We just booked our first cruise, on Magic, Oct 20, 2007.
Been reading the passporter, and the anticipation is overwhelming.

Hope to meet some of you there.

Jeff,
Have you officially cancelled the cruise yet? I ask because I hold, in my hands, a winning lotto ticket and I'd be happy to toss you a few bucks WHEN I win. (How's that for positive thinking Robin??):thumbsup2

I love it Jeff.:cloud9:
Keep feeling it. In the past 2 months we've come in to a sizeable amount ourselves. (Not lottery size, but we'll take it.) Good luck to you.

Welcome dizneycrazy4. Looking forward to talking to you.

Robin

Wow, you did your homework. Good job.

I'd like to be on here more, but I work 8 to 5. You know how it is, you get home, eat dinner, excercise, and it's 8:00 already.

At least I'm excercising (gotta get ready for that cruise). Now I have to get used to doing it in the morning before I go to work. (That's a tough one.)

Walt & Di...

Where are you? I know you guys were getting a lot of rain down there. I hope you didn't get flooded out. :scared:

WELCOME!!!! :welcome:

Another Wisconsinite. Are we back in the lead over the UK? Doesn't matter, the Wisconsin cruisers don't seem to want to post lately. Actually, none of the cruisers want to post lately. Only non-cruisers. :rotfl:

Hey Brenda,

I think they are just getting us ready for what it will be like when they are actually cruising without us.

You may be on to something there... I guarantee without my flapping yap it will sound much quieter on the Magic come October.

Who's going to drink all those mochaccinos in my absence?

Hi Diane:wave2: - nice to see you posting. If you read regularly please pop a "hello" message on once in a while. Us noisy chatters think we've frightened everyone else away:eek:

Hi Robin...do you mean you cant cook, exercise, do housework and post on the Dis all at once?;) Good job keeping up the exercise - its killing me but I'm trying hard. The thought of my bikini keeps me motivated:rolleyes:

Good morning everyone else:grouphug:

WELCOME dizneycrazy4! And WELCOME to yet another Wisconsinte. That makes 5 of us (6 of us unofficially...Jeff). You'll find reps from Menomonee Falls, Menomonee Falls again, Hartland, Muskego, Franklin and Racine. You will find this thread full of information (both good and bad:lmao: ) and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We also have a few seasoned cruisers here who will be able to answer just about every question you'll ever have. I know when I was a 1st Timer, the DIS really paid off.:) We are affectionally dubbed the "Konked Kruisers". So when you see someone post KK's, that's what it means. We are also playing a game of DIStag which is explained elsewhere on this thread. If you're interested I'll find the page for you to read about it. We also have our own secure website for you to post personal info on and see the info on others. This website is by invitation only, so let us know if you want in on it and an invite will be sent via email to you.

Wow, you did your homework. Good job.

Robin

I didn't really do any homework Robin, but, I do believe in the power of positive thinking (most of the time). I also positively believe that we'd like to hear from you more often even if it's after 8:00!!:)

Good morning Karen and all KK's.

HELLO!!!

Off to meet an old mate for coffee and a natter......:chat: :chat: :chat: :chat:

Natter? Natter? I think I'm a pro at that!! (No comments from the non-cruising peanut gallery)!:rotfl2:

Karen or Linda,

I think I remember that one of you received not one but two DCL upgrades already?? Sound familiar to either one of you? If so, tell me about it please. The kids are hoping for one although Kristin is rather partial to her "anti-sea-sickness" cabin already. She wants and doesn't want an upgrade but knows Jesse would like one.

Also,
Anyone know anything about the Disney Visa? Is it true that if you pay off your cruise with it that you won't have to pay interest for 6 months? Or...is that only if you used the card to "book" the cruise in the first place??

First, A welcome to our new cruisers! Glad to have you!

Second, when you book any Disney vacation with your Disney Visa you get 6mos of 0% interest. But be careful, here's how they get you. If you do not pay it off in 6 mos then you get charged for all of that 6 mos interest. Also, if you use the card in that 6 mos period of time then any payments go toward the portion that is paying interest and not the interest free portion. so if you charge a $1000 down on a cruise then another $1000 for a new television. Then over the next 6 mos you make $167/mo payments you will payoff your television but will not have paid any on your cruise, then at the 6 mo. mark BAM! you have a huge interest bill! Have to be careful with that card!

Hi Steve, great to hear from you !

Nancy, we got an upgrade, by one grade last time. We loved the room so much, we booked eactely the same room this time ! :cool1: We just gor told when we went to check in. :confused3

OK natter over, loads of gossip about people who use to work with me at Next!.
For UK cruisers Net mid season sale is next Sat and Sun. Not a big sale ( Thats July... ) but incase you wanted to know.

I love my mate, she queued in London ( Harrods) yesterday to get me an Anya Hindmarch bag yesterday. ( They limited it to 2 per person!) There are all over E bay for TONS ore than they cost, but Im happy to be a cool chick today and use my bag with pride ! :goodvibes

GAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you noticed that when the boards are down and you can't post that you feel strangely DISconnected??? :scared1:

Anyway, now that the 6-hour glitch appears to have been fixed (for now) I just thought I'd say hello to anyone who hasn't completely given up on this site today. ;)

To add to what Steve has said about the Disney VISA, if you pay your bill in full every month, not counting the 0% portion, if you have any returns on the account, they will eat into your 0% balance. So if you are looking at paying it off at month 5, lets say, because you have some money coming due, you may be reducing that amount little by little every month.

Also, don't pay ahead for an expense that hasn't billed yet. I got nailed on this one. I bought something for work (a LOT of purchases for work go through my Disney VISA - usually amounting to over $400 of Disney Credits per year. Actually maxed out on Disney Dollars one year. :scared1: ) and I put it in for reimbursement right away. Got the check and paid down before the billing. Well, when I got my bill, the payment went towards my 0% and then I had to come up with that payment again when the original charge was due (I pay in full every month).

Now what a lot of people do, and we just did this, is get a second card. Do only your vacations on one and use the other for everyday purchases. Plus, you get double the sign up points. :thumbsup2

I would say, however, there are much better cards out there. If you plan on buying a car every 5 years (or have repairs - it's good for that too), look into the Citibank Driver's Edge card. The first year they give you 6% back on Gas, Grocery and Drug Store purchases. 1% on everything else. After the first year, you get 3% on those items. Max credit is $1,000 per year and those 3 areas are probably the biggest spending areas.

But if you like to have that extra for Disney expenses, then get the card.
