October 2013!

For an ADR on a party night when you are not staying for the party, you can book up to (not including) 7pm. Once you have finished your meal, you will likely be escorted to the gate by a CM, or at the very least, directed to the exit by every CM you encounter between the restaurant and the gate. You will not be permitted to enter any store, snack line or restroom without a wristband. That said, they will not rush you through your meal.

I'm so happy you are going in October, Smitch - you are so helpful in these threads! Glad to have your expertise. :)

10/26-11/1 here! Just booked it yesterday! I'm working on my pre-trip report as we speak

Yay, congrats! I'll be there most of those days, going to watch for your PTR. :)

Awww...that is very sweet of you to say. Thank you. :goodvibes Helping people here somehow makes my trip feel like it's closer. I have learned so much here that I feel it is my duty to pay it forward. Only 172 more days!:rotfl:

Yep...just checked in the mirror. I'm blushing. :flower3: Thank you for thanking me. I'll be sure to show DH these posts when he gets home and sees the house lookin' like a hot mess. :lmao: Then he'll know I wasn't completely slacking all day. :rotfl:

I need to join in too!! Smitch, I look for your reply to every question! lol Do you know anything about how to get my 6 year old to pick up her things? lol

Thanks! LOL re: DH - there is so much info and the planning seems to be half the fun. :) AoA looks gorgeous!

Congrats on the ADRs! There was a thread on the main board about breakfast vs. lunch, I've never been so take this for what it's worth, people said breakfast is more traditional breakfast foods and lunch is more adventurous. Some people suggested a 10:30ish ADR, i.e. right at the end of breakfast? That way you could sample both breakfast at lunch. I agree that at first thing in the morning you may still be stuffed from the night before!

Oh thank you - I'm so happy to hear that. I love the fact that the quiet pools are right by the laundry, that's so clever. How old is your DS?

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for your reply! I think right now I will stick to the lunch for the Tuskar House. We are not huge breakfast eaters and do better with a bagel and cereal...lol

What are your dates again? We are 10-20 to 10-26

Vickie

Hi Vickie, I'm with you - my TH reservation is for lunch. Or it will be, my TA is making the reservations tomorrow morning. :) We'll be in the parks 10/28-11/3.

:rotfl2: I have many answers to many things, but sadly, that is not one of them. Though I do play games with my DS8 when his room is out of control. Sometimes I'll pick up one toy and he'll pick up 4, and we keep doing that until it is clean. Or sometimes I sit on his bed and give him a topic like "Toy Story characters" and he calls out one for each toy he grabs and puts away. He has a bunch of those Closetmaid cubes and shelving, so cleanup goes fast. The one thing I'm a stickler for is making sure all of his Power Rangers Squinkies are accounted for. There are 48 of them so I count them and put them away. It's the weirdest thing, though... 9 times out of 10 it is the same character that is the last one I find. We are convinced he comes to life and tries to hide. :rotfl2:

Anyone having problems with ADR? Today is the first day we can make them and online reservations aren't working and when we called they to us to wait until we could do it online. I'm concerned about not getting time that will work for the kiddos now :(

The system is down for maintenance. No one can make them, so the availability will not change between now and when they get the system back up. Good luck!

Somehow my TA managed to get my reservations today!! I am so glad I enlisted her services, I would not have wanted to deal with that this morning. Most of my ADRs weren't going to be very difficult ones, though (no BOG).

Me too! Last time we went to WDW was 2009, booked in June with FD for a September trip. Was in that short time frame with ADRs were just going on line and booking was at 90 days. That trip seems so easy to do.

This time around I am making arrangements for 2 familes (2 rooms). Our dates and ADRs are set for October 19-26. No resort reservation made yet but think I had better make something soon; room and tickets?. Our first choice is POFQ with POR second. Hoping for FD/Stay/Play/Dine(?) or RO.

glad to have tips and pointers from all October DISers

When I called back they had that message on. Makes me feel a little better but is driving the planner in me CRAZY :). I want to check this off my list!

I am REALLY (crazy) excited and nervous about this trip for many reasons.

1. First vacation with BF (will have been dating for 18 months by that point)
2. HIS first trip as a grown up!
3. Epcot Food and Wine Fest!!! (I caught the tail end of it once when I was 22 and have always wanted to go back and experience it for real.)
4. ULTRA Budget trip. Staying off-site at Econo Lodge, did not get park hopper option, etc. Trying to cut corners without cutting fun! (want to manage one nice dinner if possible in MK, suggestions for budget friendly dinner with good atmosphere?)
5. Introducing the BF to the joys of Pin-trading (hope he likes it or as at least tolerant of my scavenger hunt style pin trading)
6. EO!!!! Captain EO is back!!!!!
7. OMG I LOVE DISNEY WORLD!!!!

So glad I found this board. We booked the trip 3 weeks ago and already my BF is starting to show signs of overload by how much I am talking about it!
I actually prefer to plan vacations at least 6 months out so I have time to plan, save, and enjoy. Part of my enjoyment comes from the anticipation.

We have 5 days. (First day in parks actually Oct 15th, we will arrive the evening on the 14th in Kissimee) We plan to spend 3 in Epcot and one each in HS and MK. (the boyfriend is disinterested in Animal Kingdom) Trying to Decide how to spread that out.

167 days left!
:hyper:

We're staying at POR Oct 18-27 and I am sure DS will be dragging us over to POFQ for the sea serpant slide at POFQ at least once during our trip! :rotfl: I am also looking forward to some beignets from POFQ! We just like the big resort feel and theming a little better at POR vs. POFQ.

Are you a AAA member? If yes, you should be able to get a 15% off RO discount at POR for now if you want to hold on to something (at least POR, maybe POFQ too). We had a AAA RO booked, and now have a AAA package (small discount on tickets too) and will just plan to rebook if something better comes along. :hippie:

I tried asking, I think on another board, but since you mentioned it...I booked room only for 3 nights at POR. After I booked online, I called the Disney number to see if there were any AAA discounts to be applied. (I am a member.) I was told no. I booked a standard room from 10/11 to 10/13. Thoughts? Columbus Day weekend the reason? Maybe upgrade to a King bed will get a discount?

I am a AAA member. To get the AAA discount don't I have to book through them and then they control my reservations?

The sea serpant slide is the reason we want to stay at POFQ, or POR if we can't or the discount (if any) for FQ is not as good. We stayed at ASSp last time, really looking forward to a Mod this time.
