Very slowly I am getting things accomplished too. I am waaaaaay behind Carrie and Karen. I do best under pressure. I usually don't get to bed until about 1 am the day we leave because I am finishing packing and then I have to get up at 4am to be at the airport in time. I am too excited to sleep anyways
We can't request Rachel's homework until 2 weeks before we leave but I did mention she will be gone to a few of her teachers at open house.

I had to submit forms on why this trip would be educational and then give it to their home room teachers. They then have to mark down if they think it will be a benefit and what grades they are carrying in their class and then pass it to each and every other teacher. Then it goes to the office for attendance records then to the principal for final approval. Isn't that ridiculous?

I wish. I have only had one, one time. I was going to get one on the ship but don't want to spend that kind of money.

Great idea! I'll have one at home just before the cruise! Cheaper!

But I've had one on the cruise, that was my very first one! It was wonderful!


Oh, and not to mention my first massage was on the cruise too!
Wow, it was fantastic! And I had a young, in his 20's, nice looking guy with blond hair from Australia

When I got stung the tour guide told me that he would need to pee on it to stop the stinging. I told him a few not so nice things and then went and sat on the edge of the boat. About 20 minutes later it was still stinging and he offered to pee on it again and I told him to jump in a lake (not so nicely) at which point when we got back on the ship the ship dr. told me the same thing. No one peed on my leg and it burned for 2 days.

Carrie I didn't know you had gotten stung! OMG...

Are you taking Thomas to see the kids club that day? We are taking Ellis - not sure when though! - when ever we get a second to spare I guess!

We will be taking Thomas to see the kids club - I'm not sure when either! I suppose he can't stay in the pool forever, right?

I'm not particularly talented in the craft department, so I'm crossing my fingers that the t-shirts will turn out ok. Lucky for me, someone else did the graphics! Thanks, KK board!

This has not been a good night. My son just called and said our daughter-n-law is spotting and is hoping she is not losing the baby. She lost twins before Addison was born. She goes to the DR. tomorrow at 5.

Say a prayer for us.

Just got another call. My Dad got combative at the nursing home and they just took him to the alzheimer's phsyc ward at the hospital.

He was trying to pull mom out of bed because they wouldn't let him sleep with her. He said "Come on, we're going home"

He then swung at a nurse and threw a blanket over the other nurse.

I was planning on going to bed early, but I might as well stay on the boards...
I sure won't be able to sleep.

Just got off the phone with my mom. They have decided not to take my van to the airport. So we will be going by shuttle. I told her since they made that decision she can book the shuttle. She will be doing it tomorrow. She wants them to pick us up at 6:00am. So we will all be sleeping on the floor at her house the night before leaving.

Sleep? the night before? I can hardly believe you'll sleep too much anyway.... hahahaha

We normally have a hotel near the airport, but I sleep even wose if I'm not in my own bed so we're just getting up early the day we fly and driving to the airport and parking - its only an hour away

Carrie great to hear the teacher is giving homework ahead of time. Working in an elementary school office our rules state that if it is unexcused absence the teacher has the right to deny the work. All of my teachers do not follow this rule because they know how precious family time is. In fact with DD in HS now those rules state that she can't have homework and that she would have to do 1 Saturday school for every day she missed, which would be 5. When I had her IEP I told the teacher, psychologist, and her counselor that we were going on the cruise and I would like for her to start serving those days now (this was a month ago). The counselor said, no because she is going to be sick those days. So she will more than likely be bringing or doing some sort of modified project while she is "sick" that week.

I am glad they are willing to work with you on it. I could not imagine doing Saturday school. Arizona just does not seem to care about kids missing school. We really have to pull the school work out of the teachers. Have the time the kids never get homework during the year so the teachers don't want to give it to them for missing school.

This is just one teacher out of 9 that we have to deal with. I think Mackenzies will be the worst at helping us.
