Have you gone onto Disney.com and priced out and then saved any trips? (I didn't go back and read, so forgive me if you've already said.) Both of my PIN mailings referenced our interest in visiting in October, so I'm pretty sure that's how I ended up with them.

I also received a new Planning DVD in the mail yesterday and it mentioned November, which is when we had originally planned on going, but I've never received a PIN for November and hadn't saved any November trips online.

Starting to think about a oct trip, hoping for something. We havent' got a pin code in 2 years. We had to cancel or trip for last year so it's been 2 years and I've got the Disney itch bad.

Just scanning this thread, I see that the Contemporary is already booked. So glad I booked it a year ahead of time! Our 30th anniversary, unfortunately falls during Columbus Day week, Mickey's Halloween Party, and Epcot Food and Wine, so always hard to get a room, much less a discount.

It will be 30 years since I've gone to Disney, for our Honeymoon, and always been our dream to stay at the Contemporary.

Will be eating Ramen Noodles all year to save up for it!

We will be in DW October 9 through the 20. There are eight of us and FD would soooi be a god sent! I did already book, just because FW tends to fill pretty quick.

Does anyonever worry they won't get a pin if they go ahead and book?

I booked (based on what we wanted and budgeted) and then 2 days later I got my first PIN. That was at the beginning of January. On Monday, I received another PIN in the mail. My TA applied the first one when I got that and then she applied this new one on Tuesday.

No problem!

The key is not to book expecting a PIN, but to book what you can afford and if it happens, even better.

I am new to this, however I have been to Disney 10 times. Me and my family are looking to go to DW the week of Halloween. I am keeping my eyes open for discounts (ie, room rates, meal plan, etc.). If I join this will someone notify me from this thread that their are discounts available for this timeframe? Also, I am unsure how the discount codes work? I have read the posting about them, but I must say that I am still confused. Do you call and book the vacation package, or do you enter codes online?

That's awesome! How do you know you had a pin? Did they tell you? I've called 3 times to see if there are any discounts and nothing yet. I absolutely refuse to book unless there's a discount. The rates are just too outrageous.

I was going to wait for a promo or a PIN before I booked our trip, October 19 -27, but I started getting worried that the resort, All-Star Movies, and specific building, Toy Story, we wanted would be sold out so I called and booked our room just now. :woohoo:

In all my excitement I forgot to ask if there was a PIN connected to my name. :sad2: What a dunce!

I might call back tomorrow and ask, maybe. I'm sort of nervous about calling back and asking.

Me too the prices are just getting too out of control ....yeah just called and asked if there was a pin code associated with our name and there was.
We also just called back and added one more night since we saved so much.

We are booked from Oct. 9-16. Party of 5, and crossing our fingers for FD. If nothing else, we have a 30%PIN, but FD saves us almost another $400 +.

You can find out about public discounts many places. You may see it posted here somewhere.

But I also recommend registering on the Disney website, then requesting the planning DVD. Also, price out your trip for your desired dates on the Disney site and save it. This isn't a guarantee that you'll get a PIN code, but it seemed to work for me.

Now, a PIN code is not a general discount that just anyone can get. PIN codes are assigned to individual people and only the person who receives the PIN can use it. Both PIN codes that I received were sent to me in a mailing (not email - arrived from the post office). They had a web address and the code so I could price it online, but I had to use the given website address (it is a legit disney.com web address). I also had the option of calling Disney. I contacted my AAA Travel Agent and she had the PIN code attached to my reservation.

Hope this answers some of your questions. We are going the week of Halloween also.

My family is hoping to go Oct 6-13 and one of our best friends and her family will be there at the same time. She got the 30-35% off pin in the mail on Tuesday. I haven't received one, but am hoping for one too.

We booked with a 30% PIN for Oct 7th-12th, but now I'm considering adding another night to our reservation. If I do this, will we have to switch rooms for the additional night or will they just add it to our existing reservation?

Also, if free dining becomes available but has Columbus weekend blocked off can I add it to the rest of our stay that doesn't include the blocked out dates without having to change rooms?
