October 2012 Code Watch!!!

We just decided this week we're taking our kids for the first time. We'll be going the first or second week of October. I'm so excited to start planning! We're hoping to make it a surprise and not tell them until we're on our way, lets see if we're able to keep the secret!

Does anyone remember which dates were blacked out last October for the GP offers? I was lucky to have a PIN but I remember others having to pay rack rates...

We booked in October for MNSSHP and my birthday. We had a PIN. We really want to get into the Contemporary but right now it is not available. We will keep looking.

Joining in the Oct 2012 watch! I'm hoping to get one of those 30% pins. Don't have dates yet because we may be moving and swicthing school districts.

Last year we went during Columbus Day timeframe. The first few days we were able to apply pin, but then the pins were blacked out.

So it didn't look like there were room only discounts last year in October unless you were a FL resident or and AP holder- right? Hope there is one this year- or that I get a PIN somehow..... what are the PIN discounts for the room only anyway? Thanks!

The Contemporary is already booked! That's not good. Chances of big discounts won't be given out because they won't need to fill empty rooms.

Remember, if the free dining promo comes out and the cut off date is only one or two dates at the beginning of your trip - you can apply the promo for your entire trip. This only works for free dining, not a room promo.

Also, if the promo comes out and includes your dates - go ahead and grab it. In the past, there were dates listed for the FD promo for Oct/Nov/Dec and then several weeks after the promo hit, WDW changed the dates. One year (last year I think....) the promo started and included up to the Sat of Columbus Day weekend. Everyone going that week was able to get the promo because their trip started that Sat. Several weeks later the dates changed and the cut off backed up a little (to Thurs I think) and those trying to book Columbus Day week had a hard time getting their dates to fit.

I recently moved and just updated my address a few days ago. I decided to call and check if there was a code under my name, but sent to my old address and the CM I spoke to said she would check. I did have one for 20% off, so I went ahead and booked the vacation. She said that it wasn't a tiered %, so it was 20% for all hotels. We are staying at Pop Century from Oct. 20 - Oct. 28. It was a savings of $190...not a lot, but better than nothing. I still hope that they come out with FD for those dates for the General Public and if they do, then I will be switching to that.

Might want to read a few threads up, the moderators just posted that if you post a PIN code on the forums that wasn't meant for the public you'll get an infraction on your user name.

I wasn't asking for the CODE. Just the discount info-ie. FD or room discount. Isn't that allowed?

Booked our WDW vacation today!!! But in order to use our 30% off PIN we had to change our dates to September. So leaving this thread in search of the September one......Pixie Dust to all. If Free dining offered, might change our dates back to October though....

I wasn't asking for the CODE. Just the discount info-ie. FD or room discount. Isn't that allowed?

Your first post asked for the PIN....which is the code. Just didn't want you to get in to trouble....

Called last night and got a pin for % off room.Booked for 22-29th akl villa kidani savannah view.Was trying for free dining but the % we got was better.And had to change from 21st-27th to the 22nd-28th one day different no big deal.Cant wait for mnsshp its our favorite time to go.Now time to start getting our costumes together.

Last month I'd received a PIN in the mail. Yesterday, received another one. Looks like the 2nd one saves me even more, so I sent it over to my TA this morning to have her apply it.

I think the first one was only about 10%, but it looks like this new one saved us about 25%.
