Heather Did you leave for your cruise yet? Have a wonderful time on your Alaska cruise!!!! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back.

So I did the same thing for our youngest DD. I bought most of hers over a year ago and bought them 2 sizes bigger. I had her try them all on and it looks like I either need to learn how to sew :confused3 to take them in or buy all new dresses in smaller sizes. :headache:

I got our DS two sport coats over a year ago. I guess I should have him try them on. I don't think the one is going to be a good color on him so we might be down to just one sport coat. I still need to find him a tie and slacks. I guess I should get on the ball with his shopping.

Hah I was just going to get on long enough to email my DH and check the posts. Now I am on posting, ebaying, drinking a cup of tea and reading a book:surfweb: . I guess I am not getting off anytime soon.

Hi Carrie I'm still tryingto get caught up and I noticed you're on her too now. I still have about 20 pages to go to get caught up. It's a good thing I work the late shift tomorrow so I can take a nap tomorrow if I stay up here to late .

I know that we can have those magnetic signs on our room doors, but will the allow us to tape up banners. I would like to get a b-day banner for our DD's b-day and put it on the door. Is this allowed?

I got ahead of myself with shopping for the kids clothing for the cruise. I got our oldest DD her formal dress about 2 months ago and her semi-formal dress about 6 months ago. I like to buy on clearance. I the semi-formal 2 sizes bigger and the formal 1 size bigger. Well I caught her playing dress up in them this evening and I don't think either of them will fit come the cruise. :sad1: Now I have to start over at looking again. She is the one that is hard to shop for because we don't agree on styles.

I sure know what you mean about not agreeing on styles! I hate shopping with Rachel because not only do we no longer agree on styles for her but she doesn't like alot of the styles I would like to buy for myself either. I finally learned though not to buy her any clothes when she is not with me because chances are she will never wear them.

Hello Cheryl

Take your time at catching up. Everynight except tonight I have had at leat 10 to 15 pages to go through. I love catching up on everybody but it sure does take some time. :)

Hi Linda,

My apologizes to you.
I have been totally crazy lately. May has been an extremely busy month for some reason and I have had to temporarily ignore anything beyond June.
I have gotten your Emails and I assure you I will get back to you probably in the next two weeks as things will be quieting down for me in June.
We should be able to do the function you are requesting. I can check on it for you but wont be able to actually confirm anything until 30 days prior.
I appreciate your patience and will be contacting you shortly.

Thank you,

Dorothy

It is so frustrating. Now that Kelsey is with us full time it is easier to shop because she can go with me, but I have rules on clothing and I think the rules are just making it more difficult. The styles she likes I hate and the other way around. She goes for name brand, brand new, when I go thrift store anything cheap.

So Kelsey mentioned that her and Rachel have been talking back and forth. I think that is great. I was hoping she would make some friends on this trip.

Does everyone on here collect the disney trading pins? We have never done them and don't have any so I was wonder if it is a big thing on the ships and if I should get some for the kids.

The only reasons we have not woren that dress in ten years is because you men don't take us anywhere fancy enough to wear those dresses. That is why we like cruises so much because we can dress up in the clothes we never get to wear.

:thumbsup2 Carrie you said it perfectly!

In our case we are hiring one of those lugage guys at the airport to haul our stuff around.

Al would like one of those luggage guys to lug our stuff out of the house and into the trunk of my sister's car for the ride to the airport and then another one to pack 5 peoples luggage into the mini van that we will be sharing with our friends when we get to FL :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We are cheating. We are taking the super shuttle to the airport so the load all luggage into the van and out of the van out the airport. Then we hire the luggage guy. My father refuses to use this guy so he is carrying his own bags. When we get into FL we will hire another guy to have it delivered to our hotel where we will have the bell guy take it to our rooms. We have never done this before. But with 7 people we figure there will be 7 carry on's, and 5 to 6 suitcases. What are we supposed to do.

OK OK, you got me, I admit that the DD's have me wrapped around their pinkys. The youngest for sure. For some reason I do not understand the 12 1/2 DD (according to her). But 30 is a good age to start dating, right?

The joys of having a teenage (or almost teenage) daughter. Rachel just turned 13 last week and she is always saying "dad just doesn't get it" . I totally agree 30 is the perfect age to START dating!

No, we don't work for the government........:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
We actually work for Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We are located half-way between Richmond (the capital of Virginia) and Washington, D.C. We work in the Radiation Oncology Department (cancer patients receiving radiation therapy treatments). We are both Dosimetrists. (WHAA???......  ) A Dosimetrist is the math and physics nerd that actual does computer programming to determine the best treatment plan option for a patient based on type of cancer, location, what vital organs might be in the path of the beam, etc...........Nothing important......thats why we can focus so much on the DIS.:scared1: :scared1: (just kidding...)

Missy and Lori

What very important jobs you have!! But I'm jealous, you're lucky you can DIS while at work! The hospital I work at heavily monitors what the internet at work is used for and it is not to be used for anything not work related  They don't even want us using the internet during our lunch. The only time I can DIS from work is when I stay there while on call but I am not on the clock and then I can only "lurk" and not log in and post.

I have one more website to look at and then it is off to bed for me. I am falling alseep on the chair and it is not very comfy.

:guilty: I have gone as far as writing a list for each person on what clothes to pack and what suitcase to put things in. I was getting really depressed and not doing anything for the trip the past few months but now that I have all of you I am back into the swing of things.

I actually made a list of what we each wore on our cruise last Oct. when we got home. I thought maybe it would help me not to overpack for a change for this cruise (Al is really hoping :lmao: ) I am famous for overpacking, my brother-in-law even made a not so nice comment about how many suitcases we ahd when he picked us up at the airport last year and now that Rachel is getting older she is even worse than I am about bringing too many clothes that she never even wore. I am really going to try and "help" limit her this year.

I'm glad Rachel and Kelsey are getting to know each other. I wasn't sure how much time she actually had for emailing this past week or 2 because she has had a lot of school projects that she has been working on. She does seem to check email as soon as she gets home from school almost every day.
