Happy Easter Abby & Family!!

We stayed at the Hyatt the night before our last cruise and it was a fantastic choice. :yay: Pricey but fantastic. I, myself, would want to be in Florida at least one day before the cruise. Maybe that's just me though. I'd feel better knowing that I was just a stones throw away from the ship on cruising day rather than in Wisconsin.:boat:

I don't assume there will be weather issues in October in Ohio but I would just be a little concerned about flight issues if I left on Saturday.

That's my honest opinion and I'm stickin' to it.;)

Happy Easter everyone...

Even you Jeff. :rotfl2:

You know... the problem when talking on the computer is the true emotion gets misinterpreted.

Anyone who knows Mike & I knows we don't take life that seriously... So don't sweat it everyone.

Two things Mike has always said laughingly is "I may be ugly, but I married a hot babe." or "I married out of my league."

I think we all just have to remember to put in our little emotion icons.

I am positive that Walts comment was a joke also. (Thanks Walt :) ) Sorry you got pulled into this.

We are currently scheduled to fly in the day of the cruise. Does anyone think this will be a problem (coming from Dayton, OH where we have lots of flight options that morning) or would we be better off coming in the night before? I thought I had this all figured out months ago and now I am second-guessing my decision. I have to work and the kids have school Friday but we can catch a non-stop out around 7pm. We live down the road from the airport so it's not a hassle for us to get a late flight. Then I figured we'd stay at the Hyatt since we'll get in around 11pm. Give me advice so I can make a decision! :headache:

Have a good day everyone!

 Since you live so close to our daughter, maybe you could bring her with you.

We haven't made any plans... no airline reservations & no hotel reservation. We just can't decide what we're going to do. (drive or fly) The ideal situation would be to fly in on Thurs. night, go to MK Fri. and take DCL bus to terminal and fly out on Sun. after the cruise, spending Sat. after the cruise at MK.

Who knows... We need to find a decent fare to help us make a decision.

Happy Easter everyone! :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Too bad about the ice cream maker Karen...I wish I could package some up and send it to you because, if I may say so... it's fabulous. I may not be a great cook when it comes to other things, but I have dessert down cold! pardon the expression ;)

Argie will update tomorrow night...I have to comfort Jason on this most difficult of days. Remember what his Uncle told him about the Easter Bunny when he was 7?

PS. WE'RE OUT OF KONA COFFEE BEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1:

Abby,
I would never fly in the day of the cruise, even if my flight is only an hour or whatever (mine is about 8 hours on two planes! ) just for the chance that they may lose my luggage! Imagine going on the cruise with no suitcase!!! :scared1: My luggage was lost once, coming home from Vegas. Thank goodness it was coming BACK, not going THERE! They accidentally sent it to Toronto and I didn't get it back for 7 days!!! How can you lose luggage for SEVEN days???? :rolleyes2

Anyway, it's up to you and you'll probably be fine, but I know I could never do it!! :rolleyes1

I am getting the distinct feeling that MK is your favourite park...

Happy Easter everyone!

Cass and Rob, Kira is so cute and sweet! I love her Easter picture.
Cass, you're very creative with the photos. Do you have a career in anything relating to graphics, computers, photography?

well robin is back from her business trip so all is right with the world.
we booked the captain marvin excursion with walt and di. its exciting to have an excusion booked. thinking about checking into the dolphin thing next.

We are definitely booking Captain Marvin's too! Been there, done that....
Can't wait to do it again!
Although, too many stingrays swarming around me was a bit creepy, but my DS loved it! Although I was a bit freaked, I did the initiation thing ......and kissed a stingray!

No doubt about it. Since I may only have one day to spend there, I choose MK. Anytime we go to WDW for any length of time, our 1st day is at the MK and our last day is at the MK. (always) Like many of you. It's just like home. :woohoo:

Mike & Robin,
Yes we are doing the Dolphin Encounter at Chankanaab. I called them directly and booked it (spoke to Miguel, loved his accent!). You can also book it directly with Disney. When I booked the Encounter it cost us $79 per adult but now looking at their website, they must have raised their prices cus it's listed as $87.80 per adult. You need to pay for a taxi there and back and park entrance, which with the prices increase is almost the same as what Disney charges you $110/adult.

Couple things to note:

Booking through Disney, they say it's only available for ages 3 and up. But I was able to book it for Kira as their website says ages 1 and up!

There is also the Dolphin ROYAL SWIM, which is different from the ENCOUNTER. You get to do more stuff with the dolphins and is $139/adult but you cannot book the SWIM through Disney, only directly with Dolphin Discovery.

Here's their website:

http://www.dolphindiscovery.com/activities/dolphin-encounter.asp

We are booked for the Encounter for 3:30 pm.

I am fairly certain Bob Sean and myself will be trying out the Dolphin Swim too. Has anyone done this before?????

Also, as far as an early meet goes, we're not flying in until the 20th, so I guess we'll meet everyone at the terminal or onboard.

Which brings me to my next posting.....

I think I'd be a little freaked out too. Especially after hearing about the freak accidents that have happened with stingrays in the past.

I would really like to snorkel with some colorful fish.

We've flown in from NY for 2 cruises and got there, no problem in plenty of time. We've also flown back the same day both times.
We are this time also. Since we only have a week off from work and Sean is missing an entire week of his senior year, we can't take off any more time.
We'll be home by 6 or 7pm Saturday night and this will give us all of Sunday to unpack and unwind.

So anyway, no problem flying in the day of. I would think that from Ohio it shouldn't be too long of a flight or problem. I would just fly early.
We're leaving Syracuse, NY at 6am and will arrive in Orlando by noon.

Hi everyone. Happy Easter!

Nancy, are you in a sugar coma after going without for 6 weeks? I am!

We told our kids this morning that we are going on this cruise instead of the one they thought we were going on--Summer 08. Oct 20 was really just a dummy date for us, but when we realized the 7 day cruises were going to be in Cali in Summer 08, we decided to stay with this date--and I am so glad we did! I can't wait to meet all of you, whether it be at a pre-cruise meet, or on the ship.

Anyway, my kids are absolutely thrilled! We sat down and discussed excursions today, and it kind of brought a tear to my eye because it made me realize that they are really getting older and have opinions about what they want to do and where they want to go. It was great--no arguments (for a change) and lots of reasons to back up their opinions on different excursions.

So, this is what we have come up with.....so far....in Key West, we will do some walking around on our own, Pirate Soul, Butterfly Conservatory, Southernmost Point, Mallory Square. In GC, we will do the pirate ship and a little shopping. In Coz, we will see the San Gervasio Ruins and go to one of the beaches (they are very excited to do the iceberg and trampoline).

Have any of you done the Ruins and beach on your own? Should we go on our own? Book through DCL?

Oh, and another thing.....I am little sad today because today is the day that my middle child, Derek, 11, found out about the Easter Bunny. I think he has been wondering about it for quite some time, but today, he was just too full of questions and comments and I didn't want him to ruin it for my DS7. It took me forever to confirm his suspicion. I just didn't want to let go of that childhood innocence. When I later told my DD13 about the incident; she said she felt sorry for him because it is so much more fun to believe. I agree!

Y'all have a great night.............SOPRANOS start back up tonight!

omg now your daughter can finaly get a user and she can meet others that are going on the cruise and we can all be friends :hippie: i was wondering  what her name  is agiain o:woohoo: oh well i will find out soon enough.:rotfl: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Hi Katie--Her name is Emily and I will have her check out the kids' thread soon. Can you post the link one more time?

Thanks.
