There has been some worried people round here about DIS Tag gifts and I thought I'd let you know the kind of thing we received last September.

Pirate stickers
Pirate tatoos
Antenna markers
Pens
Carnival bead
Coins
Sweets/Candy
Postcards
Notebooks
Eye patches
Compass and Map
Small tube of Toothpaste
Stickers

So don't worry - its the thought that counts and that everyone having a bit of fun trying to tag one anothers door without being caught!:thumbsup2

Scott here... need to get Lilprincess: DD to school.

Heather I was wondering if there is a chance to sit and have a slice of Canadian Apple pie with the grumpy ole sod and Dave sometime on the cruise?:confused3

Talk to ya'll later

Then I'll stay tuned to the DISboards for the latest updates instead of the weather channel!

It's more fun here, anyways!

Not to mention we're not politically biased here. ;)

I am all over watching the "H's". I in to watching the systems come off of the west coast of Africa (that's where they'll be coming from if we have any issues). To get to the Caribbean, it would either have to form there or come on a low (southerly) path so it doesn't get scooped up into the Atlantic. You will on rare occassion get one that will come straight through the Leeward Islands into the Carribbean. If that happens, we really need to look out. It could be very powerful.

How about we hope for one to come through on Thursday passing over Cuba so that we have to stay in the western part of the Caribbean for a couple extra days. Make this cruise a 9 or 10 nighter. :thumbsup2

An afternoon FO?

Ok, new question on arriving at port...

I have our van picking us up at the hotel (near the airport) at 9:30 am, so I figure we'll be at port around 10:30. Now, I see a bunch of KKers are trying to get there right at 10...is it insanely busy right away? Would I be better off arriving earlier, later, or leave it as is? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

This cruise is too far away...planning a year in advance means I have had WAY too much time to obsess about minute details.:hourglass

I think at 10:30 you should still be fine. The lines get really long by 11:00. You probably will get a #3 or #4 boarding pass however at that time.

If you go later, I would arrive between 11:30 and 12:00, when everyone is boarding.

If you come early, you can party with all of us at the fence waiting to get in. :cool1:

I think Suz is camping out over night, like the people who want HP books, concert tickets or Xboxes. :rotfl2:

Last time we went in separately because they opened the gates early and I was not back from Avis yet. We both got #2's. So, if that happens again, I will have a #2 to pass on to someone (for the right price :rotfl: ).

That would be so sad a 9 or 10 day cruise for the price of a 7.:woohoo:

You'll have to wait till the last night, if they haven't changed the menu. Plus there won't be any beaver!!!

Looking through your list, they all made sense except the one highlighted. Were they trying to tell you something? :lmao:

Thanks Heather - I was the one who first raised concerns....

thanks to everyone who has clarified - I am not an overly crafty person so mine will be simple but that soudns OK now. No one will mistake me with Martha Stewart :cool1:

I thought it was a good idea - all that chocolate and candy. Never have enough toothpaste.

I remember the old manager on our audit (he left the firm) was on the one that was suppose to get back on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend back in I think 2005. It ended up being a 10 nighter and they had to dock in Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale).

They did make a stop in Galveston to drop people off who needed to go home (his wife and older son left because school was starting here in WI on that Tuesday).

Suz and I would love to get STUCK on the boat a couple of extra nights.

Our return cruisers gift contained 4 small tubes of factor 30 sun cream, which I thought was also a good idea.

I have been meaning to ask - why do we have boarding numbers? Do we take a boat over to the Disney Ship? I thought we boarded right from the building onto the ship?

I don't think work will be too pleased if we get stuck...but that's their problem.

What's all this hoopla about the Tag gifts? I thought we agreed we were giving $100 bills. Wait, I think Goose said that was to be my gift.

I had a tough time thinking of what to give, but Suz stepped up and came up with a couple great ideas. She is good at that. I'm more of the analytical type.

To save the long queue, they introduced boarding numbers and you have to wait for your number to be called.

Heather

PS - there is no tender to catch, just cross over a covered walkway

Do you remember the days of the queue? We would send one to that line and the other to the check-in. Then you wouldn't dare get out of line. I so like the new way better. It is more relaxed.

Could you imagine tendering at the port? What a nightmare that would be.

Yes, you board via the gangway right onto deck 3. On our first cruise, it through me for a loop when we got to the first port though. I thought we always went in and out of Deck 3, not Deck 1. :rotfl: Foolish Jeff.

Do I....no where to sit except the hard floor, if you wanted to queue.
