October 2012 Code Watch!!!

Joining this thread... We will be on our Disneymoon from October 27th to November 4th and staying at CBR (where I use to work, so I'm excited about that). Hoping for free dining so we can upgrade to deluxe!!

Unfortunately ........ completely normal. You must be on the "No Pin" list along with me. :sad1:

Awww...:sad1: Maybe someday someone will "crack the code" to figure out why some people get them and some never do...or I guess it's more likely there isn't even a "code" and it's totally random. :confused3

I get a monthly newsletter from Disney Destinations...do you get that? As for the pin codes/marketing promotions, not everyone gets them. When I have gotten a Pin Code from DD, it's usually in a separate e-mail, (doesn't come in the newsletter). Last time I got a marketing/pin code e-mail was 2 years ago, so they don't come as frequently as you might think.

The newsletters usually have the discounts that are available to the general public. Like in March it had a link for the Free Dining through Sept. 29th.

No, I don't get a newsletter. I'll check into my account settings and see if I can sign up somehow. Even if they don't come with individual discounts at least it will be another way to get a tiny Disney fix every month. :rotfl: Thanks!

Even though my "main" e-mail is linked to the my Disney account, I also get the Disney Destination newsletter sent to my work e-mail. And in fact, it's my work e-mail that gets the Pin Codes....how weird!

So go to Disney World's website. Scroll all the way down, and in the lower right-hand corner you will see "sign up for updates." Enter your e-mail address and you should be good to go. :thumbsup2

Received another PIN code this weekend for 15% off. It comes out more expensive than the Hoppers, WP&Fun one we already received so we are keeping our reservations the same at this point. Only 30% off or free dining will save us any more money since the hoppers are a must this trip.

BTW - I've received 5 PINS and every one of them has been by snail mail, no e-mails like others have received. 4 were in my name and the last one in DH's name.

Thats good to know, I will be watching my snail mail. I have be keeping a watch on my email and my hubby's email and nothing except what they have on the Disney site for the public which will not work for my October dates.

I booked a Little Mermaid room at AoA for Oct 29-Nov 2 for a solo trip. I am thinking now that I may need to change resorts. I am hoping for an AP rate. Do you think AP rates will be available for AoA?

I called yesterday and asked about a AAA rate. I had called before and the CM told me there were none available. I called again because tons of people on another board here were saying they got one. The CM was super nice and applied the discount for me. It was only 10% but I will take it! I am still waiting for the AP discounts to come out but this made me feel a little better...I just couldn't pay complete full price for the GF, I needed something to make it a little easier mentally :) This is a little side trip for my dd5 and I, and I feel a little guilty going to the most expensive resort. I have ALWAYS wanted to stay there and I figured having AP's was the only time it would be possible. I have been saving my money and bringing my lunch to work and I am SO excited to surprise my DD! So 10% got me excited...Can you imagine how excited I will be if I get an AP discount??? :)

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you all about the AAA discount...

My daughter had a pin in her email today ! A couple of days ago I saved some vacation quotes at the Disney website in my name and hers. Today she had an email with the dates and resorts that I saved at Disney along with a pin code ! Our dates are October 14th to the 19th at CBR. It did not say what discount it was but took me to a link to book it. I didnt book it because it is not in my name. This is my problem she may not be going :sad2: , Can I use her pin code or not ? No wait I went back and checked her email again and I didnt scroll down far enough it said 10% off for these dates 10/1/12-10/4/12 and 10/8/12-10/31/12. I guess 10% is better than nothing .

Last time I used a pin code, it was in my DH's name. He was on the reservation with me. However, I was the one who booked our ressie.

So my guess is that your daughter has to be on the reservation with you in order to use the pin, because it's in her name.

Please correct me if I'm wrong...just posting my personal experience. :thumbsup2

This may have already been addressed on this tread. Does anyone know why there are blckout weeks in mid-October? We are going in June this year and going back with friends in October. We will be there October 13th -16th. I was hoping to get a bounce back deal in June for our October trip, but I see that the week is blacked out. Is there an event or some type of holiday happening that week?

How interesting...I just called to check for a pin code, and the CM said I didn't have one, and suggested I send off an e-mail and see what they can do for me! The CM made it sound that my chances of getting a discount were higher going this route then calling to check for a pin code. She gave me the same e-mail Cierese posted. :cheer2:

Maybe this is a new thing Disney is doing, who knows. But I'm happy to give it a try...I have nothing else to lose! ;) :cheer2:

Would you be willing to share that email address? Thanks!

Nevermind, I found it! Thanks!

It's probably so we stop calling to check for pin codes attached to our names.

Oh my goodness, I just had to post my exciting news! I just got a callback from Disney World, and was given a 20% discount on my current ressie!! :woohoo: Apparently the other CM I talked to earlier decided to sprinkle Pixie Dust my way. pixiedust: This has never happened to me before! I'm just so excited right now.

I sent off the e-mail like 30 seconds before the call came in. Go figure!

The e-mail is wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

Hooray for you!!! :woohoo:

I tried the email thing this morning. Fingers are crossed to see if anything comes of it.

So here's my question.......... if something comes of this..... do I have to resign my position as president of the "No Pin" club? :lmao:

got my second set of maps from Disney through my husbands account. No discount snail mail came this time. Will keep an eye out though, as you never know. The second set of maps were actually much nicer than the first set, but at least now both of kids will have a set of their own to take with them to Disney World and we still have our 30% off PIN that we used.

May deals cannot come soon enough. I am still hoping for free dining as it would beat our current discount by about $300.00...keep your figures crossed and your eyes open... :hippie:

What type of request did you put in your email? Did you supply them with your reservation code?

Whatever it was, it doesn't matter. I just got a reply. All it said was to be sure I was registered and checked "yes" on the special offers box, which I have...... sigh........that special offers were radom.

Oh well..... I guess my tenure as president of the "No Pin" club can continue........
