sebring convertible. Not our idea of getting a convertible, it just turned out that way.:thumbsup2

We decided to forget staying at the ever convenient airport Hyatt because they wanted $226.00 a night including our AAA discount and taxes. Yikes!! That went up by almost $50.00 since our last cruise. Looks like it'll be either the Radisson at the Port or the Marriot in Cocoa Beach (another Konked Kruisers choice) for around $135.00 with a one day car rental for $42.00 from Budget again. :drive:

Where is everyone else staying before and after??

We spent most of Sunday afternoon checking out Cass's site for excursions. Key West for us is a long walk from one end to the other with a few stops in between. Cozumel may be just the HRC and back onto the ship for a quiet day at the spa or pool. Chuck told me that he just wanted to "see" dolphins and not necessarily swim with them, so now we're looking for an excursion in Grand Cayman for that request. I'll have to go back a few pages and re-read what Cass told me about their excursion.

Does anyone have a final list of our Konked Kruisers? Jeff was keeping up so nicely for us but now I want to print it out and practice so I look really smart to all of you next October! :cool2:

Time to go...Chuck has been shoveling for at least 30 minutes and it's time for me to go and pretend to help. :cheer2: "Oh sorry dear, I didn't know you were almost done".

Ouch...ouch...ouch...just back from body balance - more like body torture:scared: You had to tie yourselvf in knots numerous times then untie gracefully:rolleyes2 (ungracefully in my case!) I just know I'm gonna ache tomorrow:sad2:

Chris - our insurance will either be asda or direct travel insurance. Direct are £99 for annual premier but havent yet rang them to check re Ellis' nut allergy as that sometimes alters things by about £800!

We'll book it soon then pay off the cruise balance:cool1:
Then its just the virgin part left to pay.

Nancy - hope you've finished shovelling - you'll be another one aching tomorrow:eek:

We havent found any trips that we MUST do yet. We like beaches - I 'll probably just find a nice one and chill with a cocktail or two. - I dont like fish or stingrays or anything swimming around me - gives me the creeps just thinking about it.:scared:

Nancy and Chuck "stole" our itinerary for Key West and Grand Cayman, so I think we're going to end up drinking together at both ports before staggering back to the rainforest room at the Vista Spa. ;)

If I remember correctly...she owes me a drink at Margaritaville and I owe her a drink at the Hard Rock....:thumbsup2

We totally lucked out with the last wave of that storm yesterday - the temperature went a couple of degrees above freezing and we just ended up with 12 hours of rain instead of all the freezing rain we were supposed to get. Thank goodness because that would've been a terrible mess for the region and dangerous too, because the temperature is dropping fast now and we're supposed to be in the teens / twenties for the remainder of the week. :crazy2:

Hope everyone else is weathering the weather. ;)

Congrats on your two pounds, Karen!

I dont like fish or stingrays or anything swimming around me - gives me the creeps just thinking about it.:rotfl2:

Karen that so reminds me of Rosie....i took the twins (9 at the time) out with the snorkel gear at CC and when we got out about 60 yards from the shore Rosie starts screaming "something touched me"...it's the nearest I've ever come to drowning as they both have a vice like grip round my neck screaming "shark" and Ryan can't keep himself afloat for laughing at his normally fearless sister....:lmao: the joy these kids have brought us.....:lmao:

ps..Rosie will ride ANYTHING and she has already looked into how old she has to be before she can parachute and skydive but HATES ANYTHING near her feet in water, work that out....:)

Yep, I'll happily go down any zipline or go on any ride but dont but a fish by my feet:scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

I was on a lilo once a few years ago and I was scooping up water and trickling it on me to keep cool...well, I scooped up a little fish and it landed between my legs:scared1: , I fell off the lilo in panic and nearly drowned...looked down only to find a bl**dy lobster pot beneath me... did hubby save and rescue me???? - did he hell:sad: .....almost drowned himself cos he was laughing so much....so now I do a sort of wierd jig in the water to keep the horrid little things away from me, so if you see a wierd woman that looks like she is having a fit ....its just me doing my "keep away from me fish" dance.:lmao:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Is that Karen's DH having a fit?....No he's watching Karen clean her flip flops....:rotfl2:

I must admit I wouldnt want to see myself in a mirror by the shoreline:rolleyes: ..... not a pretty picture:sad2: ...its a real quick dunk in the sea to cool off then back to the safety of my sunlounger :beach:

Ahhh...... just thought... you have yet to see my "heres another bl**dy mosquito dance" too...goes something like this:yay: :yay: :yay: :dance3: :yay: :yay: :yay: :lmao:
