October 9th-16th. I know the dates are weird but there was a huge savings in airfare that we could not say no to. We are thinking about doing MNSSHP on our the 9th! Planning on CBR unless an amazing discount comes out for deluxe then we will go CR or WL.

Just booked for me and my DH this past week for a long weekend October 10 - 14 at CSR to celebrate my 52nd birthday and our 30th anniversary, both which will occur while we are there. This will be our third year going in October and can honestly say I love everything about being there then!

Something weird is going on the week I want to visit. It's 10/5-10/11 and for some reason, that one week, all deluxe hotels are just about completely booked solid. I mean, I guess it's possible, but it seems really farfetched. There are no current discounts for that time period, and I just find it so hard to believe that 6 months out, all standard rooms at AKL, WL, BWI, BC and YC are just completely sold out...anyone else experiencing this?

Taking our 7yo for her first trip!

Staying at the Contemporary, Park view.. Just like I did back in 1976 when I was her age!

My wife and I have been one time since my first visit back in '76. We went in 1996 or so. I remembered the exact layout of the MK like i had been there just months before.
I was devastated when I found that 20,000 leagues under the sea was gone.. That was my favorite ride as a child besides the Haunted Mansion.

Just finished booking our dining plans for the visit! 179 days and counting!

We are doing our absolute best to not let her know about this trip until we are actually pulling into the resort. She is a smart kid, and I'm betting she will figure it out once we get picked up at the airport though..

Since I'm completely new to this; What are the chances that discounts will come out for that week? (free dining, resort discounts, etc.). We are doing all of this through an agent, and she indicated that it is quite possible something will be discounted.

Hey guys! I just requested to join the Facebook group. We are going back to the World Oct11-17th. We cannot change our dates because it's our kids' fall break, but reading everything from past discount offers, looks like we're probably not going to be lucky enough for free DDP. Boo! Anyways, it'll be me, DH, DD1 (11) and DD2 (6). We went in October in 2012 and had so much fun at MNSSHP and the FW!! I cannot wait to go again. I have been to DW many times since I was a kid, but this will be my FIRST time ever staying on the resort. We are staying at PO-Riverside! We have a Royal Room reserved. SO SO excited!!

Kids are happy, And the count down has started, Taking My mother, niece(15), daughter (16), daughter (13), and daughter (12). All but the 2 young daughters have been to DW. So the 2 younger ones are Very Excited!!

So now when I need something done around the house it gets done. LOL

I guess, I'm in this mindset, too, in a way. The only benefit to booking now would be to try and snag the ADR's at 180 for anything you may really want and to ensure there is a room. However, usually discounts/deals are offered to fill rooms and if we all booked and we're only going if there was a deal, then that would shoot us in our own foot because it would look like the rooms are full...aka, no discounts needing to be offered. Decisions...decisions.

Still having trouble finding rooms between Oct 5-12th. I spoke to about 4 people who keep feeding me the line about how "October has many special events that draw crowds" It's getting frustrating. There is no way, without any kind of promotion, that AKL, BC, BWI, WL, and Poly have every single room booked. There's no way. I can search the week before, the week after. Heck, I even searched July 4th weekend, and there is plenty of availability with an active promotion.

Not sure if/when they're gonna figure it out. But all of a sudden, that week is gonna come, and they're not going to understand why resort attendance is so low. lol Hoping once a promotion gets released, it refreshes the computer systems and the glitch is gone.

Hmmm...Surprising about AKL - as there seems to always be availability. I know for the Epcot resorts, it may be more difficult as they are starting renovations in BC, so YC and perhaps BWI may be finding themselves filling up. I know some who have already reserved BC concierge were responded back to asking if another BC room or YCConcierge would be ok...assuming they are beginning renos.

Additionally, the Gartner Symposium uses a lot of Epcot resort rooms from Oct 5-9th. Some 8500+ people attend this event.
