I'm in a public hot spot waiting for lunch with a friend before a class that I am taking...anyway, Dr. Phil is on tv and I haven't really watched it much but since it is on the tv here I don't have a choice. I feel very silly sitting here with tears in my eyes. I didn't know they discussed such sad topics as todays show.

What is todays topic?

Well I am off here to prevent myself from public tears. I hope you all enjoy your day.

i am off also. Taking Mackenzie to school and then to work. DH already left with Kyle for school and Kelsey got on the bus an hour ago. Today is a hetic day. The kids mom made a dentist appointment for Kelsey at 3:30. She gets home at 3:00 so that is fine but I am at Mackenzie school picking her up at 3:15 and Scott is at Kyle's school picking him up at 3:10. Neither of us would be back to the house until 3:30 to 3:40. I left it up to Scott to juggle it around and figure it out. To much for me to figure out on a Monday.

I guess they will do it in 3 parts... next week is the interview with the parents and grandparents together for the first time. Then part 3 will be the little girl talking and asking questions and telling how she is afraid of things. She was 6. Kills me..grandfather doesn't say he is sorry..he says he is a victem as well.

FO

Well have a great day and hopefully someone will pop on and keep the boards posts a rolling.

Transfer stuff...

Here is the tip sheet I posted on the KK site.

Iron on Transfer Info
What You Need to Do Iron-on Transfers
There are kits available that give you everything you need, including software and a t-shirt, or you can just but iron-on transfer sheets.(Easy to do!) Whichever route you go, here's what you'll need for the typical iron-on style of transfer:
• Software
• Artwork
• Transfer paper
• Printer
• Iron
• Hard surface
• Pillowcase or other fabric
• T-shirt or other item to receive transfer
TIPS
• Print a Preview Always, always, always print a preview copy of your image before printing it on the (expensive) transfer paper. Do this to insure that colors print correctly, that your image doesn't fall into your printer's no-print zone along the margins, and to see what size your design will be (sometimes the on-screen view can be deceiving).
• Flip Image Don't forget to flip or mirror your image. This is especially critical if you have text in your design. The text should be backwards on screen or on the print out. (Another good reason to print a preview copy first!) Some programs do this automatically.
• Use the Right Side of the Paper Transfer paper has stripes on the non-printing side. Be sure to put the paper in your printer so that it prints on the clean white side.
• Test on Scrap Fabric Test your design on “scratch fabric” before applying it to your final t-shirt or other fabric. Some types of fabric may require more ironing (heat) than others or may not show off your design as well as you expected.
• Use Lots of Heat Use your iron's hottest setting but no steam. It takes a lot of heat to transfer the image evenly and completely to the fabric. Peel off the paper while it is still hot.
• Use a Hard Surface The reason transfer instructions specify a hard surface (such as formica) is because it holds the heat. Ironing boards tend to disperse the heat and the transfer paper needs to be very hot to work properly.
You can find iron-on transfers at your local office supply store. I have found it at Office Depot, Walmart, Michaels etc. Unless you can’t find any other brand, I don’t recommend the Avery iron-on transfers. I’m not sure about others but I don’t like this one because you cannot iron off the shiny part. If anyone finds a brand that allows you to put a blank piece of paper over your transfer (after it transfers to the t-shirt) and iron off the excess shiny part, please e-mail me and let me know cass@cassworld.ca.
It will be in the instructions if you can do this The brand that I used to use has been discontinued.

You cannot iron the transfer again AFTER you've ironed it the first time. So if you need to flip your shirt and do the back, you will need to place the shirt so that you are not ironing over the back design. This is not easy so I would recommend doing either the front or back, not both, unless you do it like mine where I just added a little thing at the top so I didn't have to iron my logo twice.

If you have an extra piece of fabric, like an old rag, I would practice with that first before you do your shirt, especially if this is your first time using iron-ons.

Another question... maybe I should find myself a passporter..but I am not sure where to get it and not sure that I would have time to use it greatly...

Ok...everyone talks about with late dining not being able to get to the adult shows quick enough to get a good place. My head was thinking the shows because we did the shows after dinner on the last cruise as we had late dining. Now, we will do the shows then dinner so what exactly am I going to be rushing for? Are we talking about like deck party things? OMG I think that there is a HUGE difference between a 4 day and a 7 day huh?

The shows everyone talks about rushing to are the adults shows in Rockin' Bar D. It's hard to get there in time to get a seat if you have late dining, which is why I recommended that if some KKers get there early, maybe they can grab a few extra seats. Nothing major, don't grab 12 seats or anything but maybe if you are a party of 2, grab a table for 4.

I have a question for those of you "starring" in my KK video....

Is there anyone who would object to me posting it on the DIS boards??

I am going to edit the video and take out the photos of everyone before I post it.

Let me know if you have a problem with me posting it in an open forum please.

we have no problem with that at all.:thumbsup2

How about a cruise related QotD?

How many movies have you seen in the Buena Vista Theatre (plus the WD Theatre if they run one there) on a normal 7-night cruise?

For the newbies, how many do you plan on watching?

Has anyone had a complete rainout of a day during a cruise? We never had. Just wondering what people do. Was it at Sea or in a Port?

sail away in 2005.
in 2001 rained in bahamas. too windy to dock the boat at cc.
in 2002 rained in bahamas. ruined our beach day. rain and wind first half of day at cc. we had to go back to the ship. it was a 4 day cruise so we got to go back for a few hrs to cc the next day and then they kicked the ship into warp speed to get us back.
BUT WE ALWAYS HAVE FUN NO MATTER THE WEATHER!!!
but now you see why we consider ourselves the jinx family.

ill try to get robin to post niagara falls pics tonite.
we had a great time. the weather was fantastic!!
nice and hot, just like florida.:thumbsup2

ok guys cinnamike here. we just got back from the falls.
quick story. we never gamble but since our hotel was next to the casino we popped over to play a couple dollars in the slots.
while robin was playing some rich looking guy came over and said " ill give you one million dollars for one night with your wife".:thumbsup2 we looked at each other and said " ok".:rotfl2: so needless to say we will be buying the strawberry smoothies for all on this cruise.

Robin here... lunch break

All right Mike... What have you been up to? Telling stories again?

Not true! Not true! (One look at me and those rich guys run the other way.) :rotfl2:

I did win $46.75 at the casino after only putting $5 into it. I printed that receipt and ran to the cashier.

I figured my odds of winning much more (without putting a lot more in to that machine) was very slim. :goodvibes

We had a great time though.

Did not want to come back!!

Robin here...

Ok, is anyone else with me? It's been 7 months and I still haven't lost any weight. ( You know that weight that I was going to "lose for the cruise") :guilty:

I'd go up and down about 7 lbs. and that's it!!!!

It's "Moo Moo" time!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Let's see... We have about 9 1/2 weeks before we leave...

I can do that. I've been on the "tae bo" trail this past week. I'm firming up... I don't care what the scales says, just take away the inches.

147 posts to go - keep posting folks:thumbsup2
I want to steal that magic number:lmao:

Jeff...know you're busy but QotD please.:thumbsup2

ooo, I know...has anyone received a magical moment on a Disney ship before or has CM done anything out of the ordinary for you?

On our 11 day trip last year, Rick & I bought a lovely map of the Caribbean, and the bridge staff plotted the ships course on it for us and it was then signed by the Captain. A real one-off.

Heather

Ahhh Heather that sounds lovely. Did you frame it?

Give us the 'skinny' on your spain holiday, Karen.

Heather

Fly to Reus, staying in Costa Daurada, a 5 minute drive to Port Aventura and 3 water parks. Hotel is on the beach and sounds like a nice quiet resort, car hire for a week so we get to visit all the medieval castles etc and an ancient aquaduct.

Just killing time til Florida really:rolleyes1

I bet it falls before Wednesday.

You know Karen, the more YOU post, the quicker we'll get there.

I'm trying....just come back in from the garden - been digging wholes and planting trees and bushes. Looks good now:goodvibes

Its very ssssslllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwww today.

Heather

Certainly is:rolleyes:

Karen, you need a hard surface for the transfers. A padded ironing board is too soft. When I did the backs of the shirts, I slipped a cutting board inside the shirts so the front one wouldn't melt to the back.

Thank you - I want "Karen Mouse" along the top of my back:thumbsup2 - I could use a wooden chopping board slid inside the t shirt

That is what happend to my mexico flag.

Dont give up:hug: - just wear the first lot as pyjama tops on the cruise, or as pool/sea t shirts to stop from burning:thumbsup2 - they wont go to waste that way:thumbsup2

I was almost thinking of trying the transfer thing and making us t-shirts. I am back to my not thinking I am sure I could do it.

Have a go - it'll be fun to see everyone in them even if they arent 100% perfect - mine will be about 20% if I'm lucky:lmao:

My oldest is going to speak at church next week. They are letting the kids run the service and he will be speaking. He has come so far, I am so proud of him. 2 years ago, life in middle school here so bad i was not sure I would ever see him emerge again. I thought I lost him.

Oh how lovely - tell him a big well done from me:hug:

I guess they will do it in 3 parts... next week is the interview with the parents and grandparents together for the first time. Then part 3 will be the little girl talking and asking questions and telling how she is afraid of things. She was 6. Kills me..grandfather doesn't say he is sorry..he says he is a victem as well.

The yshould chop his bits off - victim my *ss.

I cant even consider not docking somewhere - it just cant possibly happen..I wont let it even enter my head - positive thoughts people - we're going to have perfect weather, calm seas and lots of fun:banana: :cool1: :goodvibes

Right, I'm off to have a cuppa - byeeeeeeee

I'm exactly the same - I was hoping to lose a stone before we went - nope!:sad2: - lose a few, then put them all back on again:sad2:

Oh well, life goes on

paige, are you guys staying at the raddison? thats where we are staying.

We sure are! We are checking in on the Friday night. I am hoping to get out of Virginia at a decent hour, as we have a 13 hour drive ahead of us......I would like to leave early morning, but we may wait until midday since then it wouldn't count against the kids at school. They will already be missing the entire next week for the cruise itself.

Maybe we'll be early enough to have our own "mini-meet?":)
