October 2015 Check-In Thread

WE ARE LEAVING TOMORROW MORNING!!!!! OMG I AM SO EXCITED! :car:

It's supposed to rain in Disneyland on Sunday and Monday. GOOD! Maybe it will drive the locals away on Sunday. This will mean that we'll alter our touring plans a little bit so we go on the outdoor rides earlier in the day on Sunday.

I need to go to Walmart this evening and get 3 cheap rain ponchos. And I need to remember to pack a couple of umbrellas. And ODD's boots that she just received as a gift from my sister. And clothes for colder weather. We'll need pants & probably extra socks in case anybody's feet get wet.

Well that changes a lot! I'll bring our lightweight rain coats and grab some ponchos at WalMart when we get there (going to In & Out anyway) and our small umbrellas. Gotta pack socks and real shoes now, dangit.

With luck it won't be too crappy on Sunday.... OH!! Does this mean Fantasmic is cancelled? Because if it cancels because of rain, then I can change my F! meal to just a normal one and save some dough.

Try hottopic.Com they have stores, but online has tons more. Some great disney stuff. Just in the search type Disney. I know you can buy elsewhere, but shipping is outrageous.

Oh I love their Disney shirts. I'm not sure if I am game to order because I am unsure of the sizing. They say girls shirts, not sure if that means like adults also and do you know if they run stretchy fitted or loose and comfy?

They are junior sized, stretchy fitted. I get a size bigger than my normal size.

:-)Here now and HOLY MOLY it is packed! 90 minute wait for Rainforest Cafe (not unexpected). I think every stroller on the west coast is here. Going to brave DCA after dinner, the coronarita will help

Sneakers, Levi's Jeans are usually high on the list for our US trips. I have been snooping on Walmart, they have some nice Disney tees for the kids. I hope to venture over to one whilst I am there or Hawaii as I have never experienced Walmart. We are going to see some of the outlets, maybe Citadel and the ones near DL as well as Premium Outlets in Hawaii on the way home. I already have 2 packages on their way to GC, spending money slowly disappearing before I even leave the country :rotfl2:

Just beware that most clothing (and many products, period) at Wal-Mart are of lower quality. This is fine for kids as they just mess it up and outgrow it anyways! Target is the same type of store, just slightly more expensive with better quality products.

I am sooooo excited; I just booked hotel and plane tickets to go to DLR for my birthday (57th) with my favorite Disney compadre--my brother (10/24-10/27)!!! Too late for MHP :( but I have a birthday dinner set up for CC and WoC!! So, my biggest question is: do I get an AP this year or not? I got my first one last year and visited 4 times and they were all magical! My kids and my husband just laugh, but I am so very very happy about going at Halloween time! First time in 5 years!

My husband and I will be there on Oct. 10- 12. Staying at the Sheraton Park hotel. So excited to see the Halloween decorations as we had to cancel our Sept. trip when my mother fell ill.

Hi! We're headed to DLR the 14th-20th! We are staying at the Embassy Suites South. Planning on having a break nondisney day on Saturday. I have lots of family in the area and we will get together then. Has anyone ever been to the LA farmers market? Wondering if it was worth swinging up there, or just do the beach for a couple hours if the weather permits.

You might want to look at the new AP prices to make that decision.

We are headed there on the 24th! We decided against MHP but did book a character meal instead. We went in August and September as well, and will return in January (we bought annual passes for the first time this summer!).

So, we finally decided we are definitely dressing up for MPH. DD is going As Snow White & I'm going as the Evil Queen. The costumes will be disney bounding style. Now to shop for everything I need :flower1:

We are getting SO close!!! Only 2 more sleeps until we leave. I feel like I am scrambling at this point. This is harder than I thought, because I have to pack for DL without my daughter noticing what I am packing. And I have to make a couple of tshirts on the sly tonight or tomorrow. Add to that, our calendar is over booked the next two days. BUT it's all worth it!

I'm headed your way Mickey!!! :)

These are our finalized plans:

Friday - morning riding rides until 10:40 Minnie Breakfast, Disneyland until around 5 or 6, then headed over to DCA til close for rides and WoC.
Saturday - 8:10 BBB makeover - Disneyland until early afternoon, Lunch at BTRBBQ, then DCA til close and DL til close
Sunday - MM hour, DL morning, DCA for a bit, then closing down DL
Monday - Breakfast at PCH Grill, Anna & Elsa makeover and MHP.

Whew!!! I think this is the most planned out DL trip I have ever had. :)

We (DH,DD13, DS6, grandma 70) will be there October 27-31. We decided not to do the HP, but now I think I am regretting that choice. Oh well, I am sure we will find something else to entertain us, lol. This is a surprise trip for my son, we did the same for my daughter when she was 6 also but she hates surprises now. I agree CassieScraps, it is so hard to not blurt out the secret! He knows we are saving for a Disneyland trip, but thinks we have a long ways to go still. With my daughter, we made it all the way to airport parking lot before we told her where we were going, so fun ("we are going? right now?")!!!
We live in Washington, so the warmer weather sounds great to me. Our last trip was in November of 2012 and it was a little chilly for swimming, but great for walking around.
Have to give thanks for all those that shared the tip about getting tickets from Last Minute Travel Club- 5 day park hoppers for adults= $279, kids=$265!!!

Sorry, i just saw this. They fit pretty true to size. I am anywhere from a 16 to 20 depending on the brand. At Hot Topic I can go xl or 1x. Their clothes seem to have a little give as well.

We are here! Spent the day in Hollywood then drove to Anheim. My goodness, the traffic really is as bad as they say! We were late to our Storyteller's Cafe reservation but they still seated us quickly. It is beautiful inside and the food was good (just had dessert though). I am SO looking forward to tomorrow! I have done so much research but still feel unprepared. I made a lime green mickey ears for our lunchbox, I'm a quiet but friendly person, say hi! :)

2 weeks until we leave! We will be there the 18th to the 24th but since the airport is 2 hours away and our flight is super early we will go down early. After booking everything (back in January!) I realized DD has the 16th off so we could have gone down to DLR a day earlier. As it is, we will spend that day in Denver and maybe hit the aquarium (or the outlets, we'll see who wins that round ;)).
Let me know what you do we will be leaving DIA on the 21st but what like to spend sometime downtown before we go.

You could check out the Hammond's Candy factory tour, aquarium (the restaurant has floor to ceiling tanks) shop (we live in the mountains and the closest mall is more than an hour away so when in Denver I go nuts at the Colorado Mills outlet), take a tour of Coors Field or Sports Auth Field Stadium.
