Is that because of Columbus Day? I didn't even know about that holiday before I booked the trip! I was pissed! lol I think that the Saturday will end up as a rest day for us at the hotel/Downtown Disney day.

Yep! Columbus day weekend Sat-Mon is a busy time. Saturday is the last full day we're there, we leave on Sunday. That Saturday is looking like the busiest day of that whole weekend.


Montegut - Welcome to the boards! I work for AAA so if I hear of any discounts, I'll be sure to share them Touring Plans is listing AK as the best park for Saturday 10/6, Epcot for 10/7, and MK for Columbus Day itself.

lol Are you going crazy? Well we'll try to save our park days for the Sunday for the least busy park. Maybe AK that day? I'll avoid MK cause I assume that is the busiest park that weekend. I guess we'll see.

I wish it was April and the park hours were out already so I could figure out where we want to go and on which days. lol This whole thing is so intense. Cause then I gotta figure out my ADRS. I am just happy I got park hopper so atleast if we can't get a meal we want on the day we want we can hop over to that park for it.

Also, we have now officially booked!! YAY!!! And we have a slight date change. We will now be there from Sept 29 - October 7!!!

Woohoo!! Now you get there the same day as Jenny and I!

We're arriving the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend. Planning to hit AK first, and go on Sunday to catch anything we missed. Then maybe Park Hop over to Epcot if there's a good concert for F&W. Maybe do the Behind the Scenes Animal Kingdom tour Sunday morning.

Can anyone suggest dinner reservation for a travel day? We'll be staying at the Contemporary. Wonder if I should reserve California Grill for the first night, maybe in time to watch the fireworks either at the restaurant or from the room when we head up to bed? We'll be up since 5 AM Central time that day, so we'll be pretty tired, but want to get the Contemporary fireworks view the first night, so I won't feel bad for the price we're paying!

I've been advised to try to make dining reservations for the parks we'll be at. I will have a Park Hopper pass, but just to save travel time and not be late, I would like to try to make my reservations on the days where onsite travelers get extra hours. I know we can't make reservations until six months ahead of time. But when will we know what parks will have extended hours what days?

Park Hours will be available in APRIL which is also when the window opens for ADRS! (dining reservations) And yes you definately want to make your ADRS as soon as that time comes because there are MANY guests who want them and are up and booking as soon as they can!

That sounds like a GREAT idea! Exactly what I would do if I was staying where you are. I've seen some amazing photos taken from the viewing area at the Contemporary of the fireworks. Looks so cool!

You can get a sense of what they'll be by looking at the 2011 October schedule. The 2012 hours will generally be the same, maybe with a few tweeks here & there. It definitely helps to plan and then you can make adjustments once the official hours are released.

Think California Grill sounds like a good choice for you...the fireworks view should be amazing!

According to touringplans.com, your crowd predictions are very low. They rank crowds 1-10 with 1 being the lowest & 10 being the highest. The highest ranking throughout the week was a level 4. On Saturday the 20th, it's a level 9 so watch out for that day! But every other day looks great

Thanks so much for the info!!! That's not too bad! I'm still leaning towards changing the date so maybe I can meet you and heather!! I'll just have to see how Dh feels about the date change and how things work out! But it would be awesome!

We're all going to know eachother so well by next October!!!

lol He sounds like a fun guy! I love that he said that! I imagine he said it in like a valley girl accent. lol "like OMG!" Atleast that is how I hear it in my head!
