***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

Hello! I am new to the boards. I hope this doesn't post twice, I just typed it all and it was all of a sudden gone! We just decided to go Oct 27th-Nov 4th, and are so excited. I have enjoyed reading all of your posts! We are thinking of staying at either POP or CSR. I am wondering if I get lucky enough to get the free dining(I am really hoping for this, is it a better deal to stay at a moderate, by the time you pay to upgrade the dining plan from the value resort? Also, for those of you who have already made your reservations, how does that work with your flights? We are hoping to fly southwest, and they are not booking out that far yet. I would like to make my reservation with Disney, but what happens if for some reason you can't get flights on the first and last day, do they let you change your reservation dates by a day? Sorry for all of the questions, I am so excited, I can't sleep

Some days it feels like time is flying, and others it feels like Oct is never going to get here!! haha

But I really do hope that everything works out, so I can change the dates!!

In other news, I spilled coffee on my laptop, so now my period button and my mouse pad thingy doesn't work!! So now I have to use a wireless mouse and a lot of exclamation marks! haha

Hello from England!! we have just booked SSR for 15 nights from the 1st October till the 16th and I'm sooo excited I've been going since a child and have managed to take my own family every over yr since they was a yr old! I'm a Disney nut and although to start with my hubby never was that excited to even go,since that 1st trip he has been hooked we normally go in sep/October it's definayly my fab month to go as I love Halloween and even though us Brits are getting better at celebrating it ......it's just not as good as Disney or the US!!! I've never stayed at SsR and I'm a little scared of the size even driving through on the bus it looked HUGE but I got a great deal for 6 of us in a 2bed with free DdP so couldn't pass on it I adore pop & so do the boys we have stayed their twice last time we did AkL adored that place I'm a little worried it won't be Disney enough for us! But I'm jut thrilled to be going all ibhave to do now is pray flight prices come down after Xmas as they are pretty high right now.sorry for long post I jut get carried away when talking Disney

Welcome! 15 nights? I'm jealous. We were going to stay at SSR last year but ended up switching to save some $. From the research I did on it, it seems like a really nice resort and so close to DTD. Can't beat that!

Anyways, as much of a pain as it is, you could always call and make the payment. I just hate calling them...unless I have a good portion of the afternoon to play 20 questions.

I hate calling them too. I had to call them twice on Wednesday and was on hold for about 10 minutes each time. The second time I had to listen to 'It's a Small World' Ugh. I don't like having to call them for every little thing if I need to make a change to a client's reservation.

We can officially be put on the list now!!! We had to move out trip from September to October, but that's ok because we upgraded to the Yacht Club yay!!

It would be me, hubby, DS(4), DD(1) and my parents. Going 10/26-10/29, and we are super excited!!! It's going to be blast having the F&W festival in our "yard" hahaha. This is the first time we are gonna have hoppers to enjoy it, and also the first time going to MNSSHP. DS is TOO excited about it, he asks me to watch the parade on Youtube about 3 times a week lol. He can't wait to trick or treat at the Magic Kingdom.... and I can't wait to see my little princess's face on her first time to the World

YC! I'm jealous. You can't beat that location. I stayed in the Beach Club a couple years ago and absolutely loved being so close to Epcot. Plus the pool is awesome!

Finally have all but 1 day of our ressies made. Oct 16-Oct 31 at BLT, and Oct 31-Nov 8 at VWL! Yay! Of course, we'll try to change at the 7 months, but right now I'm just thrilled with 13 nights in WDW!!!

Welcome to the boards! When you decide on your resort, let us know and I'll add you to the list. You can upgrade the dining plan at a value, it doesn't make a huge impact in the cost. Sometimes it ends up being less expensive than regular FD at a mod. And Disney will allow you to change anything you want as long as it's not within 45 days of your travel date.

Congrats on booking your trip! Your trip sounds a bit like ours. We are staying just a couple nights to take the kiddos to MNSSHP and for DH and I to enjoy a little of F&W. We have 2 little ones who will be seeing the "world" for the first time too. How exciting! And YC...that will be so much fun

I *think* MNSSHP tickets go on sale in May sometime.

I already have costumes for 2 of my 4 kiddos. For my youngest, who will be 2 when we go (almost 3), I found a cute pirate costume. Hoping to get my other little one who will be almost 4 a pirate costume too. For my daughter who will be 9 when we go, I found a super cute Mad Hatter costume. Really hoping to get a pic of her w/ Alice/Mad Hatter or Queen of Hearts.

What costumes do you have picked for the kids?

I've started a PTR, figured it'd help with my compulsive planning self and also because I have 2 months left until our new addition gets here - this trip will be a first for us as parents!

My PTR is: WDW through an 8-month-old’s eyes…and Disney on a B-word – October 2012 PTR!

Aw that's so sweet! I'm sure he will LOVE it. That resort looks awesome. If I wasnt going for 12 days I would have stayed there....but it's way out of my budget for a trip this long and I don't think I'm gonna do a split stay! We're booked into the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside.
