Karen, I know it can be so heart wrenching for you. We have gone through this many times. What helps me (sorry...unsolicited advice coming) is to know that this adversity actually makes him stronger in character. Even though it is a struggle for him getting to know new faces at the new school, it will help him to be independent as he gets older. And when he has another hurdle to climb, he can look back on this and say, "If I could do that, then I can do anything." Bottom line is if you have confidence in the school, Ellis will do great. Kids are so resilient, and with a cute face like his, it's only a matter of time before he is every teacher's favorite student!

Paige - thank you! - I only just read this post - I skim pages when theres lots to read and you guys have been busy overnight and missed it totally.

I am a little happier since we had the meeting with the teacher. She seems nice and wants to help. We have explained he is a quiet and quite sensitive child and she will put into place some ideas such as a sticker chart if he comes in without crying and a buddy system to help him get to know his peers better.

He was the same when he started Beavers - he didnt like it at first cos he had no-one he knew there, but now he enjoys it. You're right - it will make him stronger - I just wish (like all mothers) that there was something I could do to help. It really helps offloading to all my friends on here - its a great place to chat and theres always someone to cheer you up or give great advice - so thank you - advise me anytime

I'll be DISing today (if the bosses leave) but then that's it for 4 days. We are going to a fall festival that we've been going to since Kristin was born...23 years ago. Send some 'dust stuff' for nice cool crisp autumn weather for us plz.
