***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

I would think that you will benefit from Photopass more on a trip with the kids versus an adults only trip. The best place to learn about Photopass is here...

http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/

Thanks for the link! :thumbsup2 I most likely will go ahead and purchase the prepaid cd before the price increase, then just decide later whether to use it for this trip or not. I think you can do this, correct? You don't actually use the code for the prepaid cd until you get back and edit the pics?

My uncle, who is developementally challenged, will be going on the trip and he LOVES getting his pic taken (especially with his fav character Goofy!), so it might be worth it to use. if we don't get a lot of good pics I'll just save it for another trip. :rolleyes1

Your welcome! The preorder code will stay in your account until you actually order the cd and checkout, so you can edit the pics ffrom your first trip and then if you don't think you have enough you can just let the pics expire. Also, if you think you would like to do it for both trips, you can have more than one credit in your card at a time (at least that what I have been told by Photopass customer service).

The best thing anyone can do when they preorder is hit up as many Photopass spots as possible, especially in front of the park icons. If the line is only one or two groups long, stop at all of 'em because you never know what the other guests in the background will be doing when you get your photos back. LOL! Also, be sure to take shots at different times of the day in the same places (like daytime castle and nighttime castle). On our last trip, we found a Photopass guy all alone off to the side of the castle and he kept taking our picture everytime the castle changed colors.:rotfl: He'd say, "Wait! Now it's blue!" and "Nobody move! It's about to turn purple!":lmao: We were all cracking up.

Here's a couple of my best tips:

First, be sure to write down (or take a pic) of any Photopass card #s you receive. This way, if you lose the card you can still retrieve your photos.

Second, at meet and greet locations, be sure to tell the photographer's assistant (or the photographer if no asst. is there) that you have already preordered the cd and to snap away! Some of the best shots we have are the interaction shots that take place before the full-on posed shot.:thumbsup2

Odd Numbers years bad, Even Numbered years good, gotcha.

Yes I realize that's ridiculous logic but I'm rollin' with it.

I'll go with this logic, too it may be ridiculously wonderful!

According to that website they do...there were locations for ones with Simba, Stitch, Tinkerbell and some others.

Also if you go to a MNSSHP there are a couple of ones you can have taken with ghosts in the background!
Oh yeah I'm so glad you posted this info I just pre ordered the photopass last week this makes it sweeter, we are a crazy Halloween obsessed family and are doing MNSSHP that would be ghostly amazing!

This is a good website for information on Photopass: http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/

Last time we went, we asked every photographer if he/she did any special shots (generally the ones where their cameras were NOT on a tripod could do some, I think) and we also made sure to mention we'd already pre-purchased the CD. I believe it helped us get a lot more shots for our money as we'd never had so many photos taken in each location before. :thumbsup2

This is great info to get my monies worth, thanks!

Thank you, Thank you, your posts are always soooo helpful for my trip planning... plus you just confirmed that by purchasing my photopass last week it was a good investment and now I'll know how to use it! :lovestruc:banana:

Thank you! We had so much fun last time trying to get as many of the special pics as we could, so I ws hoping they still did it.

We'll be there October 20-27
Just officially booked tonight :cool1:
We're staying at the Pop Century with two newbies. Woohoo
Deepirate:

We were just able to change some of our club level days at the AKV to a 2 BR at the BCV. YIPPEE! It's our first stay there and couldn't be a better time of year to do so! WOOT!

Yay! That is great news :) we will be looking for some of that magic next week when our 7 month window opens. We need to switch to BCV or BWV for a 2 bedroom. *fingers crossed*.

Good luck Pumpkinfish! :wizard: It's a hard last few days to sweat when you can SEE availability but can't book yet. SO TENSE!

Whatever works for you ;)

We always join a photopass share on Facebook. We take tons of pics and edit them the way we want and it usually only ends up costing us around $20. The only downside is you are putting your trust into a stranger to get those pics to you. Also, it takes longer to get the CD sent to you because you have to wait until everyone has finished editing and the CD needs to be copied by the lead.
We have had great luck and have just signed up for one in Oct.

I've joined the shares before, it worked out nicely for me. I'm thinking about pre-ordering the cd. Has the price gone up on that as well?

I think I got all the newbies added to the list!

I could be wrong but there don't seem to have been any word on this from what I've read, so a lot of people seem to be hedging their bets and ordering now in case it does go up.

A couple of people have said that they called Photopass and were told the preorder would go up by $30 to $129.95. Others have called and were told there was no info available on the preorder price. There has been no official announcement from Photopass either way. I've already preordered mine for our October trip because I was planning on doing it anyway and I didn't want to risk having to pay more later on for the same product.

Mine still says 2011...and I tried both links! No fair!

Weird...when I go in through Chrome, it still shows 2011. But IE9, brings up 2012.

I was just going to post about the calendar being updated! Great minds think alike.:dance3:
I checked and there are few minor changes to the hours posted from what they had last year, but I have a feeling those extra couple of hours are probably going to be there again once they have adjusted for actual reservation levels. I'm excited that our tentative plan will work with the posted hours!
Hope everyone has happy planning going on right now!:surfweb:
Now all we need is our ADR window to open up...:cheer2:

Too bad we're going to be there until Nov. 3! Now if only November hours were out too!

LOL! I feel your pain!:rotfl2: Our dates are 10/26-11/4. I was looking at the Oct hours and so many of our days have MK closing at 7 for MNSSHP. I have to keep reminding myself that I have more days coming to me later on.
