***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

lol He sounds like a fun guy! I love that he said that! I imagine he said it in like a valley girl accent. lol "like OMG!" Atleast that is how I hear it in my head! :)

haha Yeah, that's pretty much exactly how he said it!:rotfl: He's such a goofball! But I love him! haha
He's very shy at first, but once you get to know him, he's a nut!:lmao: I hope this all works out, though! Because it would be so awesome to be able to meet you guys!

Yay another person getting there on Sept 29!!! :)

Ooooh did you take advantage of the Canadian Free dining offer? That's why I moved my trip back a day from Sept 30 to Sept 29!

hi heather :goodvibes ! Yep, actually I am the one who told you about the CDN free dining offer when you called to see if you could get it, :rotfl:
glad we where able to grab that deal, with my two teens, their stomachs are never-ending pits :rotfl

There seems to be a few of us arriving on the same day, maybe we can meet up while there :) I am anxiously awaiting flights schedule to released for my dates....keeping an eye on West Jet, but prices are crazy right now (about 349$ per way/ per person....so over $700 ea.)x 3 flights needed from Edmonton, I am hoping prices come down in the new yr! :scared1:
So excited for our first MNSSHP and a little looky at food and wine, depending on crowds :)

Well, I put down my deposit, and of course, after the fact, got my Disney Visa, but that's fine. I'll use it!

Changed my stay from Saturday to the following Sunday, rather than following Saturday. Couldn't bear to have a weekend day not spent at the park! Will probably fly out early on Sunday so we can spend the day recuperating. Will be worth it to get one more night of fireworks and F&W! Maybe Chef Mickey to celebrate before catching ME to the airport?

I wonder, can we just ride the monorail for fun on the morning of our departure day without going into the parks?

Going to a fundraiser next week at the school where one of the big raffles is for a Disney cruise. Buying tickets for that for sure! Wish us luck!

We booked our trip through Triple A, and we have to reserve our premium Triple A seating for fireworks when the schedule comes out. Nice perk for husband, since he loves fireworks!

Looking forward to the Dessert Party reservations opening up. Don't want to miss that one!

Wow, that's a big prize! Last raffle I saw's biggest prize was a tin of Celebrations...I need to go to some better fundraisers!

Oh yay! Marie, good to see you again then! :) I am SO happy that you told me about that dining thing! Gotta love this place!!!! :woohoo: I know the dining plan is gonna be good on my pocket book. I'm thinking im going to upgrade my (will be) 9 year old to an adult because he is almost the same size as his 14 year old brother and no way those childrens meals will satisfy him.

Yeah flights are like that here from Winnipeg too. I mean for one thing there is NO direct flights to Orlando except in November and December. So right now for me and the 3 kids we're looking at about $3000 for the flights!!! My damn 12 days, 8 days park hopper, upgraded meal plan is only $3200! Flights suck from here. I am considering driving to North Dakota and flying from there. I have found flights for about $1800! That's a HUGE difference!

And me and Jenny are planning a meet up! If Enchanted gets her dates moved she's joining in. So for sure you can meet up with us. I think we're thinking of meeting over at Jennys AKL! I wanted an excuse to go to Animal Kingdom Lodge anyways for my kids to see the animals! :)

Yupper. You can drive to TTC and take the MK route around the resorts. We plan on doing this!

Woah!!!! What a prize!!! Good luck!!!! :wizard:

We are debating the dessert party as well. Not sure I want to spend the money though. Everything is adding up and the kids want to do the MNSSHP too! So then the cost of tickets and costumes. Ahhhh!

Hi Heather, that would be great to meet some fellow disser's , especially some CDN friends :) I dont' know how much time we'll have though to scootch over to AKL (my favourite resort by the way!)...I am only there for 5 days.....one day per park, it will be pretty jammed.....if you guys decide to meet up for fireworks, or food and wine festival, or decide on a date for MNSSHP, (I am thinking I would love a Tuesday Party, like Oct 2...but don't think there will be a Tue. Party if dates follow the same pattern as the last yr. --- second choice date is Sunday, Sept 30) -- in any event, let me know! :) maybe we can arrange a quick hello! :) I will be at Animal Kingdom Park, just not stopping by the lodge this trip..... Still not sure of what days/what parks, but I joined TGM too, so hopefully the least crowded park info will give me a heads up on that!

I wish I had an american airport nearby that I could fly out of.....Unfortunately, being in Edmonton, I am stuck using my home airport..... I am looking at flying to Toronto on Friday night (the 28th) so we can be rested for Saturday's 10:00 am flight to Orlando (that flight would have us arrive by 1:30pm) -- if we do this, we shouldn't be overly tired to spend the rest of the day at a park......Where as if I was to fly the red eye again, I would arrive in Orlando at the same time (1:30 pm)...but have to fly from midnight on Friday to Sat morning, then hang around Toronto for 4 hours ( from 6am to 10 am).....that would really put a damper on our arrival day!!

Actually, January/Feb really had some better flight options than October, I am quite surprised!!! I really want October though to try my first MNSSHP (not dressing up though)....and my first Food and Wine Festival, along with hopefully lower crowds, and maybe slightly coolet temps if we are lucky!! In any event, we should at least be able to swim in OCT :)

Looking forward to planning with y'all!!!
