Am I at 200 yet?

Kinda cool. Will we be able to see the Launch?

Kinda bites. I wanted to be aboard early! I'd hate to be caught in traffic.

Not sure how heavy traffic is on a launch day. From what I've read on the main board, it does get busier those days.

I guess it also depends on what time they launch. An afternoon or evening launch would be cool because you'd see it from the ship.

I've heard of cases where they'll circle the ship for a while so that they will be close for the launch instead of way down the coast.

It would be cool to see, but it never seems to launch on the first date anyways.

Just checked the NASA site again. It was updated this morning and the date was listed as Oct 20, 2007. However it has a "+" and a "*" next to it.

The "+" indicates that this is what it is "targeted for"
The "*" indicates that it will be "no earlier than" that date.

You'd have to check back in a couple months to see where it is at.

Now the STS-118 is the 118th shuttle mission and it is currently set for August 9th. I don't think that will get pushed back to late October. That one will be the Endeavour.

It looks like they swapped missions for Discovery and Atlantis so that they can keep on schedule. It looks like this will be the first mission for Discovery this year (and its only one).

Looks like everyone is gone, so I will put up my 900th post on this thread and call it a night.

Talk to everyone in the morning.

I just have to clear the days off at work and then I and my family will be booking the Oct 20th cruise. It will be me Lisa, hubby Mark, daughters Caitlin (18) and Emilee (16). Debating between a cat three or 6.

Welcome to the asylum...:rotfl2:

ps....If you do go down the Cat 3 route any chance i could off load some of our "new friends" into your room as were now upto 23 "guests" in ours........:rotfl2:

Yes, that's fine. An F-18 would be our choice! Ooooh maybe a Harrier would be better?:)

Good choice, thier so easy to park ain't they?.....:lmao:

Not trying to get anyone's hopes up because these things always change, but did anyone look at this website?

Welcome to your family !!! As you see we are a chatty, crazy bunch here! but we are quite safe ;) . Your family will certainly enjoy this cruise, we have only cruised the 4 night Wonder before ( last Oct) and that was great! We come from the UK, Im Linda ( will be 40 by thre cruise) Wayne my DH and Elouise our DD who will be 5.

Lori,

I notice you are from Virginia. Everyone OK with your family and your friends?

Lori trust Nancy to notice where you were from, shes so observant :thumbsup2 sorry I didnt ask sooner if you were all OK. Im glad I read on, and read you are all OK. What a shocking incident, and how sad. Prayers are with all families caught up in this tragedy.

Wow im not really into shuttle launches and stuff but that would be way cool !!!    and educational for the kids too !

We got our disney 21 day tickets in the post today !!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

each time something arrives or some ADRS are made, it makes we feel soooooooooooooooooooooooo happy !:) :) :) :) :) :)

Another piece of good news for me..... Elouises school had an OFSTED report conducted on the last month. (OFSTED is a standard gov agency that goes into all schools and measures the effectivness of teaching standards etc)
The school scored 1's ( the highest score) in EVERYTHING!!!

This puts them in the top 5% of schools in the UK, including private ( fee paying ) schools!

We are so pleased. We knew it was a very good school. As Karen can tell you the house prices in the UK can go up ALOT if the local school has good results. However we did look at a private school, that got mostly 1's in its report last year. The fees were alot and we decided it was better for me to be an active part time mum, and go to a local school, than be a full time working mum, just to cover the school fees. Im so pleased we seem to have made the right decision.
The only bad thing for your friends are, that once the school gets a really really good score, EVERYONE tries and gets their kids in there. And at times they have to turn children away. There are only 17 people in Elouises class, but the OFSTEd report said the school could take up to 30 per class! :scared1: so next year, the class sizes might increase as people swop their kids schools.

OFSTED are hard to " cheat" or "bluff" as they observe, and talk to kids, who have a way of telling the truth! However it does seem weird to me that EVERYTHINg was a 1- outstanding ! :confused3 nothing to work towards :confused3

Morning fella,i bought myself and my other half a ring on our visit to ST martins in 2003....had some problems due to sizing instore but had the diamonds valued in Leeds and the gent said they were "beautiful" stones and when i told how much I'd paid the bloke asked me if I'd worn a mask when paying...."a yorkshireman and his cash are hard to separate".....I do wonder weather i should do a trip report for the rings as we bought them, took them home, sent them back and they then spent the 12 MONTHS flying around the world before we saw them again....:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

i know all about yorkshire men and there money i work in yorkshire , ( airedale general hospital ) maybe you know it?

so i could be spending some off the folding stuff on this cruise then.
