A very happy Monday morning to you all:wave2:

I've been up since the crack of dawn - it feels like lunchtime already!

Cheryl - hope Rachel is getting better - big hugs to her:hug:

Sean - I have a tip for your cycle training - a padded seat!:rotfl: - sorry - couldnt resist. I cant even manage 15 minutes withourt fidgeting so good luck!

Lindy - hopefully the guy with the camera will come today to take the photos of the property. Been cleaning and decluttering all weekend. I have soooooo much junk. Been looking at other properties this weekend. The garden at the one I love is sloping so a bit unuseable in parts. It could be fixed with a JCB and retaining wall, but hubby is anti- doing anything to it so we are still looking. Pointless really til we get an offer on ours but we can just look whats around.

Brenda - If you need invites sending just tell me how and I can help too.:surfweb:

Tina - hows Sammie? - getting better I hope:flower3:

Ok, thats its for now folks. I'm seeing my teeny weeny tiny nephew today - he's a big boy now - 6 weeks! - cant wait for a munch!

Morning everyone.... Karen you are up early, you busy bee. Guess you have a lot to think about.
Guess if you do move its the right time of year to have a garage/boot sale.
As I work on sundays, and im a bit lazy, we normally take all our stuff to a charity shop. I like to do my bit for the charity, and it clears my house up :cool1: However my friend sells stuff on ebay, so far ive done quite well on Elouises clothes ( stuff shes grown out of...:goodvibes ) I got £13.66 for a Next dress that was only £15 new, but it was stunning and in as new condition. I also sold her DKNY jeans we brought in New York and got more for those than we actually paid. :thumbsup2

Anyway I had better go and list some more.................

Most of our stuff goes to the charity shop too cos Dad volunteers there since his accident he cant work so he does voluntary work most days. I have done a bit of ebaying, I have a pile of clothes Ellis has grown out of - all "labels" and they do bring in quite a bit - especially if you get them in USA for a third of the UK price anyway:thumbsup2 .
Its just getting round to photographing them all and spending an hour getting them on ebay. Ellis has sorted through a lot of toys and been really good. The house is looking lovely - tidiest its ever been!

Good morning everyone

Even though I am staying home from work today with Rachel I needed to get up early and call the school to let them know she is sick. Well I don't need to call because it seems ALL the schools in the area are closed today because of the bitter cold and windchills. The news is showing it is -12 with a windchill of -29 right now and possible windchills as low as -40. The good thing about this is that Rachel is not missing any school work today because nobody is at school! So instead of a snowday we are having a cold day :cold: :cold: :cold:

I hear ya Cheryl!! I'm sitting here at work freezing my big old butt off!! I do have a window office but that only means I'm cold all day with temps like this. My little 10 year old car never really warmed up this morning although I have to drive about 25 minutes to work. I did see one of my neighbors standing at the school bus stop this morning and told her to go back home because I don't think she has school. She said they watched the news and her school wasn't listed. Poor kid!!! I thought they were all called off.

Well, I hope Rachael feels better soon. Lots of soup, hot chocolate, and soap operas for her today.:happytv:

Hugs to Rachel .............:grouphug:

I thought I was freezing today when my car showed -1 as I drove Elouise to school. Guess not now :confused3 :rotfl:

We TRY to walk to school , but I had to dash to the shops and then back to PC to load stuff onto E bay. :)

Take care all xx

I just checked the channel 4 website, and nope, MF is NOT closed.

What are they thinking? I don't see Brookfield, Waukesha or Sussex listed either. Arrowhead was on the list early. I live by one of the administrators and they said if the WC is -25 or lower, they will call it.

Now, not trying to be like our parents who walked to school uphill both ways in 5 feet of snow, I do remember that we didn't get school closed until it was -25 to -27 air temp with WC at -90 when I was a kid. But, hey, I'm for closing at these temps. Just wish we had the same rules. We would have missed a lot of school when I was young (winters were colder).

Jeff didn't you have to walk uphill both to and from school too? :rotfl: Al used to tell Rachel that is what he had to do and that it was a 5 mile walk each way until she finally got old enough to realize he was definitely not telling the truth on that when she finally said to him "Dad how could it have been a 5 mile walk when your grade school was right behind your house, all you had to do is walk up the hill on your way to school but coming home it was down hill" :rotfl2: Kids are too smart these days.

Two of my co-workers live in the Sussex Hamilton school district which I think includes at least some of Menomonee Falls )one of them lives in MF) and they said they never call school in their district. When we had the snow storm in the biginning of Dec. they were shocked because they did actually call school that day but it was the first time in years.

Hope all the sickies are startiing to feel better! :goodvibes

I will be sending out invites to the Yahoo Group this week but I can only do it from home - the firewalls here won't allow me to access anything private in yahoo.

As previously mentioned, if anyone would like to join please PM me with your email address and I'll send you an invitation to join.

Thanks for the offers of help Nancy and Karen - I'll be sure to take you up on it if I need to (depends on whether or not I have to travel this week).

Be well and stay warm! :goodvibes

DS goes to a private school that uses buses from Arrowhead as well as Hamilton. Since Arrowhead closed, 1/2 the buses weren't running. I'm waiting to see if the schools close by the 10:00 news tonight. Tomorrow morning isn't suppose to be much better.

He's probably hanging out on that ridiculously huge thread with all the other Repo cruisers...we're not interesting enough for him any longer. :sad1: ;)

I think not,if am honest it's getting a little heavy duty over there,i mean they'll be discussing and arguing over what colour underwear they'll be wearing and on what day to wear it next....:rotfl2:

No, Chris hasn't been pulling his weight over there either.
He's still only at 56 posts. I, on the other hand, have gotten caught up in it now. I was going back all day yesterday. And no, there is no way one could keep up with that thread.

I'm so used to his morning posts here when I get up.
