October 2013 - Car Rental

Does anyone know the latest/greatest code for Enterprise? I can deal with the tiniest car available since it'll be just me. My Entertainment book just offers me a free upgrade, but I'd rather save bucks. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone have experience using either Dollar or E-Z Rental? We are looking into dropping our National rental from the Disney Car Care Center and renting for the length of our stay from an MCO car rental. Both have great rates, with E-Z we can add on a 2nd driver (DH) for free.

Also, can you pay for tolls with a CC? It looks too expensive to just put on the toll pass for 10 days. Non-toll side roads can be a pain too. TIA!

Tolls have to be paid in cash. And some times coin only. I just make sure I have a couple rolls of quarters handy.

I'm looking for info on EZ also.

Okay - I keep thinking that I have done something wrong, but... and maybe y'all don't care anyway because I'm doing DL not WDW.

But I went through ebates.com and got a compact rental from Budget in Anaheim for four days, and the total, after my ebate, will be about $115. I am going to keep looking because I feel like I can still get it lower, but that's the lowest I've seen so far.

I believe this was the deal that I used:

The savings of up to 15 % applies to Budget Inbound rates and is applicable only to the time and mileage charges of the rental. Offer does not apply to car group X. Optional products and refueling are extra. Please mention BCD H010505 to take advantage of this offer. Offer is available Inbound rentals at participating locations in the U.S. and Canada. Offer may not be used in conjunction with any other BCD number, promotion or offer. Discount valid on rentals checked out by 12/15/13. Offer is subject to vehicle availability at the time of rental and may not be available on some rates at some times, including some online rates at Budget.com. Car rental return restrictions may apply. Offer subject to change without notice. Holiday and other blackout periods may apply. Renter must meet Budget age, driver and credit requirements. Minimum age may vary by location. An additional daily surcharge may apply for renters under 25 years old.
*25% off all purchases from www.lonelyplanet.com/shop. Code valid May 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013. Your promotional code is not eligible to be used in conjunction with any other offer. Conditions apply, see: http://support.lonelyplanet.com/entries/256679-Special-offers-promotions#promo2

Great, thanks. I keep seeing things about hidden fees for opting out of the SunPass ($9.99/day, or $15 opt out) which I think is ridiculous. But then I also see that there are spots where you should exit to not encounter unmanned tolls, and hoping that you can still pay in cash? It's been 18 years since I lived in Orlando, 13 years since I visited last. I'm a little nervous that by saving $$ on a rental car might actually make things worse and ding us with more.

Also noticed that I can add a driver on EZ and the extra daily fee would be waived (with certain bookings, phone and online), but not with Dollar.

When I was there in May the only tolls are back and forth to the airport and I never had a problem with coins :)

I just booked Firefly for Oct 13-20. Got a compact for $114 including taxes. I called the 800-777-5500 number on their web site and got Advantage car rental. Advantage is off site not in the terminal. How do any of you know that it will be in the terminal? I do not want to use a shuttle.

I found this number on the Firefly website under the Contact Us section - 888-296-9135. I called the number and the recording identified the line as Firefly rental.

I spoke to a rep and asked where they were located. She looked it up and said they had counters in the A terminal and B terminal.

I need a car for the beginning of my trip and the end of my trip. I made 2 reservations with Firefly.

The first 5 day rental is $73.28. The second 5 day rental is $82.78. :)

I reserved a full size car from Dollar for 2 weeks and 1 hour for 402.00 tax included. I used coupon code 5c11m and corporate code for aaa. Not too horrible!

Hi All! I just had some success with an Alamo code that I added along with my 10% Alamo Insiders discount! One of the best rates yet and since I have a Visa, I feel comfortable using this code too (vs. some random code out there...)

Alamo Rent A Car: Use your Visa to pay for a rental (must include Sat. rental). Save up to 25% when renting any size car in the United States. Coupon Code AD2338FDF

:goodvibes

Coupon is at capacity from my dates. :(

Same here - 10/26-11/5.

So far the KLM code with National is the best for me. (I'm too nervous of the Firefly deal:worried:)

I am going to have to try the KLM code again. I had to cancel my original reservation when we changed our dates.

I am also too nervous about Firefly. One of the things we like about Alamo is that we can pick out our car. I am very sensitive to smells and there is no way I could drive in a funky car all week. I am not sure how Firefly would deal with such a situation.
