Sure would love for a PIN code to come my way!!! I've ordered the DVD, saved trips online.

We are currently debating between F&WF or Vegas for a kid-free, milestone birthday trip and a PIN would help tip the scales for sure. We've done F&WF over Columbus Day weekend the past two years and by this time both years we had PIN codes so maybe our pixie dust has run out.

We are currently planning for Oct 14-21. However, historically speaking, that doesn't appear to be a free dining week. So we may have to change that whenever the free dining plans are released. Is there a twitter account or RSS feed out there that will announce the moment the free dining becomes available? I don't want to forget to check the forums and end up missing the news.

Excellent news! We're going with friends Oct 20-27/28 I'm an AP holder but would love FD. Our friends are going for the first time and they received a pin code. We're doing the Deluxe DP just for the additional snack credits (yay F&W)

You may be safe, this year - the Gartner Symposium is Oct 21 - 25. In 2011, the dates during this conference was blacked out and many resorts were completely booked several months out. According to their website, last years attendance was over 8,000.

Even if the 21st is blacked out, if you have FD for the beginning of your stay - you can apply FD to your entire stay even if there are days during the blackout periods.

Just booked our October trip! Staying at Caribbean Beach in Pirate rooms! Had gotten the 20% pin by saving this vacation online and ordering the planning dvd. Offered expired for me today so I went ahead and made the plans. So excited to be going back to Disneyworld

We are booked for Oct 13-20. Did I mess up our chances of getting a pin? It sounds like I should have priced it out and waited a few days. I guess it is too late now. We wanted Contemporary and I waited too long so we had to get a Theme Park view room which is a little more than we wanted to spend. We wanted a Garden Wing room. Hopefully we can get a discount to make it a little better. We already have a DVD from last year. Should I order another?

Oh...and if a pin is assigned to your name, will they tell you when you call or do you have to ask specifically? I called to make a change to my reservation and she didn't say anything.

One more thing...I booked directly with Disney. Should I have used AAA to get a discount?

You would have to ask if a PIN is attached to your name. Disney doesn't offer up any info unless you ask the questions directly.

You could have requested a AAA room only discount by booking through Disney. But if you wanted a package, you would have to book that through AAA. However, you mentioned that you ended up having to get a certain room when you did book. There are only a limited number of AAA rooms available, so it is possible that you wouldn't have been able to get the AAA discount anyway. You can still call a AAA travel agent and ask them to price it out for you. Doesn't hurt.

And no, you didn't necessarily hurt your chances of getting a PIN because you booked. I've gotten 2 PINs since I booked our trip. One did arrive 2 days later, so that one was probably already in the mail, but the 2nd one just arrived a week and a half ago and I booked on Jan. 3rd.

Just received a PIN for STAY PLAY DINE 5 night/6 day with base tickets and free quick service dining. Gonna see if TA can use it for our trip already booked Contemporary TPV Oct 21-26.

And of coarse, it did not work for us. Only available for Value's and Beach/Yacht club Suites

Guess we gotta wait for another and hopefully it will wwork.

I think there is a golf tournament or something else going on that week. So it's not looking good. That was originally the week we'd thought of going, but pushed our trip up a week instead.

That's right. But I'm pretty sure there is something going on the week before our trip. I think it's a convention actually. I think that's why because we are staying at YC and since that is a very popular convention resort, I was glad we'd decided to change our trip to the following week.
