This was the hotel but we think it is still being used for something but don't know what.

While in Jerome we went to the Douglas Manion which was built in 1916. It is now the Historic Park. Here are some of the things that we saw.

I don't know the actual names of the things but this is what they used to break up some of the rocks during the minning. They would tie donkey to the 4 polls and as the would walk around the rocks throwen into the pit would break up against the rocks that the donkeys were dragging.

Hey that was another Picture Fo and I have had 2 whole pages to myself. I have never had a whole page let alone 2. I guess when you scare everyone away posting pictures you get things. :rotfl:

I don't have a clue about this one. Scott said to take it and post it and the UKer's will understand it. Good luck

This is the town of Jerome
100_0808.jpg

I've been there. It's a great little town. We also went through Sedona. When we did our AZ tour, Laura was pregnant with Stuart. We picked up a little stuffed dog (made by Ty-- just as the beanie babies were going out of style and they started making larger animals) in Sedona. It was our first gift to our unborn child. We named the dog Sedona and when Stuart was born Sedona was in bed with him every night. (I used Sedona to prop Stu on his side a small amount to lessen the likelyhood of a flat head that so many children develop.) Stuart is sleeping with Sedona tonight.

Ok history people here you go

In 1916 this was the town hospital

Yep, been there. Supposed to be Haunted. I've even seen a few TV shows featuring that place. Eerie as all get out inside.

Yuck! It's way too early for the white stuff! Is this abnormally early for you to get snow Cass or does it usually start in mid-Sept.?

We have had snow here in every single month! We have weird weather! But it only sticks around starting usually in mid-October. The poor kids usually have to wear big heavy coats under their Halloween costumes.

Usually September is nice but this year is weird. We had an abnormally hot July and then a cold August, so who knows, maybe I will be in shorts in December :thumbsup2

  for Cass and Kira that these 2 teeth finally pop out!

Thanks Cheryl  They haven't popped out yet but she was doing MUCH better today :thumbsup2

Cass,

Loss of the internet has gotten me behind on my reading, but I did see your wedding pic. Nice pic. :thumbsup2

Also, thanks for trying to help me solve my animation problem. Let me know if you think of anything else. :goodvibes

I have a computer degree and it's driving me crazy. I may have to talk to the techies at work. Maybe they'll think of something I'm not. :confused3

When Rob gets home I will ask him if he has any ideas. Sorry I couldn't help more :sad2:

You are joking right? I

Nope, it snowed for about 2 hours today but it was light and fluffy and melted when it hit the ground. The other day when we went for a walk, it was 32ºC (about 90F I think) and now it's freezing :upsidedow

Hi everyone,

Really quite sad around here. Yesterday, we were told that our dear dog, Sasha, has a malignant tumor on her leg. The lab tests says it's "highly suggestive of sarcoma" which means cancer. :sad1: She's 9.5 years old, and looks and acts quite healthy. She has a surgical consultation tomorrow, and if they agree with the surgery, it will probably be on Monday. I'm not even sure yet what kind of cancer. She's been the best dog, so very affectionate. We had her long before we had kids. Our hearts are breaking.

I'll keep everyone posted, but from what I've been reading on canine cancers, and the size of the tumor, it's not looking too good.

So sorry to hear about Sasha :sad1: We had to put our 10 year old German Shepherd down last year, he had cancer too but also some back problems. We miss him SOOOOO much! It's never an easy thing to do! I still remember that day, it was horrible! Rob and I cried and cried for days :sad1: Lots of hugs to you and your family

Hi there. Since the subject of fall and snow has come up, I want to know what temp you feel is cold. I'm going to get a lot of laughs but it is currently 66f here and to me it is cold, it will get somewhat colder but after having 90's for the last few months this is cold. Now before you laugh I know some northeners that will complain about 80f being hot, and to me that is the perfect temp to me.

I'm weird but I like to be cool. It's been about 5-10º C here for the past few days and I am LOVING it  I take a sweatshirt with me on my walks but after 10 mins I am all sweaty so I take it off. People look at me weird cus I am in a t-shirt :rolleyes1 Rob likes being nice and warm and toasty and gets cold easily. He doesn't like anything below 20º C (68F)

Where's Cass? Playing in the snow with Kira?? I hope she isn't wearing out that elliptical.

Good night all.

My sister and niece came to keep me company today. They just left so I haven't been able to get on my puter. I shall be heading upstairs to my elliptical soon! :thumbsup2 I had a bad supper, chicken enchaladas :sad2:

What a small world. That is such a cute gift for Stuart. Mackenzie got a baseball from a Diamondback game in girl colors as her first gift. Needless to say I went to the game pregnant and scott bought the ball.

We did not go in any of those places but I would never have thought about that. I am not really into history but I must admit that I am wanting to know more about this town.
