How is everyone today?

I kept thinking about Lindy Loo all day. Poor thing. We just had 5 inches or so downstairs, i cant imagine what it must be like to lose everything and have sewage in your home. Thank god they are ok and managed to save their valuables like photos etc. Sofas etc can be replaced but memories cant be.

Its been really sunny here for 2 days now and I think the rains are finally over - thank god. On the Dibb site somone else was saying that they had had no running water for ages and they were washing in evian provided by the army. Its freaky weather for sure. When the hurricane went over our house it was just plain scary.

It makes you wonder what the Big guy has planned next. We now have a new case of foot and mouth again in England. Maybe he'll send a plague of locusts to join them.

Good morning


I am not painting for me. My DD and I are going to go help with a project through the church today. It is painting a ladies porch. She can no longer do that type of thing. We started it 3 weeks ago and are going back this morning to finish it. Why they pick the summer to do projects like this is beyond me.

Believe me, If you knew the type of day I am having in the ER then you would understand, I'd rather be painting in 100 degree heat than be here!

Oh and Steve! I was going to tell you that you could be my dad if you didn't say it... in fact my mom just turned 45 on July 22nd!

Just as long as your mother has never been to California, I'm pretty safe!

Hi all,

I went to 4 hours of Tae Kwon Do this morning and I was very tired when we were finished. I made Kaitie go with me because if I have to suffer though 4 hours she does too. I started my Atkins again on Sunday and I have not had sugar for a week now. I even took the kids to Culvers today and had nothing, WI people will know how hard that was. Culvers is a fantastic custard shop. I have lost 11 pounds and now only have 30 to go. I hope my willpower holds, my mom's b-day is in 2 weeks and I have a weakness for birthday cake frosting. This month is a diet nightmare,

Too much temptation

We are cleaning today and I just folder 5 laundry baskets of clothing, oh so much fun.

It actually went pretty well. We finished painting by 11:00 and then we were off to a pool party and BBQ. Just got home not to long ago.

I have been in contact with the Atlantis Sub people in Grand Caymen, to verify how they charge and what not. The lady and I have emialed back and forth a few times now. She proceeded to tell me the 10:30 one was full already, so I could pick from 9:30 or 11:30. I got that message last night and talked it over with DH. We decided that I better take the 9:30 on so we could still do lunch and shopping afterwards. 11:30 is just smake in the middle of the day. So the ladies message said I could book online through the website or I can just email her back with my credit card number and tell her what time I want. I decided to do it through the site and decided to do it today because after the ressies open up the 9:00 might not be available. So of course the website does not give you an option to a time to pick from. It gives you a request number and says an agent will get back to you in 2 days to finish booking. NO THAT IS AFTER RESSIES OPEN UP. So I emailed the lady back in hopes of her getting it and pushing us through for the 9:30 one. Please lets hope.

Our DS's room is usually messy with all his toys laying around. Just thought I'd ask.

Luckily, I didn't have any "toys" laying around. It was actually pretty funny. He put all of my MANY MANY shoes in pairs and laid them all over the floor. It looked like a shoe shop. DH was not amused!: rolleyes1

Did you ever get funny looks when you told people you were both only children? Dave and I get funny looks all the time about it. It's like "You mean NEITHER of you have any siblings?! Get out of here!"

My parents were both only children, so I get the weird looks when I tell people I don't have any aunts, uncles, or cousins!!

I forgot all about that aspect. It is true Mackenzie will not have any aunts, uncles or cousins. No wonder she clings to my uncle so much when she sees him.

I don't really like those cream puffs either--too much cream if you ask me.

You know, I never really thought about it as a kid. I had a couple of great-aunts--one in particular I really enjoyed, but holidays were always very small. Usually just my folks, 2 siblings and 1 long-distance grandma. I think it is great that my boys are growing up with 1 set of grandparents, 1 aunt & uncle and 1 cousin in town, and everyone else no more than 2 hours away.
