I am completely new to this entire experience and need some help.

I am planning our family's first Disney World Trip for October of next year. Should I go ahead and book now, or wait until January to book when new rates come out?

The new rates are already out. I booked for September/October at the end of July :cool1:

Thanks! When I begin to think that I am set I start reading about something else and get confused...:confused3

Welcome to the Dis :welcome:

As the pp said, the rates are out for next year, so you can book any time. If your dates are set and you know which resort you want to stay at, I'd book now. If a discount comes out later for your dates, you can call and see if there is availability at the resort you have booked. If there is, the CM can apply that discount to your existing reservation. Keep in mind that having a reservation already in place does not guarantee a discount can be applied, so sometimes you have to be flexible with your resort and/or room type in order to take advantage of a discount.

HTH :)
