***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

Joining in. Just my sister and I so far, but a couple of friends might join us also. Staying at AKV from Oct. 21st to Oct. 27th. Hoping to switch to BWV or BLT at the 7 month mark (with the help of pixie dust).

When I saw this thread my first thought was "wow, already!" but who am I kidding! I've been planning and saving for almost a year so it makes sense that others would be too :goodvibes It's been over 20 yrs since either DH or I have been and that was waaaaaaay before we met. This will be the first time for our kids and as a family.

We are going from Oct 28-Nov 3 and staying at the Poly! I am going crazy with all the extras, though. There's so much available and I don't want to miss out on anything! I've had to pull myself out of commando mode more than once as far as overplanning goes

We may do CL, so hoping to be around the resort to enjoy it!
MNSSHP- just in time for this, thank goodness
F & W!!!!! I'm hoping the kids will be entertained by the Kidcot stations or Kim Possible while DH and I sample goodies
V&A's to celebrate our anniversary while the kiddos play at the Neverland Club

You know what I'm most excited about? Obviously aside from the opportunity to even GO. The Headless Horseman in the parade for MNSSHP! I LOVED watching "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" every year since I was little. I think I remember seeing pics of his horse rearing and then they gallop across the bridge in Liberty Square. Is this right? Can anyone advise me on where should I stake out a spot so that we can see this?

Only 327 days! Thanks for the widget info!

I'm soooo looking forward to seeing Headless Horseman too!! We watched "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" in Oct. I hadnt seen that movie in forever.

I am hoping my older kids enjoy F&W...at least a little bit. I'm hoping they will think its neat to try some foods from countries other than Italy, Mexico and China :lmao:

I have a PTR going too!

I would say put me down for October 12-20 for now... Highly subject to change... resort unknown!

we are excited!! might start a PTR soon!!!

Sweet! Make sure to let us know when and if you do! I'm really enjoying my PTR! Even when some days I feel like I'm just talking to myself!! It's fun to look back from the first day and to see all the stuff I've got already! :rotfl:

I actually bought my daughter a canvas bag today for her to carry her autograph book in!!! It's so cute. I will have to post a pic tomorrow! It's an official Disney brand bag with MINNIE mouse! At Wal-mart in Canada (not sure about in the US) for only $10!

Until today I really was talking to myself in my PTR... I guess my jumbled thoughts spewing on the page don't make for very entertaining reading!

Thanks for adding me!! And for stopping by my PTR :goodvibes

It's so weird planning a trip with a baby. All the normal stuff we'd do (like F&W) is going to take a back burner, but I'm excited about it! So glad we had the chance to do a number of trips w/o kids too though.

My PTR is ALL over the place. :rotfl2: That's what it's there for. Sharing your thought process and plans and anything else you want to post. I talk about hockey alot too! :woohoo:

Welcome to all the newcomers! I'll be adding you to the list shortly :) I love that this thread keeps growing & growing.

I've been buying stuff too...for the Oct trip and for our trip next Dec. I've been taking pics of the stuff for my Oct PTR, I just need to get it posted. I tried to stock up during Halloween clearance :) I'll have to pop over and see the Minnie bag.

Is anybody planning on dressing up for MNSSHP? My DBf wants to go as Wall-E and Eve. Cute idea until he started talking about giant cardboard boxes as costumes. The first thing out of my mouth was 'How are we going to sit on rides???' :rotfl:

We are. :) I'm going to be making some headdresses for DH and I that are like the Lion King Musical for him and I. I just need to make sure they will be small enough to be permitted on the rides. I found some nice and comfortable African clothing so we'll go w/ that. I wanted to make my kids cubs but something tells me that won't go over too well. My youngest has an extreme fascination w/ Mickey Mouse and to date, it's the only costume he has ever worn because he won't leave any other on. And well, if the youngest doesn't have to say "in theme" my oldest most likely won't either. Oh well, a mom can dream. ;)

Great idea :) Good luck if you end up trying to get everyone to go with the theme! :goodvibes

Well, look at that! My name has been published!

Thank you, Jenny. Seeing my dates in print makes it seem more real :goodvibes

DH wants to dress up for MNSSHP. He wanted to do The Incredibles but wants the old blue super-suit:rolleyes:. His back-up is the crew from Firefly, but I'm not sure we'll be able to get the kids on board for that since they don't watch the show with us! I guess we could let the kids do their thing and we can dress up as Wash and Zoe.

I'm loving all the costumes ideas!!! We have the kid's costumes already. An angel for DD and Luigi for DS. Of course, now DS want DH to be Mario...which I think is a cute idea. I don't know what I'm gonna be (I'll take suggestions)

Princess Peach! LOL. But then your daughter would be left out of the theme. Maybe you could be a devil and pair with her if your DH and DS are going to be Mario & Luigi?

Uh... Hi  Just joining in to chat :) I'm planning on a solo trip in October 2012, from 10/26-11/1. I'll be staying at Pop and plan to do MNSSHP on Halloween night. My dates might get pushed back to December, but I'm hoping to not have to do that.

So, hello! :wave2:
