October 2012 Code Watch!!!

You can just sign up for AAA. Or in Canada you can anyhow... it's called CAA (same as AAA) a la carte. You don't get any car benefits but you get the discounts. It's about $30 a year.

You can here in the US too. You have to pay the membership obviously, but anyone can join AAA.

When Disney needs to fill rooms in slower seasons, they offer % off and Free Dining, but usually the PIN numbers are sent to Disney VISA card holders first, then previous or potential guest, and LASTLY to the General Public. .

This is not exactly correct. Being a Disney Visa holder has nothing to do with PINs. The people who get PINs are people who are registered on the Disney site. Getting a PIN is random as far as anyone knows, but there are certain things that MAY trigger your account, like saving trips and ordering maps.

Disney Visa holders occasionally get a deal a fews days prior to the general public, but this is not the same as a PIN. Usually it is just the Aug/Sept FD deal that we get early, but this year we were also exclusively offered 15% off select dates at AoA.

Anyone can join AAA. When booking room only and using the AAA discount, you can do that yourself with no AAA agent involved. When booking a package and wanting to get the AAA rate, the AAA office has to do it.

mys sister gets a pin OFTEN sent to my email (she doesn't have one). she does not have any credit cards, she is canadian, not registered on the disney site (has no internet). there is no rhyme or reason as to why she gets it but she does. no triggers there other than she has been to wdw three times. :confused3
i think your right when you say 'random'.

Yeah, my friend went with me a few years ago and I get PIN offers in my email for her. Weird.

Of course they never come when I want them!!

I have never received any e mail's or snail mail from Disney, and I had booked a trip with two rooms for last december, One for myself and one for my daughter and her husband and children. She received the pin about a month ago and it had free dining we are going on the 22nd of October, and you can use it up to 3 rooms. So if you booked other rooms with different family member's have them check they might have something. I booked directly with WDW, and would call once a month to pay on both rooms, so how she got the pin I do not know. Good luck to all of you I know the FD is a great saving's especially when you go with a lot of children we will have 5 and 4 adults.

I currently have 2 rooms with fd pin. One is nemo suite at aoa for my family, and my sister has a room in lm at aoa. If she decides not to go can i transfer the deal to another family? Tia

From what I have been told by a CM....you cannot transfer PINS....if they are under you...you are the only one that can use them. My dad had received a FD Pin for when we were going to be down there but because it was sent to my dad and under his name, he is the only one that would be able to use it...and if we booked under him, he would have to be there too.. they do not transfer Codes.

Are room-only and FD discounts valid for family suits at AOA, or just single Little Mermaid rooms?

Thanks!

I just booked using my mom's PIN. I have a mother/daughter home and my parents live with me and they told me as long as live at the same address, the PIN can be used for anyone who lives at that address. I do wonder why she got a PIN though. She goes once every few years and never books anything and we go a few times a year and we got nada!!

Thanks! I wish those two weeks in October weren't blacked out. I am seriously thinking about rescheduling for later in October. Free dining would be a big savings for us.

I check in on 10/31 for 8 nights with the dining plan already reserved with my package. Does this mean I would only get the FD for the 10/31 and 11/1 or would I be able to get it for my entire stay?

You will get it for the entire stay. You will have to change your reservation though. It doesn't automatically apply. Perhaps you already knew that, but I couldn't tell from the way you worded that first sentence. The last time we went in Dec 2010, we checked in on the last day of free dining (I think it was Dec. 17) and we had free dining for our whole stay, until Dec. 26.

This is probably a dumb question so I apologize in advance but if Disney offers room discounts, will they likely be for the same dates as the FD? A room discount would benefit us more than FD. I'm doubting that they will even offer a room discount though as we are at Contemporary and it seems to be booked up. We are currently going 10/13-10/20 and I looked at changing the week to take advantage of FD but it seems to be already booked unless you get a super expensive room.

So far, we have NO discount (no pin code or anything!) so I am hoping for something! At a minimum, I need to get the AAA rate applied so that we at least get some discount. Can Disney do that or do I need to call AAA?
