OCTOBER 2016 Car Rental Rate Watch Thread

Good deals on my May rental now carry thru for October. I'm up in air as to extending trip, so have 'a few' res booked lol

weekly rate tho coming in on Oct 1 is now $104 for compact & $131 for midsize

$50 off weekly coupon $AD4004JDK

I switched to the DVC corporate code from Vegas Brazil.

Pick a code that works well for you, then add rate code AS1 and watch it drop:magnify: . should be the same as VB or in ballpark, without any pesky CDW.

good hunting all

Keisha - can you post or PM me the DVC code? Or where you found it? I would be interested in the AP code as well if that still exists too!

Go to mousesavers.com use any of the contract ids for the airlines it's free membership. I used contract ID for Delta as well the $50 off coupon code and rate code mentioned in post 1. $182 For a minivan for one week in October. Good Luck!

not sure if it's ok to post those codes here or not as per DIS rules...i need to be 'good':rolleyes1

just google, they pop up. Wouldn't use either of them tho if not qualified/have ID in hand. As referenced above, the rate code is bringing most corporate codes down dramatically.

I have both an AP and DVC and have goggle a bunch - I found AP (doesn't change my rates at all), but I would like to find the DVC one as we don't always have APs.

I just used the $50 coupon with the AS1 code and my Costco code, and my total is now over $30 less so THANK YOU KEISHASHADOW :thanks:. Only thing I want to ask is if you know where the coupon and the rate code is from? I looked on Google and didn't find too much info.

I can get to $176 with VB and $191 without for our October week, but I really just wanted to find the DVC code since I haven't found it on the member page anywhere.

The $50 coupon is an Alamo coupon from 2011 that for some reason is working again. AS1 is an Alamo Insider product code. I used both myself for this August. Since both are from Alamo and no CDW included you should be good to go.

Try the $50 coupon code (AD4004JDK) and the Product code (AS1) previously mentioned by keishashadow. You will get the same rate as the VB code, but both the $50 coupon code and the product code are both Alamo's so they should give you no potential problems using them.

when you go to modify an Alamo res. you will see whatever rate code listed. A smart DISr (n2mm :) ) noticed that when they inputed said code into non-vegas brazil rates, the new one was now producing rates similar in price without any CDW risk.

there was some discussion in this year's may thread re costco and checking without the AS1, can't remember if rate was lower or not, might want to go take a peek.

Actually - this doesn't work for me. With VB, my minivan has CDW and additional driver and is $176. With just AS1, my minivan has no CDW and no additional driver for $191.

My trip is 10/5 (10am pickup) to 10:11 (6pm drop)

Sorry I misunderstood.

did u try various corporate codes including the alamo insider one?

all up to you, but being $25 more over VB rate & (even better), not saddled with CDW or additional driver would work for me.

JMHO, but I am not at all comfy with thought of having an accident w/2nd driver operating vehicle while using the VB code and explaining how I am eligible to use that contract ID

Here's a new one. (Yes keishashadow I'm following you). I decided to check out my October rental today. Been busy with the April/may one. So for a minivan for 15 nights I used the $50 coupon, the passholder code and the AS1 product code and got a total of $385, ok wow, that's a great price. So crunching more numbers I used the dvc code and my price went up to $430. Normally when you use the AS1 product code it trumps all other discounts. So if you're a passholder who might be using the AS1 product code try using the passholder code of 15000 to see if that helps get you a lower price. I did look at my August rental (only 9 nights) and there are no codes that can help that price right now, so will wait on that one. Yes I too won't use the Vegas code or product code TS1 because of the cdw being added on....too iffy for me.

thanks n2mm! :yay:using the AP code along with $50 coupon and rate code, the majority of my reservations this year dropped in price.

weekly beginning 10/, now seeing compact @ $91 and midsize @ $116

thank you for all of this info!!!! I just got a mini van for 8 days through Alamo. $220 total including taxes and fees :) I used the $50 coupon, Costco corp ID and AS1 code.
For dates 11/12-11/20. Prior to this I was using a different Alamo code and my total was $409! Whoot Hooot! I am excited!

I just got a full size for $215 for 11 days using the pass holder discount and the $50 off coupon. My dates are October 12-23rd

I just booked a SUV one day rental with Alamo in TPA, returning to MCO, using the code AD4004JDK. That is a weekly coupon, but it booked it for me and took off $50 from the total. I have a rental total of $9.76. Will I have problems when I pick it up or return it? Will Alamo refuse to honor the price I got confirmed from their website?

Can someone help. I have been searching all over my DVC stuff and cant find the code. Also where do I find my Costco code? I am a mess please help. And where do I put in a AS1 code?

WOW!! Thanks for the Alamo info. We only need a car for our arrival day for some off site shopping. Using the coupon code and the product code, I was able to get a mid sized SUV for $7.47 total for one day :worship:! Yes, I said SEVEN DOLLARS....and 47 cents :flower1:.
