Another hour on the elliptical....a little less junk in the trunk! :lmao:

Ok, if this multi quote works its gonna be the size of a house - I'm trying to cover 4 pages of catch up

LOL! :lmao: Top of the class? Nah, I don't like it there...then there's no room for improvement! :rotfl:

Let's see...

Montreal is the second largest French-speaking city on Earth (after Paris).
It has great food! Montreal is known for:
Smoked meat sandwiches, crusty sesame bagels, pizza, pea soup and Poutine. (It's a good thing I don't live there anymore, I might be 400 lbs!)

There! How is that?

Very good effort - go st by Jeff at the front of the class:goodvibes Whats poutine?

This is a pic from this morning:

The other day I needed air conditioning and today we get this!!!

Waaaaaay to cold for me - I'm a lizard like Brenda - I like heat.

mike and robin[/QUOTE]

She's in my prayers. Hope it all goes well.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I have all mine booked :woohoo:

Stop showing off Lindy Loo;)

This is Robin...

I am finally able to get on here for a few minutes. Thanks so much for the sprinkles.

Our next few days are going to be rough. Mike's dad has emphyzema and has to carry oxygen at all times. He walks about 20 steps and has to sit down. So, I think we're going to have to take him to and from the hospital because he's not going to be able to walk from the parking garage to his mom's room. (Not to mention changing his oxygen tanks.)

When he gets upset or anxious he gets worse, so this week is going to be tough. We're hoping he doesn't end up in the emergency room. (At least we'll be at the hospital.)

I had a funny story to tell everyone, but I'll tell it to you after all of this is over. Now doesn't seem to be the time.

Once again... Thanks for the Pixie Dust.

Robin

Oh my goodness, what a week ahead of you. Lots of hugs coming your way. We're hear if you need to offload - I've done it often enough

You would always be welcome to stay with us!!!! That is if I can understand you when you ask to visit!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

"What she say?..is she speaking australian?":lmao:

O.K. Here's my geography lesson on Racine.

Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan.
Main ethnic groups: German, Italian, Danish, and Armenian

As previously mentioned we are famous for S.C. Johnson--both my parents worked there. S.C. Johnson is a family company--in its 5th generation. They brought in Frank Lloyd Wright to design a family home and the company's headquarters--both of which are amazing!

The thing we are most famous for though is our Danish bakeries. We are a town of 80,000 people and we have a ton of bakeries. Their most famous product??? Danish Kringle--a racetrack shaped pastry that you can get with all kinds of fillings. The most poplular being apple, pecan & raspberry. I am most partial to the apricot, almond, or pumpkin. They are a big treat to out-of-towners, but I think most people who live here are pretty sick of kringle because you get it everywhere. (very fattening, as well!!)

We saw a bit of Lake Michigan when we were in Chicago. Those Kringles sounds delicious. I think everyone has heard of Johnson - the family company.

Sure, here's a picture of our house. It's not much, but it sure is homey!:rotfl2:

:lmao: :rotfl2: I know, I know!!

I'm sure Chuck won't mind "rolling" out the addition to accomodate you and the family Karen.

Looks like a nice home Nancy:rolleyes1

Does this work for you Karen?:) Click on History.

Its like something out of a movie! - how cute!

Nancy, I am the only one in my family that speaks french, despite all of my siblings being raised in Montreal. I used to be completely bilingual but I haven't spoke french in almost 17 years, so I've lost a lot but can still get by quite well. I plan on putting Kira in french school so she can have a second language so I will pick up a lot of my french again when she's in school and I get to help her with her homework :) Rob would love to speak french but alas, cannot :sad2: He tries really hard, but I have to laugh sometimes  He's really cute though when he tries :goodvibes I've taught him a few key phrases that we always say to each other (in fact we have some french inscribed on our wedding rings) but it's not an easy language to learn!

I did french at school. It was the le, la les, female , male thing that confused me:confused3 - never mastered it in 5 years

I was born here.....

History of Dewsbury
Betty Boothroyd, a national figure in politics, was born in Dewsbury. She began a career as a dancer, became an MP and an MEP, and rose to become the first ever female Speaker of the House of Commons. She retired as Speaker in 2000.

This Lady is the women a lot of you yanks may have seen her on TV saying "order, order" when it kicks off in parliament....BUT to me she was one of my mothers closest friends when they started in the mills aged 14 and she and my mam would travel on the bus my dad drove for FREE.....There was no mention of fare dogging in her best selling autobiography either....
:

I'm sure Betty Boothroyd was was a friend of my late Nans. Did she live in the midlands for a while?

Mike and Robin--prayers coming your way. Please let us know how your folks fare through this ordeal.

Nancy--prayers to you, too. As I said to Mike and Robin, let us know your results and how you're doing.

Brenda--I haven't forgotten about you either! Have a great trip!

Cass--beautiful pics! I can speak a little french, too....well, it's a Cajun french---and most of it is curse words.:lmao:

As for my hometown, Delcambre, LA. Not much to report--about 2000 folks reside there. Before Hurricane Rita, the population was about 3000-3500. It is a small shrimping community about 15-20 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico. Yes, Rob and I were able to understand every word uttered by the uncle in "The Water Boy.":rotfl: Some of the best food you will ever taste is in the nearest larger town--Lafayette, LA! It's Cajun Country, baby!:joker:

Glad to see you here again Paige. I thought we lost you for a minute girl.:)

We have all five of ours, thank goodness. But we were told by our TA that they were required for this trip. Did I miss something. Now we just need to go get state ids for the kids this summer and that will all be taken care of.

I believe there was an extension granted because of the overflow of people wanting passports. Since we are sailing into Cozumel, as opposed to flying, we would still be ok with our birth certificates and id's. Someone plz correct me if I'm wrong.:upsidedow

Cass, I'm impressed! An hour on the elliptical and so late at night too yet? Can you sleep after all that exercise?

Great pics of my niece, Kira. Love em'! Karen, I promise no to "munch" up both her cheeks. I'll leave one for you.:cutie:

Does anyone know the EXACT procedure at the Orlando airport for Budget's Fast Break members? I tried asking a Budget employee on the phone the other day and she seemed confused.

Do I go directly to the parking lot after picking up my luggage or do I stop somewhere inside first?

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

It is at the Magic Kingdom. You need a special ticket for it. Everyone dresses up (Characters included) and they have special fireworks and parade and pass out candy. I think it pretty good and we would have gone if they had it on the 19th this year. However, Disney chose not to have it that Friday. The only one in they AREN'T doint it in October. :sad2:

We were also very disappointed by this. :sad1: We have been in the past and it really is a great time!!! Amazing fireworks and a great parade! Oh well, maybe next time.:sad1:

Hmmm, at this rate I could snag another page of my own.:)

Good morning, afternoon, evening, or night depending on where you are;) Kyle says thank you very much for all his birthday wishes. Talk to you all tonight, hmm or is that morning :confused3 Have a good day, or night:confused3

Jeff - how are the wristband replys going???? Thanks for all your efforts!:thumbsup2

Jeff - how are the wristband replys going???? Thanks for all your efforts!:thumbsup2

I have 15 responses, 2 of which were "no thank you", but of the 13 that want them, we are up to 53 and one person said yes but didn't respond back with sizes. So, since we need to order in increments of 5 per size, we are looking at 60 bands, minimum. We will be at the $1.95 price break for the bands and shipping is just over $9.00. So cost before mailing to everyone is about $2.11 (let's call it $2.10).

If anyone who hasn't responded is interested, please shoot me a PM and I will add you to the list. I'm just trying to get a feel of who wants them and it is not a committment at this point.

I still have about 10 people that I haven't heard from. Not all of them post on a weekly basis and I may send individual PM's to them. But, since most of the "regulars" have responded, I think this may be a go.

We need to determine the color we want and the saying.

I think the standard color for DIS is neon green, but I'm open to any color. If we want the color of a Konked Kooler (not sure what that color is) we can do that. They also have a "glow in the dark" band (it doesn't say there is any upcharge for it).

If you click here: https://reminderband.com/specs.php, you can see the colors they have to offer.

As for the saying, we are limited to 25 characters including spaces, with Reminder Bands (the one with the 3 sizes). It has been requested that we include at least "Oct" in the date since the non-US DISers put their day in front of the month (i.e. no 10-20-07).

My thought was "Konked Kruisers Oct 20, 2007". But, if my counting is right, that would be 28 characters including the spaces, 3 over the limit. We could cut the day off and go "Konked Kruisers - Oct '07".

The last thing we need to determine is if we want the saying colored in. This would make it stand out and readable without getting right on top of the wristband. We chose not to do this on the cruise I went on that had these. Some people colored them in but did not like how it looked once they did. I'm fine either way. Not sure how readable we want it. It would be an extra $.25 per band to color it in, so the total would go to $2.35 per band before mailing from me to you.

I'm open to all request, comments, suggestions.

Morning all...just a quick hello today. I'm off to the doc to get my knee checked out. It's not hurting bad at all but there is still a little twinge in it and I don't want to make it worse on the treadmill, so I am going to the doc to see what I can do. I am hoping he says that I can take motrin and get on the treadmill without damaging the knee. I think I may have said this before, but my mom had both hips replaced before she was 60, so I really want to treat my joints properly so I can avoid that. No pixie dust needed here, friends. If you have extra, give them to Karen's sis or Mike or Nancy or Brenda, as I am throwing all of mine their ways............pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Y'all have a great day. Try this all you gym rats.....Each day while I am working out, I will try to meditate on one place on the Magic that I would like to be at that moment. Today my place will be a barstool! Karen, Linda, are you joining me? Anybody else?

Jeff, I don't really have a suggestion. I will go along with what everyone else wants........Have a great day and thanks for taking this on.:hippie:

Anyone following the EB Med Repo?

There was a link to a blog on the "live from" thread. If you were wondering how rough the seas were, take a look at the Quiet Cove Pool pictures they posted (this was yesterday, not while they were out in the Atlantic):

:scared1:

I've been on the boat when the water was making waves, but nothing like this.

Questions for the group:

What type of digital camera do you have?

How much zoom do you have and how many megapixels is it?

What do you like about it?

What do wish was different or just don't like about it?

I'm looking at getting a super zoom camera and not sure what to get.

To answer my questions above:

Kodak Z700, 4 MP, 5x Zoom. Like the feel and ease of use and the 3:2 aspect mode. Don't like lack of zoom (although it is better than 3x) and lack of Image Stabilization.

Canon 6X0 (can't remember), 6MP, 3x Zoom. Like the small size (Suz really wanted the slim camera) and picture quality. Don't like short zoom and having to crop pictures (no 3:2 - have to compensate on top side of framing).

I want to get one that has 10x zoom or larger, but with Image Stabilzation. The two we are looking at are the Canon S3 IS and the Kodak Z712 (or Z612 to save some $).

I like the ease of use with the Kodaks as well as the fact that they have 3:2 aspect mode (no cropping for 4x6 prints).

Canons on the other hand are great cameras.

I just want something easy to use, that takes good pics, with a long zoom w/ stabilzation and sports mode (mainly getting it for DS's sporting events).
