October 2015 Discount Code Watch

Did you guys see this? I saw it on another thread. These are the rumor dates for free dining when it goes live here next week:
Aug 15-Oct 2
Oct 25-31
Nov 8-19
Dec 15-21
I imagine there will be room only discounts too. Again, this is just a rumor from another post. But it presents a problem for me since we check on on the 24th! I wonder if we can do a room only on the 24th and then the package starting the 25? Has anyone done this??? Should I change my reservation now??
Are these dates only for WDW or for DL also?

Yea we're 17-24 so totally missing it. We decided to book at WH again anyway. Honestly as fun as free dining would be we know we'd miss the space. Good luck to you guys!

I am booking for the 25th to 31. Our first two nights are going to be a DVc from my sister for dh's and mine 60th birthday. After that we are meeting up with friends on the 28th until the 1st. I hope that it is for next Friday. I don't have a class coming in until 9am

Is the site credible? I plan on going October 5 and those dates kill me
It's this site - just in the "Fall Free Dining 2015" thread over in the restaurant section. So no idea if it's credible but that thread has gone up 15 pages since noon! I'm surprised so much of October is missing. When we went the first week in October in 2011 we had free dining. I'm hoping the dates are wrong too!

Haven't the first 3 weeks of October normally been excluded from FD in the past? I'll be there October 3-10 so probably no RO discount for me for the second half of our split stay. We're hoping to return December 19th-24th with either a RO discount or BB from our October visit. If those dates are accurate for FD and RO to, we'll probably miss out on a RO discount in December as well :guilty:

If you look back to last yr at least all of october was excluded but the very last week. I've heard some ppl say that Week would also be excluded this yr as Disney is almost booked full (came from a T.A.) We are going that week in october and would be very happy getting a discount!

It just doesn't make sense that's it's almost full because all of the crowd calendars show that last week to not be very busy. I did see the dates for last year, so the rumor for this year makes some sense.

Do you know if we already have a reservation does that make it easier to switch it to the promo because we're simply modifying an existing one? I went ahead and booked a room only for the 24th and then a package for the 25th-30th under my name (other reservation for 24th-30th is in my husband's name). My parents are planning to come too but they're in Florida so they like to wait until the last minute. I wonder if I should get them a room now to make sure we all end up in the same place. Oh, and I also was at ASMovies but the rumor is it's excluded, so I switched to Pop. We're going either way, but cheaper would be better! :cool1:

We're travelling 10/17-10/24 and aren't interested in the dining plan anyway. If I want to stay in the Epcot resort area are my chances of getting a room only discount (AP or general public) slim due to F&W? Right now we're at Beach Club but would be willing to move to Yacht Club or Boardwalk.

I think its just been since last year. We were at POFQ October 19-26 and FD started up again on 10/18. We waited an hour to get on the MDE bus, I think that 3rd week of October (Saturday after Columbus Day) has gotten a lot busier with schools having Fall breaks in October.

I can't remember which website that lists crowd calendars but I remember reading that the weeks before and after Columbus Day weekend tend to be more crowded and then the other week around the 20th is some kind of school break week. I think. So those weeks all tend to sell their rooms decent and Disney being a business doesn't need to offer free dining to motivate people to stay in the resorts.

I'm lucky enough to be flexible, so my dates seem to be ok with the rumor. But at this point we are talking RO and not FD so I'm patiently waiting to see what's up so I can go on with some focus of what I will be doing until October. Geesh. This has been a time suck.

I stayed in 2012 and 2013 at the Boardwalk on an Annual Pass discount in October. In 2014, we stayed at the AKL also with an Annual Pass discount. Looking forward to where we stay this year based on codes! They typically haven't excluded the Epcot resort area in the past, but every year is different so who knows!

Mind if I join in on the watch? We're booked 10/25 - 10/31 at Pop. We usually stay at POFQ but decided to scale back this year. I'm trying to figure out which would be the better deal, RO or FD.

depending on the number of people in your party, FD is almost always a better deal at a Value than room only. RO might be 15% but lets use 20%. 20% x $150 (estimated rack rate at POP) = $30. Probably can't feed you family on $30/day. I am planning on trip in November 2016 for me and my kids, 2 Disney Adults and hoping for FD which for us is by far the best discount; sure can't feed the 3 of us for $30/day.

I crunched the numbers and you are absolutely correct. We may even upgrade to a moderate with FD, it'd be worth it with the ADRs that we have.

Must your entire stay fall within the FD dates in order to get FD, or is it based on check in date??

thanks!
