***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

We're planning on the Oct 18 party.



As far as ADRs, we'll be there October 13-24 and are planning on The Turf Club at SSR, Saana, Rose and Crown, Be Our Guest (new TS in MK), and 50s. We're going to grill a few nights at the THV and then also hit up F&W. I'm so excited.

For the last week and a half of October it says that the Magic Kingdom closes at 7pm on 10/21, 10/23, 10/25, 10/26, 10/28, 10/30, 10/31.

Does that mean that MNSSHP will take place on all those nights?

Probably. Although in the past, they have changed some MNSSHP dates after they've been announced.

Most likely yes.

The park hours that I have also show "Wishes" on the other nights at 9pm, but on the 7pm closings it says "none", which means those are probably Hallowishes nights.

Not that you'd want to go on the night you arrive, but arriving on the 30th, you have the option of the 30th, 31st or Nov. 1st. We're thinking Nov. 1st for us.

Due to our fight times we won't be getting to our resort until well into the evening (I think we land about 5pm?) so we'd ruled the 30th out. We did consider the 1st of Nov one, but heard that they both usually sell out so if they are both going to be eaqually busy we might as well do the 31st one! Although I might regret this logic later!

9/30 - MNSSHP no ADRs
10/1 - Epcot, dinner @ Biergarten 6:30PM
10/2 - DHS, dinner @ 50s PTC 6PM
10/3 - Waterpark day, dinner @ Ohana 8PM, Epcot EMH
10/4 - breakfast @ Boma 9:30AM, AK
10/5 - MK, breakfast @ Crystal Palace 10AM, dinner @ Jiko 8:30PM (unless BoG opens!)
10/6 - Waterpark day, dinner @ T-Rex 7:30PM
10/7 - Epcot, lunch @ Chefs de France 2PM, MK EMH
10/8 - last day lunch @ WCC 1PM, DME will pick us up around 5PM

We'll be there at the end of October and we're going to do the party on Halloween. We got married at the Shades of Green resort on Halloween in '08 and then went to the party so it's sort of an anniversary thing. We're also going to do another party, but I don't know what date yet.

It's half a year till our trip and I'm already angsting over what costume to wear. What I really want to do is a Dr. Facilier costume but I can't sew and don't know anyone who could make it for me. So I'm looking at store bought costumes and trying to find something that isn't too revealing. Y'all do not want to see that much of me!

I was wondering, could you just create your own costume? I looked it up ( I didn't know what it looked like) and it seems like if you got a black or purple suit with a purple shirt, add the hat and you'd be good! That's kind of what I'm doing for my capt hook costume, buying a pirate costume and then adding a shirt and accessories. Just a thought!

Still a month until I can make our ADR's. We are going Deluxe and this is our list....although not set on dates/times yet.

Breakfasts: CRT - Akershus - Tusker House - Cape May (this will be our departure day since no park tix that day)

Lunch: Captain's Grill (arrival day since staying at YC) - Kona - Chefs de France - Yak & Yeti (or Be Our Guest if open) - Teppan Edo

Dinner: Flying Fish - Citricos - Artist Point - Jiko - Cape May - California Grill


I think that's all of them. Should be 21 credits.

From what I heard, Be Our Guest will only be a TS for dinner. The rest of the day it is QS.


I think for my ADRs I'm going to swap out Jiko for HDDR. We're going to be at MK anyway and this way we can just take the boat right over. What a fun place for a birthday celebration! Last time I was there, they pulled me up onstage to can can dance

Getting ready to make our ADRs this friday! I took off work and am planning on getting up at 5:45 to try and book online, but I will also be double checking with someone on the phone at 7 to make sure that everything I want, I got and try to switch around things that we may not get.

EA: After looking at the hours I'm pretty impressed with myself in that I only had to change one time for dinner and everything else meshes. We are going to the party on the 4th, which is our first park day. Can't wait for tickets to go on sale.

10/21 breakfast Chef Mickey's then my friends are having an anniversary dinner at Cinderella's table, I'm sneaking over to Kona for bread, butter and sushi

10/22 F&WF all day then late dinner at Sanaa or Coral Reef

10/23 breakfast at Tuskerhouse then MNSSHP perhaps dinner at Liberty Tree or Belle's if it's open.

10/24 dinner at LeCellier..friends are visiting family offsite so I'm open for breakfast/lunch

10/25 50's Prime Time for lunch and the Fantasmic Mama Melrose dinner

10/26 Crystal Palace for breakfast and the Aloha Dinner Luau early show

10/27 open. Sadly it's departure day for us
I'm so excited to make these reservations. Then I get to pick more reservations for two trips in December before/after our Fantasy cruise.
