DH and I are thinking of going to the Halloween party on Sunday, October 25, and CA and a return visit to DL on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27. But we still need to finalize our plans. We'll be there SOMETIME between October 20 and 28.

We've been to DL several times in October in the past. Does the Haunted Mansion still have the overlay?

Edited to add: Drats!!! The Sunday October 25th party is sold out. It was available a few days ago. That's what I get for procrastinating. Tuesday the 27th is still available, but it's $8 more than Sunday's party was. Serves me right. I guess I better act quickly.

The actual ticket phone lines at Disneyland Resort probably had a few tickets for that date in the couple of days after 8/24. Did you call Disneyland Resort, or where did you see that tickets were available a few days ago?

Haunted Mansion Holiday is back -- it comes back every year. It opens at the start of Halloween Time and stays open until early January.

Last year it appears it was closed October 20 through November 6 to install the holiday overlay. I'm trying not to be too disappointed but 30 years ago this ride made the biggest impression on me as a little girl and I was really hoping to share it with my little girls this year.

Our dates are a mixed bag too. 21- 23 Hotel Indigo & 28 - 4 Nov private rental. MHP 31st Oct.

So if it stays closed until the 6th, we'll miss it that end too. Pulling my bottom lip off the ground now....BECAUSE WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It's a Small World is scheduled to be closed from 10/19 through 11/5 this year, so it won't reopen until 11/6, I am guessing. It happens at the same time every year, although the specific dates change from year to year (like last year it was 10/20 and this year it's 10/19, for example).

I could have sworn I saw the Halloween Party available for Sunday, October 25 on the Disneyland.com website earlier this week, maybe Labor Day evening. It stuck out because it was cheaper than the dates surrounding it. Well, in any event, we decided on Tuesday the 27th and bought tickets a few hours ago. But the site still doesn't have the park hours past Friday the 23rd. The other night the hours were only posted up until Tuesday the 20th, the day we arrive at LAX. The lack of published park hours was the main reason I kept procrastinating about buying the Halloween Party tickets. But I'm sure we'll have a great time no matter what the open hours are.

Glad to hear that the Haunted Mansion still has its holiday overlay. Sad that It's A Small World is scheduled to be closed when we visit. I like DL's version better than WDW.

Late to check in but I'll be there October 16-21. I'm flying in early Friday and leaving late Wednesday.

I'll be attending the party on the 19th. I'm not sure what, if anything I'll do for the party. I want to do something, but I may be limited by suitcase space.

I don't have my park days down yet but most likely will do DL on the 17th, since one of the rides I remember from when my parents took me 15 years ago is Its a Small World, and that's going to be refurbished on the 19th.

I also don't have a set hotel yet. I've got a hotel reservation at the ayers suites and another reservation at the Hilton garden grove. I will have a car to get me from LAX.

Things have been CRAZY in my personal life so I haven't had time to do much planning, and up until about three hours ago I wasn't sure if I could really go. The trip is on so now I can go into planning mode a little more.

I just checked our week and it looks awesome! The girls have been dying to use the pool at PPH, so they're going to be so happy we're there when it's sunny and warm!

We'll probably come home to temps in the 50 degree range and fog and rain.

Our girls LOVED the PPH pool, it's one of the reasons we are staying there again. The slide is great, and I like that it has a proper deep end! All pools on site have floatation vests which is another bonus.

I'm looking forward to watching that, going to tonight. Walt Disney was such a great man, this trip to DL I will appreciate that little bit more as my first visit I admit I knew little about him, knew of him but not about him.

"What are you looking forward to most on your upcoming trip to Disneyland Resort?"

I'm really looking forward spending a week with just my husband! Not even remotely guilty about leaving the kids with grandma and grandpa for the week! I can't wait to see Disneyland for the first time...and be able to plan our day around what I want to do and not what's best for my 3 kids. I promise - I am the most involved mom and my days/nights completely revolve around my family and work. This will be the first time we have been away from our children for more than a night! I'm sure it will be weird at first but I can't wait!

I'm so excited! Only 19 more days until we leave. My husband laughed at me cause I started buying snack food for the trip, and said I wanted to start getting our stuff together to pack.

We are going to be at DLR Oct 12-16. Surprising the kids. They have no idea we are going. We are going to Vegas to meet our new nephew and then instead of heading back to Utah we will head to CA. I wonder how long it will take the. To figure it out. The trickiest part is going to be packing for my 13 yr old. Eek.

I'm so excited! Only 19 more days until we leave. My husband laughed at me cause I started buying snack food for the trip, and said I wanted to start getting our stuff together to pack.

We've got 22 days Stephanie and I've started put stuff in the bags/suitcases too. They go back under the bed for now but I'm adding stuff all the same. The medicine pack for carry-on is all done too

I just wrote a long post and it got deleted. Grrrr...

Anyway, this is timely as I was thinking about packing today too. It's $25/checked bag so we're going to keep it to 2 bags. One with toiletries (for souvies on the way home) and one for my and DH's clothes. The kids can carry their clothes in backpacks and DH and I will each have two carry ons (allowed apparently) - a rolling one and a backpack - for cameras and such, and any space we have left over will be souvies on the way home. And duty free, heh.

Bought our PH's & booked our shuttle last night. Now I just need to get a few Disney gift cards & I'm already to go. Except that I'm not sure if I'm going to wear a costume to MHP. I was Minnie Mouse last year. I was thinking maybe cat woman?? Not sure... I saw some stuff on Disneybounding and was thinking about that as well. I'm just not sure... For you that are going to the party dressing up or not?

Husband and I are going to the 19th party. We are going to be tweedle dee and tweedle dum. Our little man is going as Marty Mcfly as it is the big date from Back to the Future 2 (October 21st, 2015), and we are going to Universal that day. Cannot wait! 25 days til our trip, can I pack yet?

For one party, my daughter will be Zarina the Pirate Fairy and I will be Fawn. For the other party, my daughter will be Daisy and I will be Minnie.

I'm going to be Cinderellla in her pink dress once the sisters rip it apart, husband and son are going to be the mice, and for the second party son is going to be a storm trooper, and I don't know what we will be for that party.
