I had a car from dollar book on a city special from 10-8 through 10-19 for $286. I just rebooked using an AP discount, and an upgrade coupon at Alamo for $246. It is not as good a rate as I would like, but it is a step in the right direction!

I just got an Alamo minivan from 9/29-10/6 for $256. I haven't tried yet with coupons to see if I can better it, but it's pretty reasonable compared to some of the other rates I have gotten...now going to see if I can lower it more!

Rates dropped again! Added 15$ visa coupon AD7567SDK and I am down to 226$ for the week! The lowest I have ever gotten is 197$ for the minivan previous years so this is in the expected ballpark..

there was an argument that people would be grandfathered in if long-time insiders but I'm not confident of the source & wouldn't rely on it. http://millionmilesecrets.com/2013/04/02/car-rental-additional-driver/ Alamo no longer waives the additional driver fee for Alamo Insiders Members who enrolled after May 11, 2014. But if you enrolled May 11, 2014 or earlier can still add another driver for free. perhaps because of longer time period the coupon was invalid. Did you try any upgrade coupon codes? lots listed on car rental savers I typically price out in private browsing & start by inputting corporate id(s) to find best rate. I go back & tack on the coupon code to see if it 'takes'. Lastly I sign into my account (expect if using insider code) before booking it. the insider rate was substantially higher than the WDW AP code for me, however; if it doesn't include spouse as free driver a problem for me. fyi, just modified to an upgrade coupon vs $ off, down to $143.xx for 8 days on midsize...$99 a week pre taxes/fees.

Thanks, I did use the "deals" option on their site and used the upgrade from a mid side to standard and got my rate down another $20. Now at $275 for a 15 day rental standard. Over $100 less than my national rate. I still have about 5 weeks. I also booked a 10 rental for a minivan for $250 for November with alamo.

Just knocked my 7-day Alamo midsize reservation down to $133 total for Oct 29-Nov 5...used the RentalCarMomma ID for 20% off (7013904) plus the free upgrade coupon. Had been sitting on an Avis rezzie at $209 for almost a month, glad to see prices finally start dropping!

Awesome! I was holding a ressie at Dollar for $336 for a minivan (Oct 19-25)-this drops me to $234!

The ID is for rentalcarmomma.com and is open to anyone...they have a member card you can print off[/URL] if you want as well, but you likely won't need it

I am glad I checked this thread when I did. I am currently booked for 10 nights 10/8-10/19 for $246. I just checked again to see if it has gone down at all, and now it is telling me my total would be $634.65. That is quite a jump in just a few hours!

it means exactly what it says: you cannot use the coupon. likely a capacity issue for your dates.

cancelling your reservation is a final transaction in that you won't have that reservation any longer. You can modify existing reservations easily.

not sure what you are trying to accomplish? add a discount coupon to an existing reservation perhaps? if so either log into your insider account or access the reservation via the confirmation email as to modifying it.

said reservation confirmation will indicate the methods you can utilize to check in, whether online, kiosk or counter service. First time rentals and reports of using certain corporate codes/coupons can trigger a counter visit.

There have been some glitches like that popping up. Someone posted that if you use the older version of the alamo website you can at least view or cancel your current ressies. I've used it to cancel some reservations successfully that way. Keep in mind that the rates went sky high last night so you may want to hold off canceling anything until you secure a better one.

since your trip falls late in October, into November, may take a couple of more weeks until you find a better deal, good luck!

These rates are volatile! Yesterday got my best ever rate thru Alamo for $144 (midsize, Oct 7-14). Today I check again and the rates have jumped to nearly $450. Crazy.

This is were I got discouraged last year about 6 weeks outand saw the prices going up, up, up!
But 3weeks out it finally dropped last year. So far mine are coming up at $70 more then the $268. I have with Thrifty.
Crossing my fingers as I really was spoiled last year at just over $100 for 8.2 days.

I'm not trying to add or change anything. I was literally just trying to see my ressie online and can't even do that. I even tried to use the modify link and kept getting that error. The coupon code is already on there but I can't even check in online without getting the error, and can't get past it. I hope this all makes sense!

now I gotcha! there have been issues this week with exactly what you describe. If you have your reservation # email them or call & ask that they verify the details of the reservation (including what check-in you are eligible to use) and resend a confirmation for your files.

Just reserved a midsize through Alamo for a week arriving in Tampa and out of Orlando at $157. Not great, but not horrible either. I will keep checking daily for them to drop. We leave October 24th. Hope there are minivans in our row when we go to pick up
