My daughter and I used to do things like that together all the time. I miss that. :sad2: She's now 20 and lives south of Dayton, Ohio.

So I go down and spend weekends with her now and then.

How lovely:goodvibes You're very lucky

I miss having a good relationship with my mom. We speak for the sake of Ellis but its not too friendly most times. :sad1:

We are lucky she makes friends easily. She is our social butterfly :goodvibes The last cruise she had a bunch of friends made here on the DIS before we left too! She is really looking forward to this cruise and finally "meeting" her friends too! It's nice to know she is hanging out on the ship with the kids of people I have been talking to here too :thumbsup2 The worst part about this is the morning we get off the ship when we get back she will be miserable and in tears because of having to leave her new friends, it wasn't pretty last year :sad1: what am I talking about I usually shed a few tears myself that last morning :sad2: :sad1: ) This year though when we get off the ship we will be going to DD to meet friends that we made on last years cruise so hopefully that will help.

It's good that Rachel is on the boards. She'll feel more comfortable around the other teens. Usually, by the time they get to know someone and start having fun... the cruise is over. :)

Morning Janice  It was bright and sunny here earlier but now it seems like the sun is just peeking out from the clouds. Did you get your first frost of the season yet the last 2 nights? No frost here yet but the nights have been cold.
Not last night, but before that we had frost.

Janice how nice that you got to see Nancy, Chuck and their family yesterday :cool1: We are really looking forward to the meet next Sunday
It was nice to visit w/them again. Before we knew it we had been visiting more than 1 1/2 hrs, went & had supper, walked around downtown for awhile, about 9:00 Mark's phone rang to tell him that he had to be to work at 2:30, so a funnel cake for the road and drive home for Mark to get to bed to be up at 1:30am. Can't wait to see everyone again next weekend. Chuck & Nancy will be sick of seeing me, (2wknds) in a row.

I know I will have a very very hard time when Rachel goes away to college in just 5 short years. For as much as we do the arguing over typical teen stuff we still really enjoy doing stuff together, she even says she enjoys it and I guess it shows when she says she wants to work on stuff with me :goodvibes Thats so nice that you get to go spend those weekends with your daughter!

Shortly after I posted about the bacon butties Neil decided to wake up and be ill:rolleyes:

All over the bathroom:scared:

He's been in bed ever since leaving me to do everything. As you can probably tell my sympathy has ran out several hours ago after I had to somehow get a bouncy castle and motor into my teeny tiny car and drive miles to return it:mad:

Needless to say the air was blue I was cursing so much.

He's just rolled out of bed now - 3pm:mad: - still whining like a baby over a sore throat. Men! - geez they really know how to be ill dont they:mad: - they can never just be a little ill, oh no....they have to be nearly dying.

Well, nurse Karen has had enough and is going on strike.

Rant over - sorry!:goodvibes

Actually, I'm pretty lucky. Mike doesn't complain much even when he's totally miserable. When it comes to his heart... I wish he would speak up.

Tell Neil we hope he feels better soon. :sad1:

I hope Neil feels better quickly :grouphug: It's a good thing men don't have to give birth isn't it :lmao:

I was in a good mood at the time. Not any more:sad2:

A friend of mine sent this to me and I thought I'd share it with you all - it's one of the better email "jokes" I've received in a while.

Never Argue with a Woman...

One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and
decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.

Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"

"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, isn't that obvious?).

"You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her.

"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading."

"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says
the woman.

"But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden.

"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you
could start at any moment."

"Have a nice day ma'am," and he left.

MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can
also think.

It sounds like our other meet, it never felt like we were at Oscars for 3 hours that night. Time sure flies when your with friends :goodvibes

Goodmorning Robin  This is a good one :thumbsup2

Robin Haven't seen you here much lately. Hope all is well with you! When do you leave for WDW?

Cheryl, are you asking Robin or are you asking me (brenda the wacko)? ;)

Jay and I leave for WDW on October 15th - only 29 more days! I have been so busy with work lately that I haven't had a lot of time to DIS. I usually poke in a couple of times during the day but my laptop "blew up" three different times at work over the last couple of weeks so my daytime surfing time has been restricted. We're also in the middle of an acquisition and I've been tied up with a 90-day class that the bank enrolled me in ... lots of homework lately. :sad1:

Have a lovely day everyone ... I'm off to check my email at work and find out if I have to "work" today.

photos uploading slowly - up to 9 of 13. They'll be along shortly so now is the time to leave the dis or be bombarded by my photos AGAIN!:rolleyes1
