:sad1: We're the only ones not going the night before

Rose-

If it makes you feel any better, my sis and her family are driving from near Nashville. They are leaving at 5pm EST on Friday evening. They have a 13 hour trip, have to set aside time to eat and sleep. With luck on their side, they figure they'll get to the ship by 2-3 in the afternoon Saturday. If anyting goes wrong then this car trip may turn into a disasterous idea. Their kids are 4 and 5.

Abby

I wish they'd all serve raisins. We dont have a great deal of choice here in the uk over airlines. I remember when we took our first internal flight in the US, we were amazed people were just walking on at the last minute and finding any seat. Maybe its changed a bit since 9/11, but we have to be at the airport at least 2 or 3 hours in advance and are allocated a specific seat.

Do you think you'll recognise people at the Dis meet? Thats my main concern that I'll be standing by a KKer and not even say hello:eek: - I'm not very good at names and faces so I aplogise in advance to anyone who thinks I'm rude - I'm not doing intentionally:sad2:

I also dont see people if I'm walking somewhere, Neil often calls me back as I've strode straight past someone I know - I dont even look at people - I just focus on where I have to go - my sense of direction is pathetic - spin me round once and I'll be lost forever:rolleyes: - god help me on board where it all looks the same:rotfl: - I'd better keep a list of all your cabin numbers on me, so if I get lost someone can help me get me back to my own cabin:lmao:
Either that or I'll crash on your balconies;)

Karen-
I do the exact same thing! If I am out and about, I do not see people that I should know. And I was thinking, could we put on name tags the day we get on the ship so everyone will know everyone?? :rotfl: I am terrible with faces and names.
Abby

No but she does not know how to sit in a dress or play on the play ground in a dress without showing everything. That and they can not wear dresses for PE days.

Ohhh that makes sense. I don't have little girls...so I forget about those things.

Boy that's crazy. I'd be a nervous wreck the entire way! We drove down 6 hours to meet the cruise that I met my wife on. And I freaked when we hit LA traffic! Thought we'd miss that ship for sure.

Oh no. Jeff please come back...If it was me I am truly sorry... I miss you around here.

Ok, what's going on with Jeff?

Someone must know.....

When I last was catching up with the postings from last weekend I was reading through and noticed that he had deleted all his postings from about last weekend.... maybe from saturday on..... can't remember when it started.
I tried to catch up on my reading to see what happened but can't quite figure it out.
Something somebody said?
About postings? Milestone posts? Counting?
Or about politics? There was something about that being mentioned?

Anybody remember?

Jeff, come back please.:flower3:
I'm sure that whatever happened or was said, it was either a joke or misinterpreted.

We all miss you:grouphug:

Crazy for sure! I figure with that kind of drive ahead of them, they are already spending all this money for the cruise, why not go ahead and pay for flights. It's not like they don't have the money. I'm sure they'll make it though, even if their nerves are fried and they all are no longer speaking to eachother. :rotfl:

Dont feel daft  - nuts are everywhere. I would have checked them first anyway before giving them to Ellis - I spend most of my life reading labels on food:goodvibes

I am going to take them out of your bag - i will find a special thing to replace them

thanks
Jessalynn

OMG that is so scarey to have that alergy on a plane. I didn't even think about flying and nut alergies. The last time I flew they had pretzels instead because of all the allergies to nuts.

I have a bag of stuff to keep him occupied....word searches, dot to dot, play clay, nintendo ds (of course), reading book, small note pad to keep his own diary - (another way of getting him to write), noughts and crosses travel game, .....no wonder my hand luggage is full and heavy.

I also wrap up little prezzies - he gets one to unwrap each hour - small packet of sweets, crayons etc - keeps the journey more fun and interesting for him.

How long is your flight? Do you have tv's in the headrests? - another god send:rolleyes1. We arent taking the portable dvd player this time - we just dont have the room so I hope those tv's are working:rolleyes:

My worst time is the actual check in and boarding. I get soooo stressed cos of Ellis' nut thing. We pre-reserve the seats with a wall infront of us - less chance of contamination etc, but they give them away most of the time to "more desrving passengers":sad2:

Then i have to get on the plane before Ellis and Daddy and do a thorough sweep of the plane area where we are sitting, wiping all the windows, seats, tables etc etc before he gets on. Then I sit and panic for 9 1/2 hours incase someone opens nuts...remind me why we fly again?...oh yeah - to get to Disney:rotfl:

ON the cruise ship, are they careful and understanding in the kids areas and dining rooms? I would hope so. I was at a skating birthday party and they had it posted on the door in bright RED paper stating that there was a person with a severe peanut allergy that was inside and that NO NUTS of any kind were to be brought it. The birthday party bags had peanut MnM's in them and the hostess just left them in her car until we were all leaving. I didn't think it was a big deal at all. I would so much rather be a little tiny inconvenienced by a food/snack than to witness such an attack.
