October 2011...Who's all going? Vacation dates and lodging

I will be going October 25-29 staying at the Disneyland Hotel. Would love to meet up with anyone, I will be going solo so it would be nice to have a time to meet up with some others. :goodvibes

EDITED: Never mind...I misunderstood...thought this thread was for DisneyLAND. Should have read through the posts first...we won't be back at WDW until 2013. Ok...so is there a thread solely for Disneyland in California for Halloween? It's our first time at Halloween so while I know DL front and back for Christmas and spring, lol...don't know anything about it's secrets and must dos for Halloween. Would appreciate a link if anyone knows of one for DL

ConnieB, this is a thread for Disneyland. There is a thread for Halloween information for Disneyland. You will find everything you want to know about Halloween Time at the Halloween at DLR Superthread part 2.

Sherry E has done a great job with organizing the Halloween Time information in the first few posts with a Table of Contents, links to trip reports, pictures, Mickey's Halloween Party, special food items and so much more. I'm sure you will have a great time reading it.

I have added you information to the first post with a note that you would like to have a meet up. Looks like I will be there at the same time, but I am going to try to change my dates and lodging next week to 10/25 - 10/28, VGC. Once the MHP dates are announced, I was going to see if anyone would like to meet up for an afternoon someplace. I'll post more about this as it gets closer to the Fall.

DreamtheImpossible, Welcome to DISboards and the October Check In thread! I have added your info to the list.

As far as the crowds go, you picked some good dates. Traditionally, the crowds are higher around the Columbus Day, but you are arriving the day after Columbus Day, and on a Tuesday. Mid-week days are good for light crowds in October. Be aware that when a Mickey's Halloween Party is scheduled on a mid-week day, that day will bring in more guests than a typical mid-week day. Thoses dates have not been announced yet.

The weekend will bring in higher crowds, but not nearly as bad as a summer weekend. So the odds are in favor to get some good uncrowded days in the parks. You should have a great time.

Bumping with a Halloween joke. Ready? Here it goes.

Q. Why did the skeleton go disco dancing?

A. to see the boogy man.
:rotfl: Ok, so the thread is now bumped.

Tierre, howdy neighbor! I have added your dates and hotel to the list.

How fun to take to celebrate your baby daughter's first birthday at VGC. The long wait will be worth it, and you're following a good tradition with an annual fall vacation to DLR. A fall visit to DLR has become a tradition in our household, too. I'm lucky that my DD's school district takes a week off in October every year.

Thanks! It has been a long haul trying to get to Disneyland in October for halloween for the past year! Her B-day is in August, but going in October will be extra special for her :) Thats great the school lets the kids out for a week in October:thumbsup2

A little update I forgot to post.

I was able to book a bedroom at VGC for Oct 24 to 28!! :cool1::banana::yay:

So my dates are Monday, 24th to Thursday, 28th at the VGC. I have kept my reservation for the Marriott just in case Mickey's Halloween Party is not scheduled during my VGC stay or is scheduled for my check out day, Thursday. I just don't want to drive home after four days in the Parks and right after the MHP.

DW and I just scheduled 10/25 through 10/27 at the VGC in a studio. First time in a studio.

wbl2745, howdy neighbor! In fact we actually may be neighbors. We be staying at the VGC at the same time. We stayed in a one studio last February and really liked our room. I think you will be pleased.

I have added your dates to the list. Are you planning on attending a Mickey Halloween Party?

Just side story to bump this thread. Last Christmas, my DH gave me a D23 membership.
I used to be a pin collector and just started to get into it again. While at DL, on the 17th, I was able to pick up this niffty pin.

I liked this pin when I saw it last October. In fact, this picture was taken in October. I thought it would be sold out by now. Made my day when I found it.

Anyway, anyone planning a trip for October?

We have our reservation set!!! Our dates are Oct. 13-18. Travel days for the 13th and 18th with the 14-17 at the park. The plan is to go to the party on the 14th. (That way we can sleep in a little! lol) We will be staying at the Camelot. I can't wait!!!:yay::yay::yay:

PixiDustDears, you're added. No need to fret about waiting. It is only 197 days until your Halloween Time vacation at DLR! ;)

Well it seems like forever until October arrives and we all have some fun during Halloween Time in DLR. Got about 6 and half months to go.

My husband and I will be spending our honeymoon in Disneyland (His first time. I haven't been in over 10 years) from Oct 28th through Nov 5th. Booked a room at the Red Lion Maingate. :ccat:

LadyFaire88, your dates are added to the list. how incredibly special honeymoon you will have in DLR. I am sure it will be a very special trip indeed.
