***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

:thanks: This will be our first trip to the World during the F&W festival and I am painfully excited. We'll also be doing MNNSHP if anyone has insights on either. :woohoo:

If you're a foodie, you'll love F&W. Even if you're not, you'll love it! It's awesome. My favorite stands are Japan, Montreal (cheddar cheese soup!!!!!), and Poland. Yes, I eat soup in 85 degree weather. :rolleyes1

MNNSHP is so much fun. The parade is the best I've seen in WDW. I'm planning to go on our first night so we can snack on candy for the rest of the trip ;)

LMFAO Jenny! The country is called "CANADA" not Montreal (city)!:rotfl: ;) I love cheddar cheese soup...and broccoli and cheese soup and cauliflower and cheese soup.... :cloud9:

I'm aware the country is Canada. But some stands are broken down by city and that one is Montreal.

Did you really think I don't know the difference between a country and a city?? Especially since I'm a hockey fan? C'mon now!

:thumbsup2 Great tip on the candy. I'm already in planning mode for days-to-do-what so I'm going to have to move MNSSHP to earlier.

I love food, DH is a total foodie. I am elated that we'll be there. :woohoo: My kids love cheese soup so we'll have to try it. I have been lurking on some reports and the festival looks like a ton of fun!

I'm in that planning mode too. I'm going based off last year's hours until the 2012 hours are released. The day we get in, there is a MNSSHP so we're planning to go to that. I'm toying with the idea of flying in a night earlier so we have a full first day.

I love the cheddar cheese soup! And the pierogies in Poland? YUM! I plan on getting a passport at the festival next year and so I can have it stamped at every country I eat at. :)

All this F&W talk is making be HUNGRY! I have so many ADRs I want to make, but I also want to leave plenty of room for snacking around the World. How is everyone planning to handle meals/F&W?

All of our ADRs are dinners and probably later dinners at that, around 7 or 8. We'll probably end up lunching/snacking on the F&W carts. Last year, they sold a gift card wristlet and you could put whatever amount you wanted on it. It made paying for the cart purchases a lot easier!

When do they generally release them? It feels like forever since we've been to WDW. I love the planning. :cloud9:

Is the passport like the kid's passport?

That's exactly what I was thinking about. We are huge grazers, our meals are generally on the smaller side and we share. A lot. F&W sounds right up our alley.

I like that wristlet idea. :thumbsup2 We'll get the kids each one too. I'm so glad they like all kinds of foods. I think they'll get a kick out of the festival.

I am working totally off last year's hours. Our touring style has evolved since our last trip. We are really liking to spend time at our resort. We even cook. Well, DH does. ;) I clean up.

They haven't already announced the dates of the parties have they?

I think they've released the hours up until June so by March or April the October hours should be up.

I'm not sure what the passport looks like. We didn't get it last year. I've heard about it but never seen it.

No but they're usually the same nights every year. You can figure it out for 2012 by looking at this years dates.

Sign us up, we'll be there 10/29-11/4 before leaving for our first Disney cruise on the Dream! We're staying value this time to save some money so Pop Century it is.

It's like once hours are posted, the trip is super real. :woohoo: I'm going to search and see if I can find a pic of the passport.

I found an article about it with pictures http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/10/24/spotlight-epcot-food-and-wine-festival-passport-stamps/

And these are the wristlet cards

Minimum amount of $5, max $1500 (wowza!)

I was on the Disney TA website and noticed the July hours were posted last week. It looks like they post the hours around the 3rd week of every month. If this continues, we should have the October hours by the end of March. :goodvibes

I want them NOW!!! :lmao:

Just decided that we are going in October but have not figured out the dates yet. Would like to stay at the Beach Club Villas for easy access to Epcot. The last Food & Wine that we went to was in 09 and we stayed at Boardwalk and loves being so close.
