***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

Just decided that we are going in October but have not figured out the dates yet. Would like to stay at the Beach Club Villas for easy access to Epcot. The last Food & Wine that we went to was in 09 and we stayed at Boardwalk and loves being so close.

Let us know if you're able to get a villa there. I've read that they are near impossible to get at that time of year unless you own there. I'd like to try it there one day, but we have to wait until the 7 month window.

Added! :)

I found an article about it with pictures http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/10/24/spotlight-epcot-food-and-wine-festival-passport-stamps/

And these are the wristlet cards
wine2011_wristcards2011ww.jpg

Minimum amount of $5, max $1500 (wowza!)

:thanks: :worship: Love them! Who in the world could eat/drink $1,500 worth of bite sized snacks and mini glasses of wine? :faint:

:confused3 Even if you could afford it, who could possibly eat and drink that much?? Unless you're traveling with a big group of people and you all chip in to put it on one card? :confused3

Totally! Plus, who wants to share cards?

Merry Christmas Eve friends and Happy 5th night of Hanukkah. :grouphug:

You guys are funny!!! Those wristlets are just regular disney gift cards and can be used all over WDW, DL and online to shop! So, some people use them instead of credit cards to pay for everything for their week long vacation. We used one in Oct to pay for our F&W eating and drinking and also on board the Dream cruise ship to apply to our on board credit. Very convenient!:thumbsup2

That is a very cute idea that it is on a wristlet. I would totally get one of these for my oldest son. Where can you buy them?

I agree! I'd get all 5 of us our own. I probably wouldn't have more than $20 on each of the kids at a time in case they lost them.

I was toying with the idea of switching to the BW to be closer to Epcot. We're planning on spending a lot of time there. But we're renting points and I don't wait to be a pain to my DVC member & I'm not sure she even has the points available. I guess there's no harm in asking though, is there?

277 days to go.

Hey everyone!

Jenny told me about this thread and I can't believe I didn't find it earlier.

Our dates are 9/30 - 10/6 at Pop Century! I was going to have us stay at a moderate, but the values are seriously the best bang for our buck with the little kids. I am thinking about switching us over to All Star Movies for the Toy Story section since Jake is an avid Buzz and Woody fan, but we shall see! I really want to stay at the new AoA, but it's a little more than what I would want to spend for a value resort. Especially since Jake would want to stay in the Cars section!

I am SO excited and I can't wait! :goodvibes:woohoo:

Yay! You found us! :)

I'm so excited you'll be there at the same time as me. You think we can convince Kimmy to go too? ;)

I'm adding you to the list :goodvibes

As a DVC owner, it wouldn't bother me at all if my renter asked me to check different resorts. :goodvibes Where are you staying now?

Haha, same here! I am always changing my mind between different ones!

Let's see. For this trip I was originally at POR. Then CSR. Then AKL. I think POFQ was in there somewhere too. :rotfl: I like the location of the BW since we're at Epcot so much and I think Kris wants to stay there but I'm not crazy about the pool plus it's more money. I'd also have to wait until the end of February for her to be able to check availability. AKL is remote which is good & bad. Bad because you have to take buses everywhere - it's the only resort that doesn't have a boat or some other means of transportation. It's good because I know it will be peaceful & feel like we're in a different 'world.' Decisions, decisions!

We finally decided on our dates! We'll be at Beach Club Villas from 9/29 - 10/7. I can't wait. We arrive on our anniversary and will be there for our daughter's third Birthday. We already have that day planned with lots of surprises for her!

Another person with the same dates and another birthday trip :) What day is your daughter's birthday?

Her birthday is on October 3rd. This is our normal week to go, just turned out that she was born the same week. The lucky girl gets to celebrate her birthday is Disney now.

Yay! We'll be there during the same time and celebrating birthdays, too! :yay:
