All done my exercise for the day. :scared:

When Kira and I went for a walk this afternoon, we took a new path that Rob had pointed out to me yesterday. It turned out to be a great path, right along the river! We only encountered 4 people in just over an hour, so obviously not many people know about it:thumbsup2

I am getting my legs in shape for WDW and trying to get Kira used to being in her stroller :goodvibes

Well, our two weeks of fall is almost over, we are expecting some snow overnight tomorrow :headache: Then we will be back to 6 months of winter

SNOW?:scared1: :scared1:

News just in...............

Ellis didnt cry going into school!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: He almost did but managed to hold them back.

We bought him a really lovely football yesterday - gold and black and very expensive:rolleyes:

Its sitting high up on a shelf in the kitchen with 5 tears stuck to it.

Each time he goes into school without crying we pull off a tear. When the football has no tears on it he can have it. 1 day down, 4 more to go

I'm also going to steal rhe idea of the countdown paper chain for the holiday - making it this morning.:thumbsup2

Yeah for Ellis.  I love the football idea. Great idea!:thumbsup2

Well, I guess I better work now since the Doctor is sitting beside me wanting me to work. Talk later.:goodvibes

Go get 'em, Karen!

What is ordering money?

I believe Sean and Karen are talking about exchanging pounds / euros for our weak and sickly American dollar - foreign currency exchange is probably a lot easier and less expensive on their side of the ocean than it is over here. Most US banks have to order foreign currency for their customers and it takes a couple of days to get (unless it's a really big bank in a really big city) and they usually won't do it all for non-customers.

Feel free to correct this ignorant Yank if I got something wrong. :goodvibes

Hi Lori. Bye Lori.

Karen--I didn't even know that this type of allergy existed! I guess I am really lucky that my kids don't suffer with this; they surely would have been in real trouble with me not knowing about this stuff. To be honest, when I first read the posts, I thought it sounded unreal--Your post gave it "credibility" with me. I knew that some people suffer with nut allergies, but I had no idea that they could react without ingesting nuts! Amazing! Horrifying! I think the bigger question for that thread is, "What is happening to our world and environment that is causing such an allergy?" This is mind boggling..........

When you first found out that Ellis had this type of allergy, you must have wanted to just keep him so close to you. I know I would have. You are one strong Aussie, my friend!

Speaking of kids, it's time for me to get Alex some breakfast and off to school!

Y'all have a great day!:goodvibes

Afternoon Sean. Great deal on PE. The seats aren't that comfy, but you get a bit more leg room. We received out $$ from Crown Currency on Saturday and we're getting our car from Budget, so we're all set.

I assumed they'd do it at the airport. Maybe you get a better rate by "ordering" it?

When we lived in Japan, we had "Yen machines" that we would use. they were like ATMs. When the dollar was strong, we would "stock up." When we travelled outside of Japan, we would change our money, whether it was yen or dollars, in the airport of the other country, e.g., Thailand, China, then we would change it back before boarding the plane to go back to Okinawa.

Thailand--Brenda, you and Jason should try that place some time. It's great and the people are so nice! And the dollar is strong there, or at least it was when I went a few years ago....I have the Kate Spade bags to proove it!:lmao:

You got it, Brenda

Too funny - I have always wanted to visit Thailand. It looks absolutely gorgeous and I have heard wonderful things about from people I know who have visited there.

I didn't even think about currency exchange at the airport - duh! :headache:

Off to work - the sickie hubby thing must be going around. Jason is huddled under the covers feeling "crappy" and has decided not to go to work today. Wish I could stay home with him, but I have to go write up a request for a $6million car wash facility. I hate car washes ... my motto is "have garden hose will wash." :lmao:

Definately get a better rate ordering it. Crown Currency project in advance what the dollar/pound exchange rate might be in 3/6 months and you order the currency based on this assumption. You do have to stump up the cash in advance though, and that's were they cover any loss that they have made, as they obviously get interest on the money you pay in advance.

hi there ,

we are not a tall family i am 5ft 7 inch and cath is smaller so the extra legroom is just perfect for us , we get ours on the 10th oct 4days before we travel. our friends could not belive the deal we got on the £ to $ rate but you lose interest on your money in the bank to get a good rate in excess of $2.00 to the £

have you done PE with virgin?

Jen, sorry to hear about your sad weekend. Hopefully, we will all cheer you up this Sunday. And BTW...we'll be watching the Packer game on Sunday and not the Bears. :lmao:

I may have to wear my Bears shirt anyway...just to torture all the Packer fans! :rotfl:

Actually, I think the Bears play the 3:00 game, so we can watch the last quarter at home. Can't wait for the meet on Sunday!

I have been trying to drink just one a day and the rest plain water. It hasn't been too hard, because the stuff is too sweet for me.

I'm sweet enough! :rotfl2:

Sweet? I thought you were tart?:lmao:

Lori - been thinking about your daughters school project - how about yorkshire puddings?

Dont know if you have them over there?
Batter you put into the oven and they come out crunchy?
We either eat them with a roast dinner or if we make a big one we fill it with things like sausage and mash and use it as the dish.

Or theres shepherds pie but that might be difficult to make indivual portions of.

I'm sure if you google the names you can find a recipe. I'd type mine out but I use a packet mix for my yorkies!:rolleyes1

Karen, are scones actually from the UK? I was thinking about that yesterday, but didn't want to suggest it until I could verify. You can buy scone mixes in the grocery store, and serve them with jam. Thoughts?

what are your travel dates?
some people have said you can get a good deal on PE at the airport but i am not to sure about that because it seems very popular ,

when we check in at orlando airport is there a different check in desk for PE and UPPER?

Yep, several times and we do the outward and inward journey in October in PE.
