I think the standard color for DIS is neon green, but I'm open to any color. If we want the color of a Konked Kooler (not sure what that color is) we can do that. They also have a "glow in the dark" band (it doesn't say there is any upcharge for it).

If you click here: https://reminderband.com/specs.php, you can see the colors they have to offer.

As for the saying, we are limited to 25 characters including spaces, with Reminder Bands (the one with the 3 sizes). It has been requested that we include at least "Oct" in the date since the non-US DISers put their day in front of the month (i.e. no 10-20-07).

My thought was "Konked Kruisers Oct 20, 2007". But, if my counting is right, that would be 28 characters including the spaces, 3 over the limit. We could cut the day off and go "Konked Kruisers - Oct '07".

The last thing we need to determine is if we want the saying colored in. This would make it stand out and readable without getting right on top of the wristband. We chose not to do this on the cruise I went on that had these. Some people colored them in but did not like how it looked once they did. I'm fine either way. Not sure how readable we want it. It would be an extra $.25 per band to color it in, so the total would go to $2.35 per band before mailing from me to you.

I'm open to all request, comments, suggestions.

Jeff - dont worry about the date - it was just a thought - if it takes us over the spaces just stick to whatever you like. I'm happy with anything. I like the neon green - at least we'd see each other with those on, and I dont like the idea of the letters coloured in. I prefer them the same colour as the band.

Whatever they turn out like I'll buy them:confused3 - just another little souvenier of our cruise:cool1:

If you want to ship all the UK ones to one address I dont mind forwarding them onto the other Brits if it will make it easier for you. (that is if I know where I'm living by then:rolleyes: - still no moving date:mad: )

Morning all...just a quick hello today. I'm off to the doc to get my knee checked out. It's not hurting bad at all but there is still a little twinge in it and I don't want to make it worse on the treadmill, so I am going to the doc to see what I can do. I am hoping he says that I can take motrin and get on the treadmill without damaging the knee. I think I may have said this before, but my mom had both hips replaced before she was 60, so I really want to treat my joints properly so I can avoid that. No pixie dust needed here, friends. If you have extra, give them to Karen's sis or Mike or Nancy or Brenda, as I am throwing all of mine their ways............pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Y'all have a great day. Try this all you gym rats.....Each day while I am working out, I will try to meditate on one place on the Magic that I would like to be at that moment. Today my place will be a barstool! Karen, Linda, are you joining me? Anybody else?

How about a big hug instead if you dont want pixie dust:hug:

By the way, save me that bar stool next to yours:goodvibes

I always imagine I'm in front of the castle on a really quiet day when hardly anyone is there and the sun is shining and the sky is blue, and theres no annoying show going on in front of the castle:rolleyes: - geez that cinderella thing bugs me - it ruins my photos:eek:

Anyone following the EB Med Repo?

There was a link to a blog on the "live from" thread. If you were wondering how rough the seas were, take a look at the Quiet Cove Pool pictures they posted (this was yesterday, not while they were out in the Atlantic):

:scared1:

I've been on the boat when the water was making waves, but nothing like this.

Holy cow - look at that pool!!!!! - I'm suprised they havent shut it if its that bad.

Questions for the group:

What type of digital camera do you have?
How much zoom do you have and how many megapixels is it?
What do you like about it?
What do wish was different or just don't like about it

I'm looking at getting a super zoom camera and not sure what to get.

To answer my questions above:

Kodak Z700, 4 MP, 5x Zoom. Like the feel and ease of use and the 3:2 aspect mode. Don't like lack of zoom (although it is better than 3x) and lack of Image Stabilization.

Canon 6X0 (can't remember), 6MP, 3x Zoom. Like the small size (Suz really wanted the slim camera) and picture quality. Don't like short zoom and having to crop pictures (no 3:2 - have to compensate on top side of framing).

I want to get one that has 10x zoom or larger, but with Image Stabilzation. The two we are looking at are the Canon S3 IS and the Kodak Z712 (or Z612 to save some $).

I like the ease of use with the Kodaks as well as the fact that they have 3:2 aspect mode (no cropping for 4x6 prints).

Canons on the other hand are great cameras.

I just want something easy to use, that takes good pics, with a long zoom w/ stabilzation and sports mode (mainly getting it for DS's sporting events).

We have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01

3.6 OPTICAL WITH A LEICA LENS
6 MEGA PIXEL

Bought it last August for a freinds wedding and upgraded from a 4 mega pixel.

I love it. It does sepia, black and white, allsorts of modes all at the flick of a button. Its tiny and light weight with a massive screen on the back so you can view your piccies really easily and see what you're taking.

Oh and one feature which if fantastic is the anti shake ability. You can be wobbling the camera and you still get a sharp photo. We have tried actually shaking our hand and taking a photo and it always comes out clear.

It does portrait, soft skin, scenery, sports, night mode, self portrait, food(thought of you then Brenda - food porn;) ), party, candlelght, fireworks, starry sky modes, baby, snow, and high sensitivity modes all built in to the camera.

Oh, and it does short movies too.

We compared this to the Canon when we bought it but prefered the Panasonic.

Hope this helps:confused3

Cass, I'm impressed! An hour on the elliptical and so late at night too yet? Can you sleep after all that exercise?

Nancy, it's the only time I have to do exercise. I'm not a morning person so I just couldn't get up before Kira does and exercise! Most nights I almost back out cus I feel so tired but I eventually talk myself into it  It takes me an hour or so to come down from the high but I don't go to bed until about 1 or 2 am anyway.

Does anyone know the EXACT procedure at the Orlando airport for Budget's Fast Break members? I tried asking a Budget employee on the phone the other day and she seemed confused.

Do I go directly to the parking lot after picking up my luggage or do I stop somewhere inside first?

Yup, used it several times and LOVE it! After you get your luggage, cross the street to the garage. As soon as you enter the garage (That's why I love Budget! It's right there! You have MUCH farther to travel if you rent with Avis!!!) there is a little booth with attendants. There are two little queues, one for customers who have stopped at the desk in the airport and the other for Fastbreak members, go right into the Fastbreak line and give them your confirmation number and they will give you your paper work and keys! It's so easy!

Keep up the good work Cass!!! You're an inspiration!

Thanks! It took me a LONG time to find my willpower by now that I have it, I am confident that I can do this :)

Morning all......... whoops its actually afternoon now. ive been a good girl and been to the gym this morning! Well done Cass for the hours excercise ! :cool1:

Good for you Linda!!! :cheer2: It's hard to start exercising but it feels so good once your done huh??

I have 15 responses, 2 of which were "no thank you", but of the 13 that want them, we are up to 53 and one person said yes but didn't respond back with sizes. So, since we need to order in increments of 5 per size, we are looking at 60 bands, minimum. We will be at the $1.95 price break for the bands and shipping is just over $9.00. So cost before mailing to everyone is about $2.11 (let's call it $2.10).

If anyone who hasn't responded is interested, please shoot me a PM and I will add you to the list. I'm just trying to get a feel of who wants them and it is not a committment at this point.

I still have about 10 people that I haven't heard from. Not all of them post on a weekly basis and I may send individual PM's to them. But, since most of the "regulars" have responded, I think this may be a go.

We need to determine the color we want and the saying.

I think the standard color for DIS is neon green, but I'm open to any color. If we want the color of a Konked Kooler (not sure what that color is) we can do that. They also have a "glow in the dark" band (it doesn't say there is any upcharge for it).

Jeff - I'm happy with neon green and keeping the lettering the same color!:thumbsup2 and as long as it says Konked Cruisers I'm Happy! However, I will be happy doing whatever the group decides.:goodvibes Maybe we need a new yahoo poll?????

I like the idea of green also. I agree with Karen and Missy about the lettering being the same color as the bracelet. As for what is says, Konked Kruisers Oct. '07 looks good to me. Thanks for all the time you have spent looking at these. I'm looking forward to searching for all these bracelets in the terminal!!!

I think we will be going with Konked Kruisers (with a K). Am I correct in assuming that is how we have labeled ourselves?

I think a poll probably would be a good idea. I'll try to put one up there (maybe 2 - one for color, one for saying).

2 new polls up on Yahoo. Please go vote.

One is for the saying and the other is for the color.

Thanks.

Holy cow - look at that pool!!!!! - I'm suprised they havent shut it if its that bad.

Look how far that person had been pushed by the water. It has to be at least 5 feet.

I remember DS in the Mickey Pool when it was sloshing (sp?) around, but never anything like that.

Looks like the skies are pretty grey in that picture, not sure if they are having some storms.

Just voted:thumbsup2

When is the poll closing? Will it be before Heather gets back? Has she ordered?

Should I pm her as this is important info or will it be ok anyway cos its on yahoo site?

She has indicated that she wants the wristbands.

I won't be closing the poll anytime soon, but I think we'll have a consensus by the time she gets back.

The DIS meet time/place poll looks like it is complete by the way. 16 votes with half gong to one option. I don't think that will change. Although, if all the losing votes got together on one time, it would be evenly split.

Here's another pic from the "live from" repo thread. This time the Goofy Pool.

Thanks Cass. That's EXACTLY what I needed to know. Here's another question though. Do you think it would be ok to pick up our keys, drop our luggage off in the car, lock it up and return to the airport terminal to wait for the kids who are coming in 1 1/2 hours later and will then rent their own car?
I think as long as I have the keys, then no one else can take it right? Are we actually assigned a certain car? At Alamo we just take any car that has keys in it. (Sorry, that's more than one question isn't it?)

Brenda oh Brenda, where are you? Better question..how are you? Any word yet?:confused3

Hiya! Getting ready to go take a walk while the laundry is getting done. Today's visit has resulted in more tests next month after we get back from Florida. Still in the "we don't know exactly what's going on" mode.

Thanks for asking about me, everyone, and thanks for the dust stuff. Allow me to shower all of you in return with some... pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I guess I'll have a lot to catching up to do in June, eh? ;)

Camera #1 Nikon Coolpix 2100, 3x zoom 36-108mm optical, 2.0 Effective Megapixels, 14 easy to use scene modes, and quick time movie. Zoom is 4.7-14.1mm 1:2.6-4.7. Uses a CF memory card. I love the size of the memory card because it is large and does not feel like you will break it in half, and it is harder to loose. However, I hate the camera. It runs off 2 AA batteries. I have never learned all the functions of the camera because I can only get between 30 and 50 pictures to a set of batteries. It was costing me way to much for batteries.

Camera #2 Kodak EasyShare Z650. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT> 6.1 Megapixels 10x optical zoom, runs off 2 AA batteries. Uses the SD card. Has more functions then I know what to do with but it does have a sports mode that is excelent. It also has easy share capabilites.

Hope this helps you some.

Thanks for replying to my questions.

I love my Kodak too. It is so user friendly. I think that's why I keep coming back to them.

If I remember correctly, this one doesn't have an Image Stabilizer. Do you notice a need for one with the zoom?

I've looked at Panasonics before and honestly didn't look at them this last time searching. Don't know why.

When I researched for work a few months back, I actually bought them a Panasonic (I think it was the TZ1 - 10x with stabilizer - very discounted now).

They do have good stabilizers.

I will have to see what they have out there right now.

My only drawback is the lack of 3:2. They do have 16:9 though.

Thanks for replying.
