Mike, congrats, I see the Browns won.

Packers won an ugly game to day, but a win is a win.

Cinnimike:

Tony, Jesse, and Chuck want to know the 5 W's of this b-ball game. Well maybe not the last W, but at least the first 4. :rotfl2:

Are you playing teams or are you just shooting around?

i was for sure planning on the free throw shooting contest at cc.(assuming they still do that) ill be more than happy to play 21 or 2 bounce on the ship.
robin wont let me play in a real game because on the last cruise i blew out some guys knee on one of my monster dunks.:scared1: :rolleyes1
they are really worried arnt they?:lmao:

browns have a buy next week so no worries about missing them on the cruise.

If you guys are ever with an odd # of players (as opposed to just odd players) I'll help you out. I may need to be on the "old men" team with my body issues.

I'm not an avid player, but I have played before and am very competitive (yes, I'm competitive, surprising isn't it).

Packers are bye next weekend too. I'll just be routing for the Bucs to beat the Lions and all will be happy. Although, we need a Viking loss too next week. They have Dallas, so the V's should lose.

Bears have Philly. Not sure who will win that game. I would put money on Philly.

Hoping the Indians are in the WS before the Weekend. :thumbsup2 If they don't go a full 7, when would the series start? I know the Bos/Clev game 7 is set for either the 20th or 21st. At least I'll have something to do if they play on Saturday night.

according to the schedule i saw the series would start the 24th. regardless of how many games the alcs goes.

So we'll only get about 2 games then while on the ship. Bummer. Wish it started on Sunday and had 4 while we were there (given the ALCS would end in 5).

We know the NLCS will end pretty quickly. Looks like the Rockies might have what it takes to win it all. They sure are on a roll.

Mikey, Mikey, Mikey,

Oh little do you know. :rotfl2:

And if it's teams you want, then it'll be "Grumpy Old Men" (Mike, Jeff and my dad) against "The Good-Looking Young Men" (Tony, Jesse and a mystery guest to be named later)...and no her name is NOT Cinnamon. :rotfl:

Not concerned about the circulation in the South Central Caribbean? :confused3

They are saying it is moving west towards Nicaragua. But with it that far out I don't think they can precisely predict it. I would be most concerned about that. Weather Channel pointed this out this morning and this is what NOAA says about it:

TROPICAL WAVE IS ALONG 75W S OF 18N MOVING W NEAR 10-15 KT. WELL
DEFINED LOW LEVEL INVERTED-V CURVATURE IS OBSERVED WITH A
POSSIBLE LOW LEVEL CENTER BEGINNING TO FORM NEAR 13N. SCATTERED
MODERATE/STRONG CONVECTION IS W OF THE WAVE DUE TO STRONG
EASTERLY UPPER LEVEL WINDS LOCATED FROM 12N-15N BETWEEN 76W-79W.

Then there are those Lows that keep forming right off of the Yucatan at the west end of the trough that goes from the southern Bahamas to Cancun. Weather Channel says they are only rain events and the seas are only at 4 feet, so that will mean smooth sailing, just possible wetness. When I was watching the last couple, they said they are so close to the mainland that they probably won't have time to form. All you need is one to be a little further out in the warmer water and it could develop rather quickly.

They said some of the moisture should push up towards TX in the next 3 days. I'm hoping that means the trough will pull north and off of Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

I think Wednesday and Thursday will give us a good feel if we're safe. Hopefully the Low in the South will do nothing or move due west and not turn north.

At this point, I think it's still a little bit too soon to tell. The seas have been rather smooth, up to 4 foot waves (we've had in the teens on a couple of cruises).

If that trough doesn't push north (or south for that matter) we could be seeing a chance of rain any day that week. It has been sitting in the same place for over a week. It looked like it was raining in Coz last week when the ship was there and on that same day (the day after GC), it was pouring in GC. I'd like to see it move from where it is at. Not that we'd get rerouted if it stays there, but that we could have wet weather.

The lows off of the Yucatan keep popping up as well. They keep saying they are too close to land to turn into anything. Could one form a little further east on that line? I don't know. Not sure what that would mean. It would have more time over the warm water (which is used to fuel the storms).

Lastly, I first heard about the circulation in the Southern Caribbean this morning on the WC. I then checked out what NOAA had on it. From the satellite they showed on the WC, you can clearly see the circulation. That would be my concern at the moment if it turns NW or N.

I'm like Steve, in full weather watch mode now (not like I wasn't 2 weeks ago - that is how I know that trough has been sitting there so long :sad2: ). I'll probably be catching the Tropical Update (:50 past the hour) on the WC morning, early evening and late night everyday along with checking the NHC site on NOAA, www.nhc.noaa.gov, everyday if not twice, along with the Intellicast forecast and analysis pages.

Your understanding far exceeds my own, so I'll bow to your knowledge. I'm with you on the checking twice a day. I don't know why, I'm not going to change anything but I guess it helps to be prepared. I'm hoping their right about the rain moving away from the area. It's a long spot of rain for them, it's gotta break sooner or later.

Fine, I won't give my analysis any more than. :snooty:

:lmao:

I'm only in if you're odd numbered. Looks like you have 2 on 2 already, so you're set.

If they find an "older" guy, I may be religated to your team Tony. Better watch out, I'm definitely a ball and chain.

Don't think that I'm an expert by any means. I just look at a few different sites and watch the WC and NBC Weather Plus for analysis.

This stuff changes every few hours. This afternoon the lady on the WC didn't speak of the circulation in the southern Caribbean, but did mention that the longer those troughs/fronts stay out there, the better chance they have of spinning off something. :scared1:

The next 3-4 days will be telling to see what happens. The circulation in the south should move to shore. The line hopefully will start to move and the lows will stop forming by the Yucatan. If that line stays there and the lows keep forming, I could not tell you what will happen. We'll probably have one rain day for sure but hopefully no storms to deal with.

Keep watching it and we can discuss as thing pop up. You may see things I completely miss. Together, hopefully we'll have an idea of what to expect.

According to the WC, most storms for the 11th-20th of October start in the Western Caribbean. Don't like hearing that.
