***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

Great! That will help make it easier to keep track of everybody and when they are going! We havent officially booked yet but the dates we are probably going to book are October 28 - November 5 at CSR! I also like how you added PTR's. I still havent decided if I am going to be doing one myself. I've never done one before and am a little nervous about it. I will definitely be doing a dining report when we get back though.

Added you to the list :) If you decide to write a PTR, post the link and I'll add that too. I've never done a dining report. I never remember to take pictures of my food until I'm close to being finished. :rotfl:

Mid-October 2012.....depending on a couple things but we want to do MNSSHP!!

Exact dates to come in a couple weeks!!

Any idea for F&W 2012 dates?

I haven't heard anything about F&W for 2012. Probably won't until spring. You can get an idea from the 2011 dates.

Ooooh!!!

Hey Jenny! You should add my PTR!

YAY! More new people! Glad to have you guys along! Excited to read more PTR and see where everyone is with their planning! :cool1::cheer2:

We're going 30th october - 13th of Nov 2012, so I only just make it onto this board! We've booked to stay at POR.

Has anyone done MNSSHP before? And can tell me what to expect? Like does everyone dress up, or do only the children go in costume and stuff like that? Halloween really isn't big over here so I really don't know what to expect!

By the looks of her ticker I would say she is going this year and posted on the wrong thread!

That's what I thought too.

Added you to the first page :)

I went to MNSSHP in 2009. There's a mix of people in costume (both children & adults) and regular clothes. I didn't go in costume. The parade is excellent, one of the best I've seen at Magic Kingdom. Trick or treating is a lot of fun too. Plus seeing the characters in their costumes makes for a great photo op!

When we went in 09 almost all the kids were dressed up and quite a few adults also. We had a blast..that is why we chose to go back in October next year so we could attend again!!
Everyone trick or treats around the park, short lines for rides and the characters are dressed so cute!

:cool1:Hello, all! It's been a while since I've stopped by to say hello!! Oct. 2011 is almost here.....you know what that means?! ONLY ONE MORE YEAR 'TILL DISNEY!!!:):):) I'm so excited, I can hardly contain myself! haha I'm so glad I'm not the only one planning and re-planning already:)

In other news, I am starting up a PTR soon. I have held off as long as I could, and now I can't stand it anymore..so I'll let you guys know when I get it up and going!

I also have a couple of questions, and I am sure you lovely people can give me some guidance!!(I hope!) We are booked Oct. 14-21 2012. Staying at POP, 7 day park tickets with hopper, and as for now, we have QSP. I was looking at the free dining dates of this year, and if '12 is like '11 then there won't be free dining for us. :confused3 I have only been to Disney one time before this next trip and I don't want to mess anything up, so here's my question: Once the free dining dates are released for fall of '12, is it a big deal to switch your dates around to match free dining dates? Also, we were considering bumping up our 7day tickets to 8 day tickets...is this hard to do as well?? I just don't want to call and mess everything up!! haha

Anywho....I WILL be on this thread a lot more from here out. I need my DIS friends to keep me company 'till the big OCT. 2012..then we can all start planning our next trip together!!
Have a great, wonderful, zipadee dooda day!:):hippie:

We are officially booked for 10/6-10/13 for AoA. We have booked with the standard DDP and are crossing fingers for DDP or Military discount being extended into October 2012- if that's the case, I think I can convince DH to commit to MNSSHP. We've done MNSSHP in 2009 (Labor Day week, the very 1st party of that season) and it was such an awesome experience. I will say it definitely will take planning with a young one in tow. Our oldest daughter (and only one at the time) was 4 and it was the very last night of our visit (the next morning we rolled out of my favorite place on earth to head home). We made the mistake of going to the park that morning, then heading back to the room and NO ONE could take a nap- we were all excited about the evening's party. My 4 year old was so close to a breakdown due to lack of energy and sleep by about 9 p.m. it was awful! She was a pretty good sport as I wanted to keep going and seeing more of the party- we did piggy back rides and everything else to help her keep going- then she passed out on the boatride back to our resort... Such a trooper! Surprisingly, after all that drama of a pregnant Mom pushing her through her exhaustion, she wants to do it again! Here's hoping for free dining or military discount for October 2012. Yahoo!!

Is it sad that we've already narrowed down our meals to 7 table services and matched them up with which park day we would want to use them on? Just waiting for hours to decide which day of the vacation we're doing each park/restaurant... I'm dying here- 1 year is SUCH a long way's away!!

Just a question to you fine October 2012 folks: we've done the traditional autograph books for our oldest daughter, but I'm looking to step outside the box. I thought about printing black/white coloring pages (google disney coloring pages), 3-hold punching them, adding them to a binder, letting the characters sign them, and then allowing my daughter to color them on the drive down, while we're in the room, on the drive back, and/or at home. DH is not nuts about this idea- anyone have any creative autograph suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

As long as the hotel has availability for free dining, switching your dates shouldn't be a problem. Be prepared to wait on hold for awhile though! Disney's hold times are very long when free dining is announced. Changing your ticket is no problem at all. I'm a TA, I'm constantly calling Disney for changes & they make things very easy!

Let us know when you start your PTR!

I have a list of the TS places I want to try but I haven't narrowed it down yet. You're on top of your game! :)

I like the idea you have for the autographs!! That's a different spin on it.

I know this is wayyy early but I figured someone would know....When do the MNSSHP tickets for next year usually go on sale? And how far in advance do airlines usually release there seats

One year is a VERY long time to wait :sad2: I've started a list of restaurants that I want to try but I'm waiting to narrow them down closer to the time so I can try and stretch out the planning ;) Does anybody have any must do restaurants that they've never tried before planned? I think we are going to try really hard to get a spot at Le Cellier for my hubby and I am going to make a ADR at La Hacienda for me (I :lovestruc Mexican food).

Some of the other restaurants I'm thinking of doing are Whispering Canyons (new to us), Yak & Yeti (loved it last time we went), and Cape May Clam Bake (loved it last time). I'm sure these will change a million times over by the time we go but thats what it is for now.

Mmmmm Mexican food! :) Seeing as how I haven't been to DW is almost 18 years I had no idea about the restaurants. Glad ot have found this board. I already told the kids I will figure out a list of restaurants and where they are. And that they have till April to all agree (with me) on which ones we REALLY want to go to!

I know we have to do atleast one princess meal since I promised her already. I think that will be it for character meals for us. We'll brave the lines to meet Mickey and Minnie and the princesses. My boys don't care either way where we go as long as we are in DW!! lol

I think MNSSHP tickets are usually released in the spring, around April or May. And airlines usually allow you to book about 9 or 10 months out. I think JetBlue just opened up dates through June.
