October 2021 Car Rental Thread

I have a week long rental 3rd week of October for $195 with Avis. I think we lucked out with some savings not picking the car up at MCO, we have a few days before our Disney trip at Universal, and since we don't need a car for that part of the trip we're able to pickup at our Universal hotel before heading to Disney.

I've got a mid-size SUV with Thrifty that a month ago was $600. It's now down to $350. This is for 5 days in Mid-Oct.

I am taking Magical Express in September, but have October plans into JFK. Today, i was able to get a full size rental through National for 6 days for $335 total, and not prepaid. I used a link through my credit union. Try all discounts you can find and qualify for. I think things are getting better.

Out of nowhere Hertz has the lowest rates for me during Anniversary week. I have a STD SUV 9/30-10/8 $445. Delta frequent flyer code:165385 and coupon code 192021

Hertz has never been a thought for me, they've always been SO HIGH compared to leisure travelers. But this popped up through autoslash in my rate tracker.

Just booked Hertz 10/22-10/29 $330.97
Med Sedan, CDP Interval International (timeshare)

Unfortunately, the two previous Hertz codes don't do anything for my price. It's still stupid high for the last week of Oct.

What was an $800 rental two months ago is down to $365 as of today. That's using Thrifty through Autoslash.

Just rebooked with National through Autoslash, $295 for 5 days in a VW Jetta, I'm hoping that I can grab an SUV from the Emerald Aisle when I get there.

Just looked, and while Alamo is lower than it had been, still $200 more than what I originally rented for. Still hoping.

Following along to get an idea how rates are going to be closer to my trip in January. I'm hoping the rates go down the closer you guys get to your trips. I secretly wish we were going in October (it's my favorite month) but we wanted to avoid the heat and the crowds for the 50th.

I have two coupon codes for Budget. The 25% off one came from Budget themselves but I'm not sure where the other one came from, just so you're aware.

Budget BCD S341840

Coupon 25% off D419806

Just looked at Alamo. The price is lower, but still $200 above our earlier rental. Still hoping it drops, but not a lot of hope.

keep hoping that car rental prices will drop before our October trip, but doesn't seem to be happening. Current prices with discounts are still $200+ higher than our current rate. Wow!

Keep checking, had some movement last week for upcoming trip on 9/25

today 8 days, Small SUV for upcoming trip on 9/25 @ $220+ (factor in extra day @ $20+ for this rate).

I have a short trip but was able to get an intermediate car with Hertz through AAA for $192 all in from 10/1-10/5. I previously had an economy car booked with budget through the UCT 50% off deal as I had booked one night off site through them as well. but I cancelled both the room and car since I got a DVC room for that night on site. That was the same dates for $165 but I prefer to use Hertz so I can skip the line and go right to the car. Worth the $27 more and it's a larger car. I'll keep stalking of course!

I just saved $162 on my rental for late Oct. Used the over 50 code from hertz. It is still absurdly high but it's getting better. My extra days are killing me.
