Lori yesterday and over the weekend we were in the high 80s and high humidity too, many temp records were broken. This is the first time we have ever used our air conditioning in Oct. Now it is a cold 51 and very windy. I have actually closed all the windows for now, I don't want to go from using the AC to the heat in 24 hours. Maybe this cool front is heading your way!

Cheryl, that's funny about the AC and the heat. DH wanted to turn the AC on on Sunday and I refused saying, " It is OCTOBER--we are not turning on the AC." He says, "Well, normally we would have the heat on by now." I say, "Exactly, that's why I am not turning on the AC." I was hoping we won't have to turn on the heat until after we get back from the cruise.

Lovely pictures

I have a small preview with more to come...

I believe it is. Only supposed to be in the mid 60s Thur, Fri and Sat. I love it.

Rachel just started wearing contact lenses, soft lenses and they do look alot bigger than the gas permeable ones that I wore years ago. She has done very good with getting them in so far but has had a hard time getting them out sometimes.

So, I went to the eye doctor this week. I have worn gas permeable contacts for 21 years and he gave me some freebie soft contacts to wear on the cruise when we go snorkeling. O.K. Could I feel like more of an idiot? I could NOT get those things in my eye--they are so different than gas permeable--and so HUGE!! Finally did get one in my eye, but it could be a whole different story on the ship. :confused3

We interrupt your cruise planning for a Plankton update ...

Like many of us who are figure conscious, especially before a vacation, Sheldon J. Plankton has been working out all summer ... getting buff for all the towel floozies he expects to meet on board the Magic.

And since this is his first cruise, Plankton has been growing ever more excited as the days tick down to October 20th. When I came home from work tonight I found him pretending that he was hanging out on a tropical beach somewhere far, far away from the armpit of the midwest. He was trying to persuade our cat to make him a Konked Cooler.

My cat's breath smells like cat food. :rotfl2:

Thus ends (for now) Plankton's pre-vacation adventures. Please take good care of him while you're cruising and thanks again for offering to bring him along in the first place. :goodvibes

PS. Way to go, Cleveland - you knocked off the evil empire!!! :thumbsup2

We are sailing on the 20th too - me, my husband, and my four and a half year old son. We live in the Richmond, Virginia area. We are also taking my in-laws from Minnesota. This is our first Disney cruise and we are very excited. I realize it's late in the game to get to know you guys here, but I've been browsing the posts and it seems like a great group. Is anyone else taking 4 - 5 year old children?

I hated to turn the AC on in Oct. too but we gave in. We did have our heat on once already when we had that cold spell a few weeks ago. It was cold and damp and I like to turn the heat on just to make sure that is working OK before it gets too cold and we really need it.

not to mention the stress from her parents going into the nursing home.:sad1:

I am taking my 5 year old son (and my 10-year old!) They are both very excited!!

We're supposed to be in the upper 50s this weekend but sunny. My niece is getting married this Sat. and I think I would rather have upper 50s for a wedding than upper 80s and humid.

I believe it is. Only supposed to be in the mid 60s Thur, Fri and Sat. I love it.

Hi Brenda can't wiat to meet Plankton but wish we were meeting you instead :goodvibes

Thanks Cheryl - I feel the same way. We're going to be very sad come October 20th but we have many other DISfriends who are going to help us drown our sorrows that night at Party for the Senseless in Epcot.

Actually I'm hoping to meet up with you fine Wisconsin folk next summer when Jay and I bravely make our way North for a family visit. :goodvibes

Welcome :welcome: to the cruise and the DIS boards! This is a great group of friends, just jump in and start chatting with us! There are quite a few kids on the cruise of all different ages. I am cruising with my DH and DD13.
