***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

We're at AKL right now. That's where she owns. I can never commit to a resort 100% :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Do any of us commit 100%? In my mind I've changed from SSR and THV to SSR and BWV to SSR the entire 10 nights and to my current SSR and AKV. :hyper: :upsidedow

Haha, same here! I am always changing my mind between different ones!

::yes::

Let's see. For this trip I was originally at POR. Then CSR. Then AKL. I think POFQ was in there somewhere too. :rotfl: I like the location of the BW since we're at Epcot so much and I think Kris wants to stay there but I'm not crazy about the pool plus it's more money. I'd also have to wait until the end of February for her to be able to check availability. AKL is remote which is good & bad. Bad because you have to take buses everywhere - it's the only resort that doesn't have a boat or some other means of transportation. It's good because I know it will be peaceful & feel like we're in a different 'world.' Decisions, decisions!

 I love our first world problems! I encounter far more bus issues at POR than I did at AKV. It is remote but that's what I love about it, it's got that total resort feeling. :cloud9: it's collectively where all 5 of us could agree on. I'm going to take my chances with trying to get Club Level at the 7 month mark. :wizard: Still not 100% convinced I'm willing to chance a pool view but if CL is open, it's meant to be. A 2 bedroom after the 11 month mark is virtually impossible to get.

My son Cole (my first born and always my baby) will be celebrating his 15th birthday!!! His birthday is officially October 17th but we're celebrating it while at Disney!:cheer2::lovestruc

Very cool! What a great way to celebrate. We'll be celebrating our middle DD's bat mitzvah. Her service is this May but she wants to go to MNSSHP and F&W too. :cool1:

Me and my friend are hopefully (more than 90% sure) we'll be making a trip to the world! We are planning on going Oct 3- Oct 8 and stay at POR.:lovestruc (we were going to try CSR but we both share the same love for POR)

This trip started as we were both planning on applying for the college program for next fall but our advisor told us if we did we would be looking at graduating a year later then we planned. So that was a no go. :headache:But my sister is applying and I thought what a perfect idea to visit her! (if she gets accepted!)
This will be my first time going to MNSSHP, my family is planning a trip for sept 2013 and to be honest I just can't wait that long! (and we just visited this past aug.) Our first idea was to go for spring break in March but I just couldn't save up for a trip that soon since I am a broke college student. So October it was since I have been obsessing about going to the halloween party, I had to convince my friend that it would be ok to miss 2 days of school and now this trip is all we ever talk about!:rotfl:
We might also have two other people joining us but its not a for sure thing yet.

Yay! I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to wait almost 2 years to get back to Disney World!

Our trip dates will overlap, too :goodvibes

Welcome! I'll add you to the ever-growing list on the first page :) Our dates overlap, we'll be there 9/30-10/7. I can't believe how many DISers are going to be there that week!

I'm so glad I don't have to wait 2 years and that I get to enjoy some of the fantasyland expansion sooner :lovestruc

How exciting!!! Everyone's probably going because it is a long weekend thanks to columbus day! I know that's why I am going.

October birthdays here too. Clover will be 1 on the 4th, and Briar will be 5 on the 16th. :lovestruc

We'll be taking a Trip Formerly Known as a Grand Gathering in October 2012! I can't wait . . . but I'm also a little anxious because I'm the trip planner. (I just started a Happy Dance/Planning thread about our trip.)

We'll probably stay at the Contemporary, with the Dining Plan. And we love character meals. I need to start firming up our travel plans and making reservations ASAP!

:santa:

Thank you! I've long used the DisBoards as a planning/research resource and thought it was high time to actually participate. You all are great. :)

We are at POR now and rebooked with a bounce back for October 21-27. I'll have to catch up with you all when we get home. Happy New Year!!

Awesome! I look forward to your review of POR and pictures! That is where me and my kids (and my parents) are staying in Sept! :woohoo:

Hi Everyone...

We are thinking of going in October 2012, possibly November. We have always gone in Jan, Mar, May, and never in the fall. Could anyone tell me if the MNSSHP would be appropriate for a 4 year old? and do you know what the weather is like? any info would be really appreciated!!! hopefully we can join the board soon!!!

Your 4 year old would love MNSSHP! We've never done the Halloween party, but we've done the Christmas party and it was a blast! I hear the fireworks at MNSSHP are seriously AWESOME and that the parade is a favorite of many people :thumbsup2

This will be our first year going to MNNSHP (we thought our children were too young to get much out of it last time) but our friends who've gone with preschoolers/young elementary school kids had a BLAST and return every year. We like the spooooky fireworks (not too scary, but the castle is green and purple and the music is different).

The fall is my FAVORITE time to visit WDW. The weather's great, the crowds are low, the decor is fun.

As for the weather, rain is less common in Oct/Nov than in spring/summer, but packing a light jacket and jeans is a good idea. Average lows around 60 degrees, average highs around 80, but we've had days in the low 50's too.

Enjoy!!!

We've only been in Sept and May. I'm so looking forward to a little cooler temps. Can't wait! :wizard:
