Yup...some toys, snacks, blanket, bedtime friend (right now it's pooh bear AND his puppy dog) and the DVD player (which will also play the cd of music he falls asleep to at night, so I don't have to try and lug along a cd or tape player)...

I forgot the blanket thank you. And yes her stuffed ducky, which by the way dresses up in doll clothes. I am hoping she will be tired enough that she will go to sleep with her cd.

Good Morning Kids!

Had a computer geek over last night to clean up my 'puter, and to secure our wireless for the laptops. The guy was here for over three hours and only charged me $70.00!! He did a ton of stuff too.

A couple of incredible things here. 1) He finished in a bit over 3 hours! WOW whenever I go to a house to fix something, It ends up being an ordeal. The amount of crud that gets loaded on computers is astounding! Besides, it seems to me that no one updates their OS or Drivers. And chances are, if they have 30 things to DL and install, they are using Dial-up.
2) He only charged $70! Probably overjoyed at having only spent 3 hours.

Good morning everyone!

Sorry I wasn't on last night...I was fighting with my 'puter trying to make door signs. After spending an hour installing, uninstalling and reinstalling my old Printshop program, I couldn't get it to do what I wanted to anyway. I found a cool Disney font that I downloaded (which took another 20 minutes to figure out how to add it to my computer) but I could not get it to work with Printshop. So, I abandoned Printshop and did a very plain sign with the KK logo with the flags, and I don't like it. I'll post it tonight (I don't have it here at work).

Then, this morning, I tried Power Point. I was able to use my font and got a slightly cuter sign. I'm still working on it.

What do you creative people use for signs, etc?

I use Adobe Photoshop Elements. I was used to using the Corel product (I can't remember the name) It was so easy to use, but It would not work with WinXP (older program and I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a program that I wouldn't like. So I wandered aimlessly looking for something until I got a free version of Elements. It's very full featured, so there is a bit of a learing curve.

That must have been rough for you. Really puts things into perspective.

It is the fear of all ER employees, seeing someone you know come in the backdoor. For the most part we maintain a professional distance from the patients, it helps maintain the sanity, but familiar faces break down all of that. He was a good kid and I prefer to remember him that way rather than the way that we met last night. Thanks for your kind wishes.
