Thanks Linda! Every time I checked the WDW site today it said the times were all unavailable.

Thanks Brenda, you jinxed it.

I got the "temporarily busy...." warning but then hit refresh and got in.

Now it's running slow.

Only 8 days in the parks! Yikes we use to have 21 last year................ so trying to fit it all in is IMPOSSIBLE!

so far I have

Thur 11th arrive settle in, pool etc

Fri 12th EMH Typhoon Lagoon, Epcot late ?

Sat 13th MGM Early

Sun LOEM MK ?

Mon 15th AK EMH pool/shopping the MK for the night?

Tue 16th Am Epcot

Wed 17th Universal

Thu 18th MK EMH

Fri 19th IOA

Sat check out of hotel and go cruising! :)

Not sure if to squeee in a MNSSHP ? more money? and we did this last year, so not sure its worth it!:confused3

When we arrive back on Sat 27th do we do Sea world ( get a free tix for next day ) do Sundayy leave 3pm to get flight home.

Wow! Great plan! My original plan was to do a week in the parks and then f/u with the cruise, but my wife politely pointed out that our son would be in 1st grade by then. I had to do a major re-think. I'm very envious!

My Mom has just booked us on this vacation....

Are there any 8 year old boys that are going to be on the cruise with me??

My name is Spencer and I am getting very excited about going but I am hoping there will be friends to play Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.

Please write back soon.

:cool1:

Spencer, my son, Alex, will be 1 month from 8 yrs old, so I think he will join the kids in the Lab for this cruise. You know, there is a kids' thread where you can see who is going. I don't know what the link is because my kids don't know about the cruise yet, so they haven't posted on it. I'm sure someone will chime in to let you know how to get to that thread.

Linda, that sounds like such fun! We're not doing WDW this year since we are already taking the kids out of school of the week of the cruise........

Watch out for us in 2008, though!

Hi all!

Yep those Oct hours came out! Yah!

We'll probably only do MK & Epcot in Oct. Looking like we'll do Epcot on the 18th after we arrive. Then MK on the 19th, with a possible trip back to Epcot for the evening EMH. On the 27th, we'll probably hit Epcot again, especially if we don't do the EMH on the 19th.

No MNSSHP this time around. Gma & Gpa won't be joining us at WDW, just the cruise. So, we'll have no babysitters with us.

Heather, my Katie's b'day is May 20. What a great day!

Paige, that school system schedule sounds convenient. Sounds like you could schedule some family vacation times during some not-so-peak travel times.

Tina

Good morning everyone and a big welcome to our newest cruiser members :welcome: :welcome:

My ds Ellis will be just 7 so he'll be in the 5-7 club.

Lindy - thanks for letting us know about the park hours. I need to sit down and start thinking. Like you say - so little time to fit in everything this time round. WE HAD 17 DAYS LAST YEAR AND STILL ONLY JUST DID EVERYTHING:scared1:

I have to work out what passes to buy first. that will dtermine the schedule. Not sure whether to buy 21 days passes when I can only use them for 9 days. I'll have to work out whats the best way round it all.

We didnt do universal at all last time, cant decide if we want to do it this time eithe now Kong has gone:sad1: - that big dusty old ape was my favourite.

To use emh do you have to be onsite? We tend to avoid the park with emh as its usually the busiest by the time we get there. We have only ever made it once to rope drop - epcot to do Soarin. We also dont eat onsite much either cos of adr's everyone makes theres never any slots available on the day. We managed to get a car in MGM sci fi last year and that was about all!
Everywhere else was choccablock full:scared1:

Hopefully being October it will be a lot less crowded than easter though:confused3

Anyway, gotta go...

where did the sun go? We were going bike riding this morning - (not in the bl**dy rain I'm not:eek: )

Typical - school holidays = bad weather:sad2:

Ellis is making his very own volcano today (if the rain ever stops) - vinegar and bicarb of soda. He thinks he's a sientist! - bless!:teacher:

Hi Spencer, welcome to this thread.

There will be plenty of people to meet and play with on this cruise. Everyone is VERY freindly and nice.

I have a daughter called Elouise who is 5. She often plays with boys aged 8 to 10 yrs, so im sure you 2 may have fun around the pools etc. I think you will be in different clubs. She made great friends with an 8 year old boy last year on the cruise. Also Ellis is Karen Mouses son, he is 7. :thumbsup2

Have a loook for the kids link on this thread, pop over and say Hi, they are all really cool!

Have you cruised before?

What are you looking forward to doing ?

Linda

Karen, yes you do have to stay on site to use the EMH. We were in a villa last year, so we avoided the park that had any type of EMH, and it worked a treat !

This year we are going to try and do some of the early magic hours, but getting to the parks for 8 would mean we would be up at 6.30am :scared1: and that doesnt happen often even if we are at work and school, let alone on holiday!

The late magic hours, we arent so sure on... Epcots late hours last year, were PACKED!!! we only went back to use a Fasspass tix for Testtrack, and it was heaving !

As for adrs, its people like me that boook all those spaces Karen... sorry!

We phone on exactly 180 +10 and book ALL of our resort meals.

We love Chef Mickeys, Princess breakfast at Epcot, Crystal Palalce, and 1900 park fayre. We dont eat in the parks everyday. But we do enjoy a sit down in an air con restuaurant, and cooling off a bit !

We are going to universal and IOA as E loves these parks. We also love eating in Sweet tomatos. ! Yum! and Bahama Breeze.... on I drive.

off to the park for a picnic with friends... take care all

Hi Lindy - I avoided the emh parks last year and it did make a difference. The one day though we deviated from our schedule and ended up at MGM on emh day - geez - you couldnt move!

We normally make it to the parks about 9am (along with he rest of Florida:rolleyes: ) Even when we're up early it still seems to take us forever to get to the parks:confused3 . Do you breakfast at the hotel or on route to the park? We usualy get weetabix for Ellis and Neil and cheesecake for me with a cup of tea and we're off! We used to like Dennys etc but it takes so long that half your morning has gone by the time you get to a park.

You go ahead girl and book those adr's! - I'm just too lazy to spend an hour on the phone long distance:rotfl: - I'll take whats left on the day and be happy about it:goodvibes

We did ohanas character breakfast and enjoyed that, but once I've eaten a big meal in the day i just want to sit and do nothing not ride coaters and rides all afternoon.

Never tried sweet tomatoes. Quite a few have recomended it to me. Is it all veggie or is there meat too? - Neil isnt keen on veggie food:sad2: As for Bahama Breeze - YUM!!!!!!!!! - ITS GREAT ISNT IT! - We ordered way to much food last time though. We went with Neils parents and we all ordered starters and mains...the waiter laughed and said "you'll never eat it all - he was right - we got through about half. We were too full for dessert so we didnt get to try their famous key lime pie.:sad1: - this time we are staying at the Fairfield after the cruise - (1 minute walk to Bahama Breeze):woohoo: - I'm determined to try their key lime this time.

Elouise likes U and IOA? Does she like coasters? Ellis will just about go on splash mountain and screamed on the drop. Hoping he'll be a bit braver this year so we dont have to kiddie swap so often.

Lastly - you're going to the park today! - whats the weather like up by you? Its freezing here today. Really cold. Just finished Ellis' volcano in the garden and we're all sooooo cold now.

We had 2 volcano eruptions today in Birmingham

and heres the second

The lego man made it out of the way safely, but the dinosaur got caught in the lava flow and went head first into it - ouch - no wonder they are extinct:rotfl:

Please note the "round moon rock" in the corner - otherwise known as a xmas ornament off the garden xmas tree.:goodvibes

Morning Linda/Karen,

You've been talkative today.

Like the volcanoes Karen.

Did either of you notice that the number of rooms available on your cruise has gone down to only 3 categories? Cat's 4, 8 and 10. I know over the weekend, they had all but Cat 12 available.

The cruise is either filling up or maybe you guys go upgrades.

Really? - the last time I looked they definately had cat 11 and 10 cos i got a quote for both. I wont start doing the "upgrade " dance just yet....oh s*d it ...yes I will!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: - I pray for a window:rotfl:... no...actually I pray for Walts suite;)

I'll tell Ellis you liked his volcanoes:goodvibes

Anyone doing the pirate encounter at Grand Cayman? I think it looks cool for the kids (and big kids;) ) - I'm hoping for some good looking Jack Sparrow types. I hope theres spaces by the 75 day mark.

Its all you repeat cruisers and concierge types - not jealous - honest;)

What about the Chankanaab (sp) dolphin thing? I'm scared but its for 3 years and up so it cant be that scary! - anyone done it? do you just let them swim around you and they touch your legs as they go by etc? Ellis said he quite fancies it so I might be brave enough - at least its not fish:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: - no way could I do it with fish - ewk:scared:

What would happen if I backed out last minute? Do you all go on the platform together? or is it a few at a time?

Definately doing our own thing in Key West - pirate museum, maybe hire an electric car, and wander round the shops and a nice restaurant.

Castaway - fancied parasailing but Ellis is too young:sad2: - kids have to be 8. I fancied the island tour but its 2 hours - bit too long for me cos you have to be back onboard by 4ish?

Can you tell I've been trawling the disney cruise website:rotfl2:

Sheets pitched the whole game today. I don't remember the last time that happened. He only gave up 2 hits (one in the 9th and the other early for a HR). I'll probably catch a couple of the games this year.

Has someone got an idiots guide to Baseball. I hope to catch a game when we're in California in June. I get the general idea and even though I've watched loads of movies based round baseball, I still get a bit confused.

Karen - have a look at our website - www.grumpyoldsod.co.uk. There's a couple of video trip reports which include Chakanaab. Should give a general idea. Apologies in advance for anyone taking offence...all done with tongue in cheek, I promise.:flower3:

A group of about 12 stand in the water on a platform, waist deep with life jackets on. They bring the dolphin up to you. They don't swim round your legs. It was an amazing experience. I don't think you would get a refund if you backed out at the last minute.

Anyway, let me know what you thought of the video.

Heather

PS - the guy in the trip report is Dave, our friend 'TheFatMan'.

Good morning! I wanted to pop in and say hello before vanishing for the day...busy busy time at work and at home.

Linda...you and Wayne will be starring soon in the Argie-Bargie (whenever I can spare a few hours for an update).

Jay and I changed our WDW dates seeing as all our cruise money is now being spent on the house...we're going to arrive at WDW on October 15th instead of the 13th.

I know all of you are going to be busy, but I was hoping to put together a PB&J meet before Karen's Wishes cruise...whenever that might be.

What you ask is a PB&J meet?

Why, it's Plankton, Brenda & Jason!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm being selfish but I'd dearly love to meet up with as many of you as I can before the cruise, even if it's only 15 minutes of "Hi, how ya doin? Enjoying your time here? So nice to meet you and have a nice cruise!"

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Heather, what exactly are you looking for? I can ask Jason tonight when he gets home - he's Mr. Baseball.

I know a lot, but not like him. :thumbsup2

Which team are you going to try to watch? For what it's worth, I'd suggest going for a National League team (Dodgers, Padres, or Giants) because the American League style of baseball is deadly slow and boring (that would be Anaheim or Oakland).
