Can anyone please explain more about Palo. I know it is more of an upscale place to eat without the kids. I have heard that it cost extra to eat there, is this true and if so how much. Is it recommened by a lot of people. I was trying to spend out money on things for the whole family but I am reading oybolshoi trip report and she makes brunch at palo sound so great. I am all about food. I have never done a brunch so I was thinking this might be the way to go. Any input would be nice.

Am I to understand oybolshoi correctly, there are scrapbooking supplies in the shops on board. I have never scrapbooked, but the kids are all making their autographbooks and shopping for that stuff made me realize that I want to do it. So I told DH as soon as we get back I am buying up the store in supplies and going hog wild. Could I actually start on the ship, hmmmm:goodvibes

Palo is an upscale place to eat, with an additional cost of $10 per person for dinner and again for brunch. If you like different kinds of foods, I would highly recommend brunch, if you like upscale Italian (mostly) food then I would suggest Palo dinner.

Yes, there's some scrapbook stuff onboard. I would recommend you buying the items you want early in your cruise. I checked on Wednesday of our last cruise and the DCL SB kit was already sold out. Good thing I did my DCL 2005 Scrapbook digitally! :rolleyes1

There's also free stuff that you can collect throughout the week, check in your stateroom for stuff like note paper, post cards etc. You can collect drink coasters, luggage tags, navigators (extras at Guest Services) etc.

Cass, Thank you so much on the input and advice. Italian is nothing new to us. So I think I might talk DH into brunch, how do we know when good time is to make a res. We are all about trying new foods, so this sounds like the way to go, and only for $10 each.

I will have to hit the store as soon as it opens. Anything Mickey I have to have. We are bring an empty suitcase with us just for all the stuff I am hauling back home. I will look for all the little extras.

How are you tonight?

Does anyone know if the aerosole cans of sunblock travel well. The ones that you just spray on and there is no need for rubbing in. I would like to get a few for the trip but I don't know how they will do in the plane, they have to go in the checked luggage.

Thanks for the update Karen. What is your sister's first name? I have two
"Karen's sisters" that I'm keeping in my prayers and I don't want the Big Guy upstairs to be confused.

Her name is Sandra, thank you for continuing to chat to the Big Guy on her bahalf:hug:

Karen, I'm glad that you heard from your sister. And that there was a communication problem. So maybe knowing that now you can feel a bit
better.
I'm sorry to hear that she is not feeling good and no news on the donor situation.

I will wish the best for her:hug:

I do feel better that she wasnt ignoring me cos my blood was no good. She still wont accept any help or ask for anything, but I'll still offer weekly and hope oneday she'll say yes. When we move we'll only be a few streets apart - 2 minute drive, so perhaps she'll feel like popping over for a visit with her hubby - only met him twice - the day they told us they'd gone and got married and the day my dad had his accident. Hopefully we can get a bit closer.

Karen & Brenda:

I just booked a 6:10pm ADR for Cindy's Gala Feast at the Grand Floridian on October 17th so that hopefully you get your Wishes cruise for that night, we will be nice and close to meet up with you guys prior to your cruise

Is that still a go...a l'il mini-meet before your cruise so we can meet Brenda & Jason???

I cancelled the cruise - the people off the Dibb - 2 families - one never answered my messages and the other one changed her mind so I gave up. Our schedule is so busy this trip it didnt seem worth the hassle trying to fill the boat again. We'll be in Magic Kingdom that day and night watching wishes from there, and MGM and watching Fantasmic on the 18th.

Talking of schedules, maybe for those of us that are there a few days before we cruise we can try to have a mini meet somewhere.
If we all post our schedule of where and when we'll be perhaps we can get together with some of you lovely people.:grouphug: Even if its just to put faces to names and a quick hello if we're in the same park.
I'll post our schedule later and see if anyone is around and about at the same time.

I need to meet Brenda and Jay at some point so I can become Plankys Auntie for the week on the cruise. I hope Planky realizes he's in an inside cabin with no window!:scared1: - no frills or luxury with Auntie Karen:lmao: , but he will be very well looked after:goodvibes

The good news is that all the work was completed at the house this week with little additional fuss. :thumbsup2

Great to hear the house work went well. :thumbsup2

Oh no! No Wishes cruise for you two??? :sad1: That was the one night that our schedule was fairly open so that we could meet up. Well the 18th is sorta open in the late afternoon too. Hopefully we can get a little thing going for those of us on the cruise who wanna catch up with you two! :upsidedow

Hopefully our schedules will collide and we can meet up.

Our schedule is not set in stone and is likely to change, but if anyone happens to be in the same parks on our days and fancies a quick hello let me know and we'll do our best! It doesnt have to eat inot your day a lot cos we're all on a tight shcedule trying to fit it all in, but a mini meet by the pineapple dole whips sounds like a good plan:goodvibes

But...If no-one wants to meet me - I dont care:snooty: :sad1:

Karen love with the ability to formulate a schedule like that i can't help in thinking you've missed your calling in life, you'd make a fine Rupert in Her Majesty's armed forces...:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Karen dear your more than welcome to bring plankie over to sample ones triple balcony and a glass of something....:snooty:

How is brum this morning dear?....we have clouds and a little wind...

Sorry to hear you have wind Chris;) .. yes its cloudy and dull here, but we have no wind (which is rather strange cos I had a curry last night:eek: ):rotfl2:

Its actually quite good - I have chicken tikka - dry with a mini portion of bombay aloo - (curried potaotes with no oil.) I was even on WEIGHT WATCHERS wine yesterday  and only drank half the bottle as apposed to my normal bottle and half:rotfl2:
