OCTOBER 2016 Car Rental Rate Watch Thread

I did just now. I was able to pull up my reservation that still shows the rate with the code, but if I try to book a new one I get an error message. ???

I'm getting the same thing, and the new rates are almost double what I currently have reserved. I still see my current reservation under my account, so I guess I'm just leaving it alone for now.

I'm currently at $236 all in for a full size, Oct 8-17 TPA Pickup/MCO drop off using the BJ's code (similar to Costco pricing, but I have a BJ's membership), the $25 coupon, and the possibly now defunct AS1 code.

Typically 5 days pops up as a 'weekly' rental. A great rate considering current pricing.

When did you book & with what Corp Id/coupon/code?

Does anyone have advice for a short rental? I swear I checked a few days ago and I got $60 total but now it is $140.
Dates are 10/1 (plane gets in 10:45pm) to 10/4 (plane leaves at 10:30 pm)
Every code I try does not work for a short rental. Do you think it's worth starting the rental 10/2 at midnight? I don't want to hang out in the import but we might try..,does anyone know if you arrive early that they will definitely charge you the whole extra day?
ETA: trying Alamo first as I am an insider. I'd prefer to just go to a kiosk....this is for two adults, compact/cheapest car

Anyone have any good codes for a mini van rental for 10/6-10/15. I haven't found much and the $450+ cost is making me ill! I'm too afraid to book anything smaller since I have 3 kids in car seats and we already have quite the squeeze in our CR-V.

Believe 2 hrs plus w Alamo triggers full day
Otherwise an additional hrly charge
I find best deals for shorter rentals via Priceline

Sounds like I got a good price awhile back! $311 for a mini van for 10/27-11/06! It's still pulling up pretty decent using corporate code: 7016220. Which is the Orlando MagicCard..you can download it for free (around $350 now for those dates).

I booked Alamo, right now but it is $158 for 10/1-4. Looking at other sites too, I just don't want an off property shuttle situation

Got a mid-SUV for $233, Oct 25-Nov 1. Costco, they put their own $25 coupon on it (just used Costco website, did not enter any codes myself). I consider this pretty good. Will keep checking for less. I had reservation with Vegas Brazil and $25 coupon, for one day less, for $20 less, cancelled it. We added a day to trip, and switched reservation to Costco, now that price dropped there, 2nd driver free is nice.

I just got a great rate with Avis through BJ's website, $70 less than my original reservation with Alamo.

Worst case, we'll take DME to the resort, Uber/Lyft around the world, and Uber/Lyft to the port. We shall see.

I have been watching the August thread, a lot of folks have been reporting no issues with the AS1 code.
