HOT OFF THE PRESS!!!!!!

Just put my phone down from a Disney Ex called April, who phoned me,after I REQUESTED they replied to my numerous e mails!
She was very polite, however the bottom line is the park WILL close at 7pm to day guests not 6pm as previously done. When I expressed my concerns she said Disney were well aware of all the ticket holders worries and that please give them the oppurtunity to conduct a smooth process. She said due to SO MANY emails, ( from the DIS????? ) they were putting more CMs on crowd control and everyone will have their wristband checked in shops, rides etc.
She did say if we werent happy on the night and we had PROOF that people were not being made to leave, who had no wrist band, to go the Town Hall. I said I didnt want to be doing this and ruin our first MNSSHP. She said "Please trust us, it will be ok." She did confirm it was always "under review" so things could always change back to the old way. However she said this definately wouldnt happen for the first 10 parties.

She was very nice and tried to re assure me, ( I guess truely its out of my control now ) so now im just going to let Disney do their job, and I will do mine and PARTY!!!

Greetings Friends!

Well I just got home from a dinner with the girls from work to find my dog locked in his kennel and DH, DD and her BF wearing masks over their mouths and a can of "RAID" in each hand. DD has been complaining that bee's are invading her bedroom. Chuck went downstairs to do a little investigating and found a bee hive (or honeycomb) the size of an old 45 record behind some insulation.

They were all running away from the bees after Chuck knocked it down onto the floor. DD said we would've won the grand prize in America's Funniest Video's show if we would have taped them. They were all running over each other to get away from the bees. Chuck grabbed his shop-vac and starting sucking them all up. It must've been hilarious!! :rotfl2: I can picture him as some kind of "mad-man" sucking up those bees. :rotfl:

They chalked the window and the siding from the outside and inside. That should do it!! Good thing I wasn't around because I ALWAYS get stung at least once a year. Since they sprayed the entire basement guess what I'll be doing all day tomorrow? :laundy:

Jeff, I forgot about the Great Wolf. That was the other choice. I think we'll stick with The Wilderness because we get to stay in either one of the cabins or one of the condo's if we choose. I've never been to Blue Harbor and never heard of the one you talked about in Pewaukee. Besides, Pewaukee is too close to home. It wouldn't feel like a vacation if I could be home in 10 minutes. ;) Have you ever been to the Dells for Wojawa weekend? We're veterans of the weekend and have been going for the past 21 years. It's more of an adult weekend. Not a lot of kids. Personally, I think it's too crowded for strollers and not much to do for the little ones. My kids never went with us in all those years.

Ok...this turned into more of a PM rather than a post for all to read. Sorry if I bored anyone. I'll do better next time. :bitelip:

Nancy,

I know what you are talking about with the bees. In our old house, we kept seeing a bee here and there in the house, but couldn't find where they were coming from. Then one day as I was working around the house, I was watching a couple of them. All of a sudden they flew down to where the gas line goes into the house and then a little while later, one comes out. I go down into the basement and pull back the insulation where the gas line comes in, and low and behold, there is a bees' nest behind it. We ran to the store and got the Raid, slowly pulled back the insulation and sprayed at the same time. There had to be a couple hundred bees behind there. When it was done, the hive was about 3 to 4 feet long.

What we did then, and you probably want to check this area, is caulk around the opening of the pipe. They always cut it too big for the pipe and the bees could easily get in there. I would think mice could too if it is low enough to the ground. Check out the opening.

As for the Dells info more like PM's back and forth, I think our fellow DISers should come up to the Dells next summer. If they like waterparks, you will love the Dells. It is the Waterpark Capital. It is about 45 minutes northwest of Madison, WI. Trust us, you'll like it. Plus, if you aren't into the waterparks, the scenery on the Wisconsin River there is just beautiful. If it were planned right, it could be a pre-cruise DIS meet.

Jeff

Where is everyone?! It's been 24 hours and no one has posted. We fell to page 2. Shame on you.

Or is it really October and I missed my flight and everyone is in FL? I don't think so, but the weather here in WI does not feel like August weather, so I'm beginning to wonder.

:guilty:

Sorry I haven't posted in so long...... All these stories about bees are freaking me out! I'm allergic to them and one bad sting is enough to send me to the doctor. This summer the utility meter reader guy was uncovering my water meter (which is in the ground) when he jumped and ran down the hill failing his arms. I was watching from where I sit at the computer. I ran to the door to go out and see what was wrong when I saw a black cloud over the meter. So I yelled out to see if he was ok and he said he'd come read my meter after I took care of the bees!
Say what??!!
But they left on their own, apparently they didn't like the roof being taken off their lair. There was a nice sized honeycomb in there when I finally checked it out two days later.

Evening everyone,

Yuck! Bee hives inside the house! Nancy & Jeff, your stories gave me the shivers. That must be some good insulation if you couldn't hear the buzzing! I would have been so scared! My husband was stung by a yellow jacket or hornet a few weeks ago while mowing the lawn. Turns out they had built a huge underground nest, and he mowed over it. Luckily, he was only stung once, but they were buzzing all around him. He took the hose and flooded them out, then used a ton of bug spray, then filled in the hole with dirt and rocks. Guess they got the idea, because they haven't been back since.

Lindy - thanks for posting the reply to your emails! Thanks for being so persistant! Sure wish they'd close the park at 600pm on party nights. Let's hope it works out.

My DD starts preschool tomorrow. They had an open house on Friday, so took her to that. She really seemed to enjoy her time there, so she should be fine. Got her outfit all picked out, and her bookbag all ready. Just can't believe she's starting school. They grow so fast!

Brenda, our mascot Travels is now wearing blue Mickey ears! Thanks so much for the tip. Should have seen me cutting the antenna ball apart. :rolleyes1 Those things are solid inside! I was rather surprised.

Hi friends :wave2:

Hi Poohbush............. Good luck with your Daughter starting Pre school. Its a mile stone isnt it? Let us know how she go on. I have to say, Elouise LOVED it and so did I! Getting time to go to the shops or get the laundry done is bliss! :teeth:
Elouise starts school in 2 weeks time. I will post a picture on here for you to see, her in her school uniform. At just 4 she looks so small to be going off to school. Bless! :cloud9:

Bees, yuck................ its one of the only things that make me run!! Well that and Brad Pitt covered in chocolate body paint!

Its a bank holiday here in the Uk, so we are decorating, me grouting the tiles in the bathroom and Wayne plastering the new wall he built to put our lovely big TV in. I know in the US 46 inches isnt a big deal for a TV, b ut to us its huge!!!! we are soooooo excited. now I wil struggle even more to get him off the X Box !!! :rolleyes1

O.K. This story if for all you bee lovers out there: http://kvoa.com/Global/story.asp?S=5330230

Can you believe 250,000 bees (yes, a quarter of a million of them)?! The guy was stung over 300 times and died.

We have a nest in the ground in the far back corner of the lot. Tried to spray them, but I did it during the day. Most must have been out of the nest. They were there a couple days later. I will have to attend to that in the next week. Luckily our yard is large so the nest is about 150 feet from the back door.

I still can't believe all the bees on the Magic on the Deck 7 sun area as well as in Palo. You first time cruisers better stay away from those areas. :rotfl2: :lmao: (if you haven't noticed, I'm joking. I feel I need to point that out since I posted a joke on my cruise meets thread for this past Januay and they thought I was serious. Someone asked about childrens' clothing requirements, and I put that the DCL documents state that they need to be in dressy clothes for all dinners. 2 fellow DISers believed me. :rotfl: )

We had to go look for senior living centers for my grandmother last weekend (she's 97 and broke her hip a couple of weeks ago. She has been living alone since my grandpa died 25 years ago, but the house is a 2-story and the only bathroom is on the second floor) and one of the centers we looked at must have had at least 2 to 3 dozen hives outside the main entrance. To top it off, the property is only 2 to 3 years old. Needless to say, she won't be going there.

Our DS starts 1st grade tomorrow. I can't believe the summer is over for him already. He spent it at a YMCA camp for the most part. He is really looking forward to going back to school. I hope he's like this when he gets to Junior High and High School.

And YES, they do grow up too fast. It just seems like last week he was going to Kindergarten (and that was a year ago).

Hi all!

Katie's 1st day of preschool went well. Too well in fact - she was pouting & sulking when it was time to leave! I was so excited, asking about her day, and with a frown on her face, she said "I don't want to talk about it now." I'm thinking "great, just 4 years old, and I'm getting the 'I did nothing at school today' bit!"

Jeff - we get your humor here. You're just as crazy as the rest of us! No need to apologize! I laughed right away at the "stay away from the bees on deck 7 & Palo!" Too bad other people on this board don't recognize humor! I'm glad we all get along here on our thread. Remember my "oldest DH" goof! I'll never forget it!

Love your humour too Jeff!!! :rotfl2:

Poohbush, glad your DDs first day went well :thumbsup2 2 weeks tomorrow is my Dd first day at school, and at 4 I guess I will get the " not done much " routine too. :teeth:

Can we join your merry little gang please?....were well behaved (most of the time anyway)Thiers Me,the old man,my better half Hazel,my DD jess who'll be 23 when we sail ("but dad it just would'nt be the same without me being there, would it?...Hmmm?") No it would'nt but please don't tell her i said that.....ooops i almost forgot the twins Ryan and Rosie they'll be just 13 buy the time we set sail.were staying in room 8034 so if anyone has any feed back about this room (good or bad) it would be much appreciated, thank you.

ps....were also doing the 10/27/07 cruise, anyone else staying on?..

regards

Chris

Greetings and welcome to our crazy thread Chris!! We are a crazy bunch and you may misbehave as much as you'd like. We strongly encourage it. :rotfl2: It'll be nice to have another guy on this thread. Jeff will surely appreciate that, although we "ladies" have not abused him too much yet. BTW...Steve....where are you????

You are doing a back-to-back cruise?? You lucky stiff!! I suppose your stateroom will be starboard side and we'll have to see you waving good-bye to us. We'll be envious but kind.

Hope to see you a lot more on this thread soon.

Nancy :sunny:

Thanks for the welcome Nancy,Yes were doing the back to back,we've done the Magic twice before 03 (without jess) and 04 (with jess) we also tried to book the magic return from the west coast without success, only to come home book a 14 night cruise round the med and then Disney ring us to say they had a room for us after all,miffed?..er you could say that...:sad2: "We'll be envious but kind."..Does the finger really mean "Have a nice day"?.....LOL.... :rotfl2:

Yes - he's going to fit right in with us kooky folks! Welcome! I see you're in a midship cat 3. Originally we had 8032 booked, but have since changed our cabin location. Still on deck 8 though!

Lindy - will your DD ride a bus to school? I think this transition to school was so easy for me because she does not ride a bus. I would have been an absolute mess if I had to see her board a bus without me! She has been going to daycare since about 9 months old, so dropping her off at school for a few hours is not a big deal. Whew!

Poohbush, we are the same. Elouise has been in day care one day a week since 3 months old. So it is easier. No, no bus ride, a 5 minutes walk, or a 3 min drive and 10 minutes of looking for a space to park ! :rotfl2:
Pooh, whats your REAL name? I guess you can work out im Linda.

Chris, hi welcome aboard our crazy thread!!! Where abouts are you from? We are in Swindon Wiltshire. Lucky you for a back to back cruise!

Bye for now, just wnated to drop in to keep us on the front page ! :sunny:

Lindy loo could you let me know if you ever get on page three please.... :rolleyes1

ps...were in a small place in West yorkshire called birstall,it's about 6 miles out of leeds...the sun was shining,it's now chucking down with rain AGAIN!!
